I get goosebumps when this man speaks! It is his message of hope, prosperity, and change that unites us. I would support Hilary, but not against Obama. He envisions a better future, and I think, he can actually do it. His emphasis on lowering health care premiums (everyone wants health care, but not everyone can pay 300-500+/monthly for premiums. Lower education costs, higher wages for our unsung heros: TEACHERS, liberal arts programs, end this Iraq mess that McCain thinks is working!

I've heard him make all these points in speeches many times since the JJ dinner.
But in this one, his voice cracks, he's almost angry giving it.
    It's great!

We were right and yes we did. He will bring change and enthusiasm to our country. He was appointed for such a time as this. Even in the midst of doubt and reluctance he will prove to be our relief from peril and intellectual poverty.

as a moderate Belgian I applaud Iowa's choice.
I'm very satisfied Americans finally realize the last 7 years have been detrimental to their wonderful country. The problem of division will have to be dealt with now; I know a lot of Europeans feel prejudiced towards Americans and vice versa- which is ridiculous - but I feel this man is the only candidate capable and willing to reunite both continents. He has a sense of history in the making. What the...you go and make that history, America!

  • @SpinDizzyMR

I'm not American, but if I was I'd vote for this man, I believe he can improve America's image in the rest of the world. It's a superficial wish but wouldn't it be a great milestone for America to have a president of a different skin colour?
He's well spoken, intelligent, knows his stuff, I think the only direction someone like him could take America after Bush is upwards.
A lot of the other candidates feel same-old, there's something fresh about this guy.

For over 40 years, candidates have failed to remind the public that government can represent THEM. For over 40 years, there has not been a candidate that inspired the public to ask themselves how they can help make their nation better. Thank you, Mr. Obama.

    Hi
I am not American but I still follow the US politics. This senetor is truly amazing. His speech reflects the vast majority of what the rest of the world thinks about the US state of affairs. I really hope Mr. Barack wins tomorrow and the subsequent elections. He is direct, clear and convincig. Hilary Clinton is a good candidate but would you trust your country for 3 terms under the same family?? Look what happened under Bush?
    Thankx and good luck!

He said he did in his bid for state senate and senate. He is not in his presidential bid, and is now the sponsor of a bill for federal funding for public elections; he's ALREADY WORKING to clean up special interests! So yes, I call that integrity.

    YES.
To anyone who has family in Iowa, NH or is there yourself-- let them know how you feel about this candidate! Canvassing will be the only way to really make advances like this one stick in the primary. If you feel this speech, get out there to one of these states, volunteer to make phone calls, be constructive! This man has the charisma to do anything...

i absolutely agree with looneylucy. i haven't been "proud" to be an american in a long time. If obama wins, this will change. i think he brings a sincere belief that we can change this country. some say he's an idealist, but i'd rather see someone who is an idealist than someone who is satisfied with the shape of the country today.

  • @marytnurse
    @marytnurse 17 лет назад +1

Those who still have a decision to make REALLY need to go find out what the candidates have DONE, not what they say they are going to do. Read up on their ethics, read up on bills they've backed and sponsored, read up on their legislation. I want to know that the person I'm investing in IS who they SAY they are! Barack has always been able to unite divided groups, he is the only one who IS what he SAYS he is, and we deesperately need to be reunited to work toward saving our great nation.

  • @checkgame

I trust this man, He understands that before we can even help the world we have to first help ourselves. He doesn't neglect that america is in need, but he states the hopes of a better nation to bring a better world. He understands unity, he can't do it without us and he definitely pours his heart to see that we too are on the same page, not read lines from a paper. His responses to questions are real, not sugar coated, fabricated to sound good. But its genuine.

  • @Omantube

This man can make and change history but he can not do it alone, a great leader but he can not lead without everyones support and involvement.
His recent suggestion to hold a summit with the Islamic World represents a unique opportunity and it's a huge step to the right direction.
Go Obama and god may be with you....!

It's modeled quite similar to Martin Luther King's 'I have a dream' speech, combined with his unique character and passion. I see the fire in his eyes, and I believe his passion, brilliantly done.
The worst that can happen is that he can't much done because of the entrenched interests of the status quo. Even if that happens, watching him speak is good entertainment, and sure beats Dubya talking about 'nukular' weapons.

I think Congress should pass a law mandating that all primaries and caucuses for President and Congress be held on the SAME DAY, to address exactly this problem. States would still conduct the primaries, but it would get rid of all the "strategery" of front-loading primaries that deprives later states like Hawaii (and Kentucky here).

I like that he addressed restoring habeas corpus, but no one is challenging the fundamental problems better than Ron Paul. Ron Paul gets us out of the war, offers a non-intervention foreign policy, takes on the corruption of the IRS, and opposes the National ID, and the formation of the North American Union. These are the real issues, and it's very unpopular to talk about them. Ron Paul 2008!
