Oh Baby! I LOVE me some meat pot pies. Beef, Chicken, Turkey....they're all amazing. And a terrific economical way to use up any leftover meats. I mostly use a bag of frozen mixed veggies, ,maybe a small can of mushrooms, canned beef or chicken broth and 'Better than Boullion' beef or chicken base. My 'lazy guy' pie crust uses the food processor to do all the work and turn out a ready to roll dough in a minute or two. Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe.
Hi my friend. I absolutely love making these meat pies of any kind. I have leftover turkey that I roasted this past weekend. My husband and I are big vegetable eaters. I always have a dab of this and a dab of that leftover. I put it in the freezer until I get enough to put together a pot pie. It's wonderful, and nothing gets wasted. And I save all my drippings just like you. Even my bacon grease. That's flavor to me. Thank you Bonita and Raymond, for showing people what to do with leftovers. Take care..
Aww! Thank you and yes you are so right! Raymond had his fork ready to dig in!!!! haha, he is so patient. Thank you for enjoying our NEW recipe and I hope you get to make one soon! Bonita

I’ve been making chicken pot pie for many years. Sometimes I use just a top crust. When the kids were young I used cream of chicken soup for the gravy. Here in Lancaster, Pa, USA the Amish make a dish called chicken pot pie but it is more like a very thick chicken noodle soup often using homemade noodles.

I'm living in my mini van in Central Virginia. So I use a 1 burner propane camp stove. Last night I made almost the same but I used a can of cream of chicken with herbs, a lil gravy mix and water then about 5-6 lil half and half coffee creamers ,fresh parsley. Sauteed mushrooms, onion and 4-5 lil baby red taters cut in tiny cubes cooked that til taters were tenderish, added a can of mixed veggies .then served over white rice.i use these lil cups of ready to use white rice I used 5 of them and sauteed the rice to warm it. Then cut a bag of fresh brussel sprouts sauteed in oil and butter til golden on cut side then flipped and added a lil water to simmer away til tender squirted fresh lemon and fresh ground pepper on sprouts. Then plated up 2 plates and delivered dinner to two older ladies down the street one is 92 and the Mom of an old now passed friend. And the other is next door ,her daughter ,69 with Alzheimer's. Oh I put a pack of chicken tenders I sauteed 1.5 lbs with sage on them then chopped up in the pot pie mix. Turned out good enough
Oh my gosh!! You should have your own cooking show. Making a recipe from this and that....so cool. You remind me of me when I was a young girl and I would cook for my friends grandparents from leftover food in their fridge and made a new meal...They would love it!! I'm so glad you shared your amazing meal method with us and thank you for letting us know. Bless you for sharing with your neighbours down the street and 92 and 69!!! wow!! Thank you and message anytime....:) Bonita
Are you talking about my cast iron pan, it was my Dads pan and its about 60 years old or more. The colourful plate is one of many I have that I pick up in different local stores. I hope this answers your question? Bonita
@@jackfishmagurkin1093 OK that pan was one I got a few years back from a company called Peek 8! They are no longer in business but its one of the best pans I have ever used next to my Dads cast iron pan. Bonita
I make this right in my roaster, i just save extra gravy from my chicken ,cut my left over chicken up put it in, then i add the mix veggies allover the chicken, and i cheat a little, i use a ready mix flour, just add a little water and layer it over the veggies and cook, make sure you have enough gravy, 25 minutes later and you got a chicken roaster pie . lol
Aww! That sounds lovely Ricky! Thank you for sharing your recipe with us and your lovely tips! Have a lovely day and thank you for stopping by....:) Bonita
