Class 379 Stansted Express Electrostar acceleration 0-85mph (135 km/h) from Tottenham Hale

- How fast do the Class 379 Stansted Express trains accelerate from rest. Here we travel aboard a train departing from Tottenham Hale heading north. The initial speed limit is 80mph increasing to 90mph. One hopes that one day the line could be upgraded to allow these trains to exploit their 100mph maximum speed.
0-60mph comes up in around 53 seconds in half a mile - a fair bit slower than your average saloon car!
These trains are made by Bombardier Transportation and are seen across the UK network in various guises - commonly known as Electrostar trains.
never heard the electrostar motor in such depth ..sounds amazing +!!
I think 0 to 60 mph in around 53 seconds is not bad going at all.

Word I was really shocked how fast they are relative to the 377s and other electrostars , the thing left Tottenham hail the other day like it was a 2009 stock.
@Solomon Clarke ahh it doesent matter at this point their all pretty good, but yeah 465s are always special
@Solomon Clarke I guess alstom was a super company for traction motors, I'm pretty sure they can make most trains accelerate fast like that if they want.
@Solomon Clarke actually I think the 365s are as fast a the 379s now that I think about it from experience.
