An honest and accurate depiction of race relations in America from a man running for President. He could have let the Rev. Wright thing drift away without this speech. It took guts and faith to speak this truth. This man will be a legendary leader.

The media can say what they want, but when you watch and just listen to how well he speaks and how excellent of a candidate for president he is, how could you vote for anyone else? This seems like a man who wants to put his best foot forward in everything and a man who has honest and good intentions for our country. Obama in 08!

I am 70 years old man from UK and the latest speech by Obama not only compares but shadows the speeches to date given by any American politician ( including kennedy and ML King) In as much as it was from the heart and his personal beliefs and ideas which reflect the views of most people in this topsy turvey world of ours. The world economy, Iraq, the Holy lands , Africa etal. Please let us make sure that he is indeed the next president of a great Nation of the USA- which may also help the world .

I have never seen a political speech before and I'm glad that this was the first one I saw. From a political stand point, he played every card possible: the race, the gender, the wealth cards were all played, but not shoved down your throat.
As for the speech as a heart touching piece, it was magnificent. He did not focus one one thing, he touched on everything and he now shines as a beacon of hope to all Americans, legal or not. He already had my vote, but now, I'm going to campaign for him.

I have been back and forth on my opinions about Obama over the months. This speech however, changed everything I had ever thought about these issues in this country.
I really did not think he would overcome the Rev. Wright issue. With this speech however, he not only overcame the issue... he rose above it... and he brought me with him.
I am convinced now, more than ever, this is a Man that will be able to lead our country in the right direction.

Finally somebody gets it! Finally someone rises above all the crap, & when put in a difficult situation, dares to address the situation itself instead of cutting all ties with the offending situation and running for the hills. Finally a presidential candidate who isn't the usual "well he's better than the other horrible choices" Finally a guy who if I scoured the globe to find one person to lead the most powerful nation in the world he is the "ONE & ONLY PERSON" I'd choose.

A Canadian here. Just want to say that, if I were you, I'd spend some serious time thinking about what Mr. Obama is saying. You're all really lucky to have a serious contender here, one who is critical of the very race he is in.

    Hey Americans.
    A guy from Europe speaking.
I, personnally admire Obama. I believe he is a truthful and benevolant man. He is a chance not only for your country but also for many countries all around the world. No signs of hypocrisy or greed neither in his speeches nor in his allure. Hope you vote for him and give no chance to lobbyism, greed or lies anymore.
You decide. You have the power. He does not want to be higher, he wants to be equal and together.

id like everyone to know, that as you are watching this, keep this in mind: this is a historical speech. everyone who, like me, has turned 18 this year, or last, will remember this speech in the future. your kids and grand kids will read about it in history books, much like Martin Luther King jr.'s i have a dream speech. this guy is special. not once did he say, "vote for me" or advertise himself for president. that shows that he is the real deal, not some lying politition with a gimmick.

The best political speech in my lifetime (62 years). I have been priviledged to hear some of the great orators of the 20th and now 21st century. This surpasses it all. This type of rhetoric can bring this nation together. This reasoning can heal the divisions that plague us. This honesty can begin a dialogue that will build bridges that never have been. This is a decent and good American.

Truly amazing.I have faith again. Finally someone is voicing what really needs to be addressed. He has refused to take the easy way out and has taken a bold step to take a sharp and honest look at the real issues and what we need to do as a nation. I am so relieved after so many years of lies, smoke and mirrors, and simple slogan answers to everything. Obama cuts through the distractions and sensationalism to speak the truth. He is intelligent, but even more important,he respects our intelligence.

As an African American it's good to see comments from other countries. What hurts me the most is that it seems as though older white Americans will not change their views. The news media focus on the negatives which are very few compared to the positives about Senator Obama. He has such a beautiful heart and I believe he really loves this country and would fight it's people and peace on earth. America let's do the right thing so history can say, we were the people of change.

Our country is a great country because of our diversity, because of our chance of opportunity, and because of our ability to rise and to unite as Americans about important issues.

Just by his lifestory he symbolises the best the world can be when we put away the things that divide us. In his short life he has experienced, being black , white, poor and rich. Mccain who wants the job because he feels its his turn or Barack Obama who truly communicates his understanding of the complex relation between the parties/races and desires that we all work for the greater good of Americas present/future financial health. Brilliant speech. Change doesn't have to start in November. It can start now. This makes me proud to be an American.

I'm amazed. My mind is so opened and I'm just...wow...this is what we need right now in America. Obama...you are my president.

This is a man I can truly respect. He speaks from his heart, tells what he feels, not what is politically correct. The change that he speaks of is possible IF we believe it is. He brings the hope in our nation and in ourselves that inspires us all to change. Keep hope alive (I know that was a different era, but still applies):-)
