- Collection of adverts featuring the boy and his dog drinking the orange juice drink along with the crows. These were promoted during Childrens and primetime TV Adverts in the Ad breaks along with kids comics.
These films are a retrospective and nostalgic look at what the offers have been over the years here in the UK and relive your youth
The channel mainly focuses mainly on Breakfast Cereal brands including Weetabix, Kellogg’s, Quaker, Nabisco & Nestle, however I like to include other things that interest me. Its a chance to act as a future archive/history for anyone who wants to relive the magic of youth when you used to rush down to breakfast, open the new packet and hope the gift was one you wanted
So for those of you who look back in the past with fond memories of Yesteryear and recall mascots then this is for you.
Where ads and commercials are included, these were all shown on usual ITV channels, including CITV, GMTV, POP, Disney, Nick Jr, Boomerang, Nickleodeon, Sky Kids ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, Carlton, Cartoon Network, Anglia, LWT, Pop Milkshake, SMTV, Boomerang and more

I swear, these ads were straight up way ahead of their time for the most part. Now I personally find the product itself intriguing.
I sent off for the Kia Ora pencil case and ruler set featuring the boy and crow characters and was the envy of my classmates, yay!
However did you do that?
@@harrystoller4147 There was an offer on the bottle labels in the early ‘80s. The ruler was only small, about 10 or 15cm. Think there was a badge too.

"Too orangey for crows" lol - yes I remember it now.
The music in the UK charts was mostly shit back when this ad was shown, so I used to savour every second of this when it would come on.
The first ad is basically like a music video from 1990

I like the look well made.
And is catchy theme song.
Cartoon style is good and well made. Little bit bright (to be fair these are old commercial.)
I haven't been this outraged since my daughter drew a picture of a golliwog.

@@cerealmad Kia Ora Fruit drinks now this could’ve easily been something of a true New Zealand staple in beverages yet I wish this could make a comeback to all supermarkets around our country and this is really something we could truly enjoy more often and learn from as a country that has thrived on Kiwiana culture

Genuine question because I'm a dumbass, but what exactly are the "racist" bits of these ads? There are black human characters and then the crows, animated wonderfully with Caribbean vibes for the music. Are they particularly black stereotypes? You've got a kid, a fat guy, a judge, a basketball player, a saxophonist, two crows moving a piano, a washer woman, an invisible crow, a scuba diver... what am I missing here? I sometimes think people just confuse these characters with the crows from Dumbo. But I'm genuinely here to learn, I'm open to hear any opinions on the matter.
...I love these adverts, but I remember being so disappointed as a kid when I discovered Kia Ora tastes like utter bin juice hahahaha
I suspect it is the characterisation of the boy in the straw hat. Also as you suggest the link with the Dumbo crows - so probably a link there. Who knows!!!! Great Ad though
It's copying a style of Racial stereotyping animations from USA.. but it's doubly distressing, because it's a common phrase from New Zealand.. but pronounced the same (incorrect) way as white colonists do. So it's a Māori phrase, used in marketing a product, pronounced wrong, and advertised with a Black American character.
