I WAS HERE...my husband was up close...really sincere man...you can feel his warmth and sincerity....I was not decided on anyone yet but he just was IT....pls. do not let this moment to vote him pass by....we need him and his new, fresh vision for the US.
I was there and was able to make it in. That was the biggest line I had ever seen. I was only in the middle and we were blocks away from the actual building. If his speech wasn't inspiring (which it definately was), seeing all those people waiting in line said it all.
I am soooo happy I was there! I cried, was elated to have witnessed history, and my candidate live and in person!!! Obama '08 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I seriously got chills watching this live last night. Especially at the point at which he starts raising his hand and voice and tries talking over the crowd's thunderous applause. It was unreal. He won the Presidency with this speech in my opinion.
I so agree with you! It's about darn time an African person get a chance to prove himself! He'll do just fine! I didn't think that I would live long enough to see this happening! I hope this will show black kids everywhere that they are not inferior, they should look beyond their color! Don't listen to people saying you're not good enough, you can achieve anything, you might have to work a little harder, but you'll sure get there!
"The last 30 seconds of the speech [were] prolific." -Ryesca I couldn't have said it better myself. I was moved to tears by the last few moments of this amazing, amazing speech. Obama '08!
I had the choice of going to either New York or Chicago to get my Master's. I chose Chicago. Before I'd even arrived, I was a staunch Obama supporter. It's been absolutely wonderful to be in the Windy City this year, during this primary season, the hometown of Mr. Barack Obama. He is the honest, compassionate, intelligent leader this country not only NEEDS...it DESERVES! Goodbye, Bush...don't let the door hit you on the way out. Hello President Obama and a brighter day.
I was there. The lines outside the Xcel were bananas! It was great, no one walking to the back of the line looked to be in a bad mood. Everyone seemed to be happy to come support Barack and witness a part of history. God willing, Obama will go down as one of the great leaders.
Barack Obama demonstrates the charisma, leadership, intellect, and substance to help motivate and empower all Americans, regardless of their chosen political party, to do what we are capable of doing. While I respect the other candidates, I am proud to have campaigned for Mr. Obama and elated that he is the Democratic nominee for President! Yes, we CAN!
My wife and I were there, and we truly did feel like that was the moment. The atmosphere was electric and everyone got chills. This man is destined for greatness.
Congrats to the US for making the right choice and nominating Barack. I am Canadian, and have no real skin in the game, but after watching Obama's speech last night I felt so proud and wish him all the best. It won't be easy but if he is elected I have great hopes for a real change in US policies on many issues and foresee a change in the world views of US and American's.
just hearing him say, "I can stand here and say I will be the Democratic nominee for President of the United States of America" sends shivers down my spine! Obama for Prez!!!
You are so right. He said this day would come in his "I Have a Dream" speech. Free at last, Free at last, thank God almighty, we are free at last. Yes We Can! Obama 2008/2012!!!
This is history that was made right in our time, no matter who you support as a candidate, this is a testamony of how far America has come. Our ancestors before us, would not have been more happy, as an African-American, I hope this inspires us as a nation to work to make our country a better place, as we have done for this nomination, let us all commit ourselves to working together and take it further to elceting him President of the United States, GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
"This is the moment" for USA to work for a better future. This is the leadership that I think you need to inspire and lead with principles and not only power the democratic world. Regards from Sweden.
I was not sure if I was going to vote for Obama before this speech. Now I am positive I am voting for him. This speech was so inspiring to me, and this is the proudest I have ever been of my country. I cant wait to utter the words "President Obama"
I was here watching this speech live. And boy oh boy, talk about noise! The audience is electrified to maximum level! You can literally feel it to your brain and spine. The moment he say "I will be the democratic nominee" and WOW! The volume is UNREAL! Obama 2008!
On August 28, 2008 45 years to the day of Martin Luther King's famous "I Have A Dream" speech Barack Obama will have the opportunity to make history again. To quote King...I am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulations...With faith we will be able to work together...to struggle together...I have a dream that children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. YES WE CAN!
This is the man that will restore the American image that was tainted for the last couple of years. And so does their greatness. ***OBAMA FOR U.S PRESIDENT 2008***
Listen to how he commends Sen. Clinton! Showing such humility in his moment of victory! Not a shred of arrogance! Virtuous, every ounce of his being! That's the leader we need! Building our counrty up from this solid foundation...principles of virtue! Behold our President for the next 8 years people!
Yheaa i have to agree that was a beatiful speech that just means he has a lot of words and he is sweet to the ear, too bad that ordinary people can't simple see beyond that. What a pitty
Senator Obama you made a skeptic a passionate supporter. Please help the people who will put you in office. Make America strong again she needs men of Intelligence and vision like yourself. God Bless..
I bet there are a lot of men that feel just as you do. He really sets the bar high - I think a lot of young men will enjoy him as a terrific role model.
My buddy and I got there pretty late and for the next couple hours, people were still making their way to the back of the line. I'm not lying when I say -- not one person had a frown on their face as they were walking to the back of the line, almost certainly not to get into the rally. It was like nothing I'd ever seen before. God bless Obama. God bless America.
Obama!!! I believed in you form the beggining when I first heared about you I said either Ron Paul or Obama. When Ron Paul was done I knew all along you would be the nominee and will be our president! Congradulations! You represent the indominable American spirit! YES WE CAN!!!!!!!!!
Well....I am pleased to say that when I heard the Keynote address at the Democratic convention in 2004 and turned afterwards to my friend and exclaimed "WHY DON'T WE HAVE THIS GUY RUNNING???", that it only took 4 more years for it to become reality!!!!! BARACK TO THE FUTURE!!!!!!
I've never seen so much love for any other politician from the United States of America. I hope everything goes right, and he is our next President. Obama in 2008!!!!!
This speech gets so epic at 25:50... If he wins, I am joining the military to help enforce his mandate, that's how much I believe in him and his earnest desire to make this nation and this world better. And if time allows, and a if President Obama should ask, National Service in between tours of duty.
"This was the moment, this was the time when we came together to remake this great nation, so that it may always reflect our very best selves and highest ideals." Wow, awesome. I always think it's important to remain impartial and skeptical towards politics. So I've thought some of the criticisms towards Obama were just. But above all else, he ignites the public to such a degree that I haven't seen in the past, which I think is important to turn the U.S. around. That's why I'm OBAMA all the way
YES THEY CAN! I'm not american but I'm so happy for you guys. Barack Obama will be the president you've been waiting for, just say a prayer for him so his path can be accomplish.
I was thinking that as much as I appreciate the Joe Biden's of the world, it's going to take more than the "average Democrat" to clean up the horrible mess the Republicans have made and get this nation back on track. I am so happy I lived to see this day. Yes, we can!
that is why america is so great. it dosent matter were you are from, of where your parents are from, you could accomplish just about any thing... God bless America..OBAMA 08
I do not want to trash talk McCain, being a fellow American, but I think this country cannot hold on to the same policies that have proven to be arrogant and irresponsible. We do not need a politician who wants to carry out an angenda similar to what we have seen for the past 8 years. We need someone who can give us back the feeling of hope. We need someone fresh. We need someone new. We need someone who can help us remember what it feels like to live without fear. We need Obama.
This is a victory for all black people everywhere! I'm so happy for him! His victory showed be that everything is possible in this world, my color will never be a limitation, and I will surely achieve every single dream of mine one day!
