Missouri Turkey Hunting with Clay and Brent
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 11 мар 2024
- Clay Newcomb joins Brent Reaves to hunt Missouri farm country for turkeys. In the waning light of the first morning, Brent locates a roosted Tom and they get set for what should be a slam dunk. Their setup turns out too good to be true and the lucky bird flies off unscathed. After a heartbreaking morning and with afternoon hunting restrictions on the horizon, Clay and Brent spend the rest of the day reeling in a pile of blue catfish. The next morning, Clay and Brent change tactics and decide to split up. Clay gets close, but is cut off by a flock of Jakes and Brent’s luck changes with a perfect decoy setup and a tagged long beard. Revenge is a dish best served fried. Presented by @weatherby

Every video with Clay in it is a good one. And Brent too!😉
Brent too by the way
Yeah it's nice they let Clay do his thing he's the only southern boy on the meat eater crew
I agree. Don’t forget about Brent!
Brent and Clay are my favorite on the crew!
The “that sucks” hits hard
Haha I thought the same
Clay describing their itinerary as "hunt, eat lunch, take a nap, go fishing"... man what a dream of a day.
I love that you guys show your mistakes or situations that don't go so well. Good for the rest of us to see that even the best hunters aren't perfect.
The locater call by Brent is way better than Rinella’ s ever will be!!! Keep up the strong work Clay!!!
Never has a youtube video made my desire turkey any greater than this... great work guys!
I would never hunt but hooked my first fish in Michigan and I think I could now. This channel is amazing
Awesome video and hunt! All of Clay's are. One thing I missed on this episode is typically in Clay's episode he closes with a monologue that sums up the hunt and the experience. Love that on his episodes.
Clay + Brent = gold
“Big enough to make the grease stink” now that’s a good one Brent.
Missouri and Arkansas really have such a great wilderness, thanks for showing it off!
Dang that gets me fired up for waking up at 3 am and walking up into the hills to sit under a tree in the still gray of morning before the first birds sing, just waiting for a gobble to answer my call. Spring opener is just a touch more than a month away here in Oregon. I'm counting the days.
For real tho
@@rebekahbotello135 Well, the wait was worth it! First day of the season featured a quite morning and awhole afternoon and evening of hot gobblers who would not quite commit. My second morning started with tree gobbles at dawn and three strutting toms on a hillside at first light. It ended at 9 am with a bang and a nice bird down at 15 yards that came more than 200 yards across an open field to my patient calling.
I hope ya'll had as much success or more.
More Brent and Clay! Please and thank you!
Best turkey hunting video I’ve seen this season. My mouth was watering at the end there. Yum yum!
I’ll watch Clay anytime you put him on! I don’t care for the other two!
I can remember back to a time when we didn't see a single turkey for many years, things definitely improved.
Great film to watch with a good set of headphones! As a bird guy, gotta say that is an excellent and authentic soundscape. Felt like I was right there! Great work!
Thank you gentlemen for the delicious menu at the end
I like that old timer. I could sit down with that fella and talk and hunt for days. Old timers like him are knolageable and great friends to have.
Fired up for gobbler season right around the corner 🦃
Love the video! Really loved that there was some eating at the end. Well done.
Clay is the best. We definitely share the same level of passion for these things
Y’all are quickly becoming my favorite hunting channel along with Pinhoti Project. Y’all are knowledgeable, good conservationists and don’t tote around a bunch of false bravado. Just good ole boys that do it right.
Thanks for sharing your videos and keep them coming please.
❤ great episode as always!
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing
Fun hunt!
Love those two guys! So entertaining!
Great video
Man this got me pumped for turkey szn!
Another great episode!!!!!!
Wow. The AV1 encoding for the video looks fantastic. No loss of detail!
Great episode! How about some more info on that fancy vest Clay is wearing
Some surf and sky right there!
Clay is a good one. But why doesn't Steve make videos anymore? He only made 6 in this new season.
You guys are awesome
It's called turkey fever!!
Great content
First Lite needs a camouflage color with more green in it for Missouri spring turkey season. I don’t ever recall a Missouri spring turkey season opener on Saturday I’ve been hunting in Missouri since 1979
11:02 Brent proceeds to not drop to the ground and just run to cover. 😂
Anything with Clay and Brent is bound to be a good one!
Awesome 😎
Well..... success!!
this looks like so much fun, the lean meat.
Come to NH in May.... lots of birds and a great story on the reintroduction of turkeys in the state. 1970 something on the conn River valley border with vt ... let me know
This helps me make my decision, I’m going turkey hunting this spring
Clays the new Steve
Clay, keeping MeatEater somewhat relevant.
I need to do this!
This channel inspired me to recently get into hunting. It's a learning curve, but has been a blast. Im hoping to get a turkey tag this fall. I didn't win the lottery this spring, unfortunately, but at least I got the preference point!
if anyone sees this and wants to offer any advice, it would be appreciated. Ive been trying to teach myself, and there have been some struggles.
You sound just like me from 5 years ago. Now I hunt turkey, duck, dove, and hogs. I also trap beaver. Stick with it, join hunting forums, watch more vids, and ask more questions. The best piece of advice I got is to be patient and not call so much. You'll be a pro in no time!
@@mitchdroese84 Thanks man! I really appreciate the insights.
@thenewbohemian5779 Any time man. I also practice my turkey and duck calls while I drive. I got the meateater books too so I could learn different recipes. Squirrel is delicious btw.
They should try for the holy grail next. Crappie, morels, turkey on the same plate in one weekend in April!
I think it's funny that people will do Barred Owl hoots here is CO as a locator and we don't even have Barred Owls up here.
Red head redemption. Gonna have to steal that one.
S/W Mo here, St Claire county.
Haven’t seen or heard a gobble down here in last 2 years.
Good video. Clays ones are always good quality. Im so glad we arent seeing any more of that "the element" stuff.
Oh man, I know that pain
He'll be a good one next year....
The turkeys are gone where I live in Central AL you might find a few in some spots that have not been completely cut over and set in pines they should be a law to make these timber companies to se out and leave a certain amount of nut bearing trees for turkeys deer and squirrels
Wondering how long they have been holding onto this video for this timing!
Thats turkey hunting ive missed my fair share too tight of chokes a lot of the time . That spread can be the size of a silver dollar
No spurs ? Always give us a look at the spurs!
I killed two nice goblers opening day. Nice to get em but now I gotta change gears to call for my wife. Great video guys.
Where in Missouri are you hunting?
@@allenking357 Florida
What an episode! Brent and Clay are the dynamic duo! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
👍🐿👍awesome
How Central? Im From Dent County, MO! Loads of Gobblers around here!
Come to the straits of Mackinac and fish! I know a guy.
Is this from last year? Turkey season has not started in Missouri. Today is March 26th.!
I need to know what vest clay is wearing can’t be the new FHF rig
👍
Globber Dash 😅
The dream team
Is this an older video?. Turkey season dosent start here in Missouri until April.
Clay, turkey over elk?! Are you nuts Brother?!
I'll eat muskrat, raccoon and ground hog over a dang turkey ANY DAY.
Oh heck ya meateater in missouri, if anyone wants to know the best spot in missouri to turkey hunt its the may hilton in perryville southeast mo
No wonder turkeys ain't gobbling no more. When you miss em like that lol. Keep hunting I guess
What is the turkey vest clay is wearing
Gotta let them get closer there bud….
was this from last year????
Didn't you guys pattern your shotguns with your current Ammo?
👍🇧🇷
Anyone else notice that blue on his hat and say hell no to wearing that color on my head..
clay is the GOAT. but Brent is such an amazing personality to have around
I think I might have checked 4 or 5 time's if I had liked this video
God pardoned that first one, Brent. That's all.
Use mouth calls so much easier
Come on over to Southern Illinois and hunt the just under 290k of Shawnee National forest. We got a few birds on this side of that muddy river
Shhhhhhhhhhhh 🤫
No turkeys there. Over crowded
I’m a newer hunter… what’s that owl like call they are making with their mouths??
Turkeys shock gobble in response to a lot of different sounds. Crows, owls, car horns, gun shots, other gobbles
@@power5536 oh cool thanks for the tip. We have a lot of Barred Owls in our area that call could be useful. Thank you!
Not much of a 🦃 hunter blind hog can find a acorn
Well that's a dead gobbler that your not going to eat
Love the show love the everyone in it. But shooting a bird pass 30 yrds is not hunting
Algorithm defeated
jokes weren't the best but congrats!
Hopefully y'all keep thighs and leggs
How do you miss with a shotgun???🙄
And why take a 45 yarder with a shotgun 🙄
The background music during the calling ruined the hunt.
Brent Reaves doesn't climb out of overalls to go to church! How'd y'all get him out there?!
Missouri Spring Turkey has never opened on a Saturday in my lifetime, always opens on a Monday.
A lot of people consider the first weekend as opener bc most people have to work that Monday
Without knowing exactly how old Clay is but assuming he had his prom about 20 years ago, the 2004 Missouri turkey season opened on April 3rd in all zones. That was a Saturday.
That would have been the youth weekend. It's always the Saturday/Sunday before. @@PCTexasAM
@@PCTexasAM May want to check your information again, maybe you are referring to a "Youth" season, no Missouri Regular Turkey Season has ever opened that early in April and their are "NO" zones for turkey hunting in Missouri that I am aware of.
@@rgelsh85 Correct, then then next week and weekend closed and opens on that following Monday, the second Monday in the past after the Youth Hunt Weekend.
Calling too much
Um i hope u went n looked for that bird.. if not its no wonder you dont have any birds left in AR… like shooting a deer with a bow and when it runs off u wait for another.. SMH
First
Love this content, Clay is the man! This gets me all fired up. But PLEASE for the love of Turkeys, put an end to the generic rock n roll music in the background! It's dated and should be banned from all future production education. I'm trying to listen to Clay and Brent whisper and listen for turkey calls and in the back is some stupid face melting solo.
