It's not a bad idea,to add your own fine print, in regards to your hotshot service, basically stating, if freight stays on trailer after delivery date, daily storage rates of $750.00 ,plus hotel and fuel costs will be given to broker and customer and any other parties involved. As long as you have it in writing and they will pay, either insurance or they themselves will pay for it. It's basically a lesson in economics. ( it's not a threat,it's just a smart business plan).

In no way, shape or form, am I defending the broker; but all of this could have been avoided, if the driver called the recipient to verify the drop off date prior to accepting it. If I had been faced with the exact same scenario, I would have done that, because history has taught me many valuable lessons... One of which, is not to trust anyone when it comes to doing business. People will lie and cheat just to make a buck, and your best defence against this is to be proactive and cover your backside!

😂 I worked with Worldwide before. They are a double brokerage firm. I have access to carrier411 that helps identify them as a db. I love double brokered loads. I run to them doing butt kicks. 😅 I’m a carrier who dispatch my leased on guys. I had to have made an additional $20k this year by making them pay me Zelle and still cut them off. 😅 I booked one container load went 1080 miles with 3 different double brokers for $4000, $2900, $2900. I tried to get to the original broker, but was unsuccessful, so I end up making each double broker Zelle us $4000, $2900, $2900 each for that one load. I gave each of them the POD, let them figure it out. 🤷‍♂️ I did this numerous of times before by receiving Zelle payment from the double broker, cut them off, and still get paid from the original. Butttt 3 Zelle payments from 3 of them is different.
FYI, they can’t report you because double brokering is illegal. They will basically be telling on themselves. They will threaten you, but when you know the game you know how to finesse the finessor. 😆💪
Mannn, they was big mad. 50-60 emails. 🤷‍♂️
Point of the post, us carriers has to learn the system to strategically fight back. 💪

dd214. as a contractor for 40 years I thought I've seen it all but all must be in writing unless freight is not unloaded in a timely manner under the discretion of the carrier to be unloaded and put into storage and be lien put on the freight and filed in the nearest court and mailed to the customer and this must be with every load showing cost to unload truck time and cannot be moved with out payment as per agreement
