It was supposed to be a pretty good phone, but it cracked in the middle next to the antenna and the software had a bad habit to brick itself and continuously restart. The solution was either to totally reset the software or to resoft it in the service; in any case, you'd lose pictures etc.

There's a channel called Not Just Bikes, that has a great video explaining the difference between American and European roads. Basically in the Netherlands, the entire road changes to match the speed limit - i.e. the road narrows, the number of lanes reduce, bumps are added, and trees on the roadside help narrow the field of view. In the US, the roads are built first, and the limits are added later, using a formula based on how fast the cars are driving without any limits. This means that the roads are always built for speed no matter what the safe speed is. And if it's a school zone, they are legally required to limit the speed to 35 mph. This is how you end up in situations where the people don't really feel unsafe even when they break the speed limits, and you accidentally end up training the people to ignore them.
    P. S. None of this is justifying MKBHD. Going 96 in a 35 mph zone is insane no matter how different the roads. I just wanted to plug Not Just Bikes, because it's a fantastic channel.

@@cryptocsguy9282 Yes and that is part of the problem. A tech start up in an European country might get a bit of news coverage in their home country, but it is unlikely to get any coverage by news or promoted by bloggers from other European countries. This makes very difficult to scale and gain a viable market share for a start up company.

I wish people didn’t overcomplicate the fediverse, since it is decentralized and user owned it won’t be ruined by a crooked businessman. The algorithm that sorts content is open source (AFAIK) so you know that it isn’t manipulating you into buying junk or pushing an agenda. To use Mastodon as an example, imagine there are multiple Twitters. Any person can open up their own Twitter and decide if they want to connect it to the rest of the Twitters, they may not want to if they want a Twitter that is specifically about one thing or subculture. I think most Mastodons are connected to each other even if they’re themed around something, so you sign up for one and you can see content from the rest almost as if there was just one Mastodon.

Regarding new search engines: Perhaps everyone ought to inform their direct environment of why it's important to switch from bing and google to something else. Meanwhile, all the alternative browsers and search engines have to vow to work together in a kind of small-tech-first approach. Europeans in particular ought to push their governments more towards open source, fair and private alternatives to USA tech companies. In many ways they've already pushed big tech in a better direction.

LG has always wasted tons of money on useless things, their employees are smoking their money, that's how their smartphone division also failed financially because they burnt too much money on developing useless hardware stuff that nobody asked for, i hope higher management come to their senses before whole company closes down. The 'cloth screens' might seem like a gimmick but they're working toward the real promise of oled screens. displays on irregular shaped objects, installing displays like wallpaper, and windows that can fade from transparent to opaque with any image in between. Their experimentation reminds me of Bell Labs before the courts broke up the phone companies. Many important break throughs were born from useless ideas.

@PeterJohnson-k5z yeah, every cool useless thing feels nice when someone else's money is burning. I am engineer, i respect engineering marvels, but this path can sink whole LG.
Either of the two things are going on in LG.
1)Sometimes engineers are smart and lazy, don't care about company but they just want to suck money and if higher management is fool then engineers would convince them to allow them funding to develop new market shattering cool technologies and let them work on that, because it is easy to make new things with less time constraints or deadlines and a lot of money, but it is difficult to perfect existing thing and serve customer's needs.
      Or
      2) higher management is fool MBA's who go to engineers and ask them what new thing are they developing, if engineers say nothing, everything is perfect at LG and we're just trying to make sure everything keeps working as it is, then company higher management get angry on them that we didn't hire you to give you salery to sit here, do something new. So they force engineers to work and that results in company's resources being waste and customer's recovering extra complicated products. Most products are not simple because even after it's perfect iteration is made, companies forces engineers to work and thus product keep getting unnecessarily complicated, we see it in cars all the time.
I think you're science and technology enthusiast but i'm telling you behind the scenes, Nokia, Philips, Panasonic and many other giants failed the same way. Efficiency is very important in companies otherwise they'll go bankrupt and shutdown and many employees don't care about it, they just want to suck every last drop of money that dumb higher management is willing to waste.
