President Obama, that has a nice ring. I am 42 yrs old, a 1st time voter, and I look forward to helping President Obama and the 1st lady, change this world.
"Hope is the bedrock of this nation, the belief that our destiny will not be written for us but by us, by all those men who are not content to settle for the world as it is, who have the courage to remake the world as it should be." Mark it down, that sentence will be timeless. Powerful stuff.
This is one of the most powerful speeches I have ever heard. I would compare it to the famous "I had a dream" speech given by MLK. If Barack can unite people the way he has on the campaign trail, I believe we will all be able to breath a little easier the next 4 years.
I had some problems in my life and am finally starting to get back on track. Today was one of those days where I just felt bleak about my future. The enitre day I thought that nothing was ever gonna get any better. This man gives me hope that my future will be better. That someone in power out there cares about lower middle class and is willing to do what they can to help me. He gives me a reason to dream for a brighter tomorrow.
I am a liberal, but I do have friends, family and co-workers that are republicans, and almost without exception they are impressed with Obama. I have heard the words "I think I'm going to vote for Obama" come out of the mouths of people I NEVER thought I would hear say anything good about a liberal candidate. I'm not exaggerating just to make a point, I'm just glad to be able to share support for a leader with people I avoided political conversations with in the past.
When you work as hard as he has, attend law school, make sacrifices for the betterment of the people collectively, and become Senator of Illinois, then you may compare yourself to him. Until that time comes, please put your arrogance in check.
He came to my high school on friday and it was pretty amazing to see such a huge politician there. I mean sure we've had 11 other presidential candidates at CHS but he was by far the one with the most hype, and the best message.
signed, sealed and delivered~read an article today that tied hope to dreams~took me that long to realize~finding my place in the sun~a dream come true~was what I hoped for when I listened to that Stevie Wonder song over & over again~Obama's win in Iowa seems like another hope & dream coming true~maybe not in time for me & you, but someday at Christmas time...
BARACK ROCKS!!! Iowa rocks! This, my friends, is the next president of the United States, who will make things right...I am so proud of and so humbled by this man...I am so proud to be an Iowan AND an American at this point FINALLY!!
Yes, for ages I've been a shy-away from politics and have considered them too complicated and downright depressing, but this year, my first year to be of age to vote, I've been reading up on and watching all the potential candidates--and I have to say, despite the fact we have MANY absolutely fantastic people running, Obama is undeniably giving me the most sincere, honest vibe that he has what it takes to turn this country around more than anyone else. OBAMA '08!
I am Canadian who grew up by Detroit and saw the years of civil rights struggles. If I lived in the USA Mr Obama is the only person I would vote for. It does not matter what color you are but what you want for yours and your children's future. I know that he is not Martin Luther King but he is HOPE for America. I cried at the end of his speech. Now on to New Hampshire and the White House.
wow. sounds like the Dr. Martin Luther King and Kennedy. very moving. forget his lack of experience, Obama can step up. "Change Is Coming To America!!!"
I have never been so excited or anxious to vote. I could always care less about politics because it was always the same ol' political b.s. but now ever since I saw Obama on Oprah over a year ago, I have a renewed hope in politics.
"Hope is that thing inside us, despite all evidence to the contrary, that something better awaits us if we have the courage to reach for it, and to work for it, and to fight for it!" If that doesn't inspire you, I don't know what does.
Wow the difference between listening to Obama speak and listening to Bush speak is staggering. I would finally be proud to say "thats my president" if Obama wins. Go Obama '08!!!
I am truly inspired, and it feels great to have that feeling back. No more blue states and red states, only the UNITED States of America. Thanks for inspiring me to want to get involved to help you make this change, Sen. Obama. I'm on your team now.
cheney and GWB had quite extensive resumes and "experience" when they entered office... and look where that has gotten us. It is a matter of having good judgment and offering a new vision. Barack has decades of experience doing community organizing, has successfully worked on the state and federal levels of government, and worked as a lawyer for community justice... that is his experience and he has an excellent track record of achieving results in all of those arenas.
He is one of the best speakers Ive ever heard and has great charisma. He gives us hope and I hope he is our next president. And thats saying something since I usaully vote republican. He reminds me of rfk and jfk the way he speaks. Kinda scares me he wont make it to November because anyone who trys to do good things or change this country gets assassinated like Bhutto did in Pakistahn or martin luther king, or jfk. Pray hes ar next president we really need a changefor the better.
in response to Graymatter305: I'm still researching as well, but one thing he did do as a "change agent" is the way he funded his campaign. It's all from private donors and none from lobbying groups, if I'm not mistaken
i honestly didn't know who i was going to vote for in the election. after i heard this speech, i would vote for obama all the way if he gets the nomination. go obama!!!!!!!!!!!!!
we shouldn't expect one man to change the world ... our leaders represent the consciousness of the people... if he means what he says and finds the power to do it and people support and vote for him then that means we're ready to move on ...
Future President Obama, You will have my first presidential vote ever and in return I will recieve the gift of remembering for eternity what change and optomism can do in each and every voice. I will vote for you without sway or flinching. I was skeptical for a very long time and you sir have not only affected my political skepticism, but even made my personal lifes outlook more optomistic and hopeful. Thank you, and Obama 08!! WOOHOO!
Obama will be the greatest president we've had in the last 50 years. There will never be another like him in American politics. He has everything a man needs to be a strong leader - even though his international experience may be less than other candidates. He is honest, inspiring and has learned from the mistakes of his past. The other candidates just seem to recycle their mistakes. Vote Obama for Prez!
King David lead a country at 13 yrs old. Does one need experience 1st to have a child. Look at what all those who have experience has done or has allowed this country to suffer. We are still divided. It's time for Divine change, and Obama is the man of the hour.
That's what scares me. I'm afraid for his life. What happened to MLK and JFK? I'm old enough to remember how Robert Kennedy moved audiences. That's who Obama reminds me of. They got him too.
To the fifteen year old- welcome to the office of the presidency, since when does it take experience or brains? It just doesn't happen, and hasn't for a very long time- and yet the office itself has more power than we have ever witnessed. All you can hope for is a president who can exercise some restraint.
I am so afraid that a man like this will unite Americans in hope....becuase hope is more powerful than guns....more powerful than money....more powerful than hate....it is hope that keeps us doggedly putting one foot in front of the other long after reason tells us to stop...I am so afraid that the evil that befell past harbingers of hope will set upon this man...God, please let your angels protect this beacon of light and reason and hope...Omen.
with the state that the country's foreign and domestic policies are in now, hell have his work cut out, but I believe he will definately rise to the occasion if elected. He will, however, receive criticsm but a man can only do so much
Hope he becomes are next president. One of the greatest speakers Ive ever heard an has great charisma. He gives us hope. Saying alot since I usually vote republican. He reminds me of rfk and jfk. Hope he makes it to November. It scares me that anyone in this country who trys to make change like Martin Luther King , Jfk, or like Bhutto in Pakistahn get assassinated. Hope hat doesnt happen.
Say goodbye to our future? Heck no-- say goodbye to the old type of politics that hasn't done so well for our country lately. Obama has inspired the seemingly un-inspirable: my generation. And that's a good sign.
I'd like to answer your question with a question. Did you vote for Bush, and did you think he was qualified to lead this country with 'basically no experience?' Experience being equal (though I'd say being senator trumps being a governor) I'd take Obama every time over Bush.
Please America . . . .Vote Obama, the rest of the world wants him as your President . . . Someone we can all respect. Thank the Lord finally we are looking at the end of the Bush era, and hoping for a new beginning.
President Obama, that has a nice ring. I am 42 yrs old, a 1st time voter, and I look forward to helping President Obama and the 1st lady, change this world.

TRULY an amazing speech....
What a refreshing change he will be as president. Someone that is eloquent and has a dynamic vocabulary!
Count my vote....
I had some problems in my life and am finally starting to get back on track. Today was one of those days where I just felt bleak about my future. This victory will propel him all the way to the WH..
He came to my high school on friday and it was pretty amazing to see such a huge politician there. I mean sure we've had 11 other presidential candidates at CHS but he was by far the one with the most hype, and the best message.
A moment that will define the campaign.
This is Our Man!!!...I can listen to this speech over and over and stil come to tears...he speaks like a president:)

wow - a politician that is actually trying to inspire and tell us that everything won't be easy? what a refreshing thing to get behind!!!
Spread the word! Young people are no longer waiting for the world to change. They're willing to force the change.
BARACK ROCKS!!! Iowa rocks! This, my friends, is the next president of the United States, who will make things right...I am so proud of and so humbled by this man...I am so proud to be an Iowan AND an American at this point FINALLY!!
I was there.....I seen it go down! i am proud!
He is a Kennedy-esque speaker. He is extremely charismatic. I am quite impressed.
Obama might be the greatest American orator since JFK.
OBAMA '08!
Best Speech! I have ever heard.
Great speech and great charismatic person. Support from Europe, Barack!
One of the best political speeches and moments in my 48 years.
He's going to win for sure.
Go Obama 2008!
I wasn't paying much attention to obama until now. This guy is amazing.
Obama is so inspiring and truly embodies what a REAL President should be and sound like.
wow. sounds like the Dr. Martin Luther King and Kennedy. very moving. forget his lack of experience, Obama can step up.
"Change Is Coming To America!!!"
if he wins, this is a speech for history classes 20, 30, 40 years from now.
I have never been so excited or anxious to vote. I could always care less about politics because it was always the same ol' political b.s. but now ever since I saw Obama on Oprah over a year ago, I have a renewed hope in politics.
he came to my high school and spoke. it was pretty cool. my high school is hoover if you're from the des moines area and you know where that is
It is amazing that they start chanting USA USA USA in the middle of a candidate's speech. True Inspiration. (at 2:59)
"Hope is that thing inside us, despite all evidence to the contrary, that something better awaits us if we have the courage to reach for it, and to work for it, and to fight for it!" If that doesn't inspire you, I don't know what does.
Wow the difference between listening to Obama speak and listening to Bush speak is staggering. I would finally be proud to say "thats my president" if Obama wins. Go Obama '08!!!
I Wish we in norwy had a politican like this. You americans are lucky.
"he is not Martin Luther King but he is HOPE for America" - I pray for God to bless him and to protect him from the coward's bullets.
I think I'm going to vote this year. :D
What a wonderful speech. This is what politicians are meant to sound like!
I am truly inspired, and it feels great to have that feeling back. No more blue states and red states, only the UNITED States of America. Thanks for inspiring me to want to get involved to help you make this change, Sen. Obama. I'm on your team now.
The thing I really like about Obama is that when he speaks, he speaks from his heart.
cheney and GWB had quite extensive resumes and "experience" when they entered office... and look where that has gotten us.
It is a matter of having good judgment and offering a new vision. I am a republican but I am a fan of Obama
This is the person to elect President of the United States. He is the person who was ment to lead us in this era.
Let's do this!
this man is the future of the USA
Sounds good to me!
A speech for the history books. Very moving...
Obama 08'
great speech
That was a great speech, but he has made a hell of a lot of promises... Im just hoping he'll keep them all.
.........OMG! What a beautiful speech, and it makes me "ready to believe again"!!! Everybody, STAND FOR CHANGE, Obama 2008!!!!
in response to Graymatter305: I'm still researching as well, but one thing he did do as a "change agent" is the way he funded his campaign. It's all from private donors and none from lobbying groups, if I'm not mistaken
Good speech !!! On to Victory !!!!!

The man could make us proud to be Americans again. I like that. Keep moving through the list, check off New Hampshire next please, everyone. =]
we shouldn't expect one man to change the world ...
our leaders represent the consciousness of the people...
if he means what he says and finds the power to do it and people support and vote for him then that means we're ready to move on ...
Heh, I'm British and I must say, that was pretty impressive.
good speech.
Well said!

He is going to win or say bye to our future.
two words, one letter:
Go. Big. O.
Oh my God! I've just seen the next president talk!!!
America is blessed to have a man as this, not lucky. Lucky is short for Lucifer, they used a "y" instead of an "i."
King David lead a country at 13 yrs old. Does one need experience 1st to have a child. Look at what all those who have experience has done or has allowed this country to suffer. We are still divided. It's time for Divine change, and Obama is the man of the hour.
at 15- i will take it easy on you-- suffice it to say, your belief in what you know will be tempered in years to come.
if i was american i would vote for this man.
Obama 2008! He has my family's vote in the NH primary!
You have my VOTE! This is how you speak in public President Bush!
"Change" is all fine and dandy. But what does this man stand for? And how about someone actually giving me a reply rather than a simple thumbs down...
he is hope
I used to be able to say america is number one in everything but not anymore, this guy can change that.
martin luther king jr style ;)
he's great
Wow, the next President of the United States.
That's what scares me. I'm afraid for his life. What happened to MLK and JFK? I'm old enough to remember how Robert Kennedy moved audiences. That's who Obama reminds me of. They got him too.
Hey! Norway is awesome!

A True Leader. Don't just vote Obama, get all your friends to vote Obama and use the internet to help him get more votes too. Bring back democracy!
