I live out in the country and no one can cut those type of keys here. My original key is fine but the fob buttons are broken. If i order a replacement fob and just attach my old key to it, how do i go about programming it since Ill only have 1 key to stick in the ignition?
I covered this in the tail end of the programming section of the video (after actually demonstrating the programming when you _do_ have an existing key), re-check that part out and follow that second procedure instead.
In your case you are going to consume the one original key building the replacement fob, presumably using the roller pin method I showed. This will leave you with zero working keys once you do so. Also note, this videos programming procedure is specific to the Sonic. Other GM models may have different programming procedures.
Great information

@DrShock Thanks for clarifying. I watched that part but wasn't sure if it applied since I do have an existing key.
