Barack Obama speaks in Philadelphia, PA at Constitution Center, on matters not just of race and recent remarks but of the fundamental path by which America can work together to pursue a better future.
I'm happy that my first vote as a US citizen will be for Obama. I'm proud of him and what this country will become with him leading us.
never been prouder of a public official in my 55 years of life...how lucky america is to have someone like this to show us and the world who we are and what we can produce in our political leadership...
The media can say what they want, but when you watch and just listen to how well he speaks and how excellent of a candidate for president he is, how could you vote for anyone else? This seems like a man who wants to put his best foot forward in everything and a man who has honest and good intentions for our country. Obama in 08!
This speech was amazing, I didn't move for the half an hour. He told it like it is and no one can be mad at him for that.
An honest and accurate depiction of race relations in America from a man running for President. He could have let the Rev. Wright thing drift away without this speech. It took guts and faith to speak this truth. This man will be a legendary leader.
There are not many times in your life that you can say that you witnesed history and have the immediate sensation that that moment in time is more special than others. This is one of those moments.
The enemy plants seeds of fear, mistrust and despair but the spirit of this speech gives an abundance of vision, balance, honesty and hope. How refreshing.

Just as how every person in my generation learned Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's. speech "I have a Dream" in their English Literature or English Language class in high school, the next generation will learn Barack Obama's "A more perfect union" in their classes. Truly a revolutionary speech!

I'm doing a report for my speech class and all I can think of working on is this famous speech by the wise Sen. Barack Obama. His vocal, visual and verbal delivery are inspiring. His words were carefully used without hurting anyone. He shows a lot of respect to the American nation(I love that)
he is absolutely incredible. He makes me want to get up and change the world. That is why he is the best man for the job hands down, he is going to inspire change.
I feel honored to be able to tell my grandkids that I remember this man. And that I voted for him.

I am 70 years old man from UK and the latest speech by Obama not only compares but shadows the speeches to date given by any American politician ( including kennedy and ML King) In as much as it was from the heart and his personal beliefs and ideas which reflect the views of most people in this topsy turvey world of ours.The world economy, Iraq, the Holy lands , Africa etal.Please let us make sure that he is indeed the next president of a great Nation of the USA- which may also help the world .

This is the best speech iv heard him make.He is right Freedom is ether for everyone or it doesn't exist.
Even if he doesn't become president, he can hold his head knowing that he did not compromise his integrity. I hope he inspires future politicians to have the same compassion,open mindedness, honesty and grace.

Obama, you are so incomprehensively, amazingly, fantastically, spectacularly awesome.
I have never seen a political speech before and I'm glad that this was the first one I saw. From a political stand point, he played every card possible: the race, the gender, the wealth cards were all played, but not shoved down your throat.
As for the speech as a heart touching piece, it was magnificent. He did not focus one one thing, he touched on everything and he now shines as a beacon of hope to all Americans, legal or not. He already had my vote, but now, I'm going to campaign for him.

This speech has just caused me to jump ship over to the Obama camp. I don't think I've ever heard a speech that was more sincere, moving, or timely. I also loved the fact that he defended the man, not the action - what integrity.

Obama is just incredible. The way he certain topics into an easily understandable perspective is like no other. Another amazing thing about him is that how he can get the youth and teenage generation involved into politics. Go Obama, you've got my vote.

I am honored to be part of an American generation that is witnessing a historical moment of truth and greatness. It's as if Barack Obama was created for such a time as this. I believe in my country. I believe in unity. And I believe in Barack Obama as the next President of the United States of America.
This man is great, he spoke for 37 minutes without looking at a written speech on a paper. Wonderful. Obama for president.

As an African American it's good to see comments from other countries. What hurts me the most is that it seems as though older white Americans will not change their views. The news media focus on the negatives which are very few compared to the positives about Senator Obama. He has such a beautiful heart and I believe he really loves this country and would fight it's people and peace on earth. America let's do the right thing so history can say, we were the people of change.
Finally somebody gets it! Finally someone rises above all the crap, & when put in a difficult situation, dares to address the situation itself instead of cutting all ties with the offending situation and running for the hills. Finally a presidential candidate who isn't the usual "well he's better than the other horrible choices" Finally a guy who if I scoured the globe to find one person to lead the most powerful nation in the world he is the "ONE & ONLY PERSON" I'd choose.
Voting for Obama is not voting for a party or a candidate, it is like voting for a new America. He is not a traditional politician, he speaks not to a party, but to Americans. He is a great leader and is going to be exactly what America needs to move forward in this new century.

I'm voting for Obama solely on the basis of this speech and the clarity and courage it represents. Formerly I voted for Ron Paul and Mccain (the last two primaries he didn't win in '00 and '04.) So this is a big deal for me.

I, personnally admire Obama. I believe he is a truthful and benevolant man. He is a chance not only for your country but also for many countries all around the world. I'm a Canadian citizen who has deplored almost every president except Bill Clinton. Obama's speech brought me to tears and also taught me a LOT about both the problems in your country and in ours. Amazing speech. He has an eloquence and honesty that I haven't seen in politics during my lifetime. The fact that he delivered such a lengthy, complex and nuanced speech devoid of applause lines and quick soundbites is politically brave and doesn't take his supporters intellect for granted. I am also not american but I also beleive that he would make a lot of change in the world. Just by his lifestory he symbolises the best the world can be when we put away the things that divide us. In his short life he has experienced, being black , white, poor and rich. As the greatest nation in the world america should embrace a leader who represents the world. This is an opportunity americans-seize it being mindful that sometimes opportunity only knows once!
One of the many things I love about Obama is that the WHOLE WORLD loves him.

As an Obama supporter since before his presidential campaign, I have to say, that despite being preconditioned towards what to think of this speech by the media, I'm absolutely impressed and excited by his eloquence, intelligence, and articulation of a complex and nagging series of issues America faces. It helps wash away our cynicism and apathy towards national politics, and makes me want to be a more dedicated and committed citizen. bravo. Obama 2008.

Never did I understand the racial divide that occured in America and I was amazed by the fear and diversion tactics surrounding it and life in America in general. I am a European of the Buddhist philosophy who's home has been all over the world and I find myself inspired by Senator Obama's words. Here is a smart, brave and compassionate person who could have been of any race, gender or background, but is exactly what America and indeed the global community of leaders needs.

I really did not think he would overcome the Rev. Wright issue. With this speech however, he not only overcame the issue... he rose above it... and he brought me with him.

I just want to say one thing im a young kid who never cared for politics, and always looked the other way but when this man talks I listen and I have been part of something I never thought i will be part of. Thisman touches me in a way I feel that an angel has touched me. I swear god has built this man and sent him for us because he cares and its time us people not be tortured by selfish animals. I'm an American who lives in London. I moved here permanently eight years ago to get away from George W. Bush and all he's done against America. If this man gets elected I would seriously consider moving back to help move my country forward towards a better future rather than critize it from afar.

Barack is supported by the global community and is more in-touch with working-class Americans than any candidate in my lifetime. Two of his greatest strengths: Sound judgment and empathy. McAncient has neither. Barack will look to the most pragmatic and effective experts as his advisers. McAncient will pander to lobbyists until our economy has imploded while flexing our military muscle until we are at war with every hostile country in the world. This is truly a pivotal moment in U.S. politics.
Who else has both the courage and drive to lead our country in such dire times? I pray that a new hope can overcome old stigmas. I steadfastly support Obama for president.
Im an asian british and have been watching this speech, I have to say if Obama becomes your president you will be a leading nation and the world will be proud of you, at present you are the leading nation but the world is no way near proud of you.
Britain is having a similer problem to USA but in Britain we dont have any leadership as close to Obamas skills and understanding.

This speech is so full of complete understanding of all sides of these issues - it is so clear to me that he is someone who can bring us together. No matter how much people try to make him into a divisive figure, he is clearly meant to do great things and Will help solve this nation's problems, one way or another.

id like everyone to know, that as you are watching this, keep this in mind: this is a historical speech. everyone who, like me, has turned 18 this year, or last, will remember this speech in the future. your kids and grand kids will read about it in history books, much like Martin Luther King jr.'s i have a dream speech. this guy is special. not once did he say, "vote for me" or advertise himself for president. that shows that he is the real deal, not some lying politition with a gimmick.

I am sitting in Europe and watching all I can of the elections, and Obama is just really the right person to become president of the US. He is grounded, to-the-point and most importantly he does not shy away from conflict.

I'm only 17, but ever since I was 10, when we "elected" George W. Bush, I knew we needed a change. Someone who would tell it like it is, pull no punches and teach us unity not only as a nation, but as a people. i believe Barack Obama is that person, that's why I am voting for him in the upcoming election.
