For most of us long time fans, Dino Charge is what we've been waiting for. Yes, there are some idiotic fans out there who are begging for Power Rangers to be dark and gritty (which is not what it should ever be and if that's what you want then you don't want Power Rangers.) All we really want is developed characters, solid dialogue, decent acting, and - as you said - a show that doesn't talk down to its audience. Dino Charge's premiere was everything that Megaforce failed to deliver for two years. For the first time since RPM, I've found some PR that I can genuinely enjoy.
PRIS was sort of dark and it is one of the most respected seasons of PR. I think they should come out with a darker season for the adults fans, but make it an anime. Live action probably wouldn't work. Talking down to the audience is the worse thing they can do and as long as they don't do that again; I'll probably enjoy this season.
This review was great. But seriously, you DONT like the Turn & Smile? It's a cornerstone of effort and heart in Power Rangers. We hadn't seen that since SPD! And before that was Wild Force, where it had been a tradition since MMPR season 2! Besides, the way the Dino Charge theme did it was like "Oh hey glad you made it! Enjoy the show!" And boy did we!
Being a sitcom fan, of course I love the turn and smile :) But because the theme song is so epic, I would have liked a nice epic stance of each of the Rangers, like looking in the distance or something. Just a little of a mish-mash of epic legendary theme song mixed with 80s sitcom smiles :)
Also, not only would the roll call have clashed with the theme song, but the theme song gets updated with each ranger. Imagine the theme song when it got to including all 10 Rangers if it still had the roll call. AGONIZING PAIN, ANYONE? XD
I remember Claire (kendall/ms. morgan) saying when she filmed her opening credits scene and she was told to look at the camera, she was crying through the entire thing cause she was so shocked she got the part😂❤😍 She's the cutest
First episode went off to a great start! Dino Charge is the season that brings back the feeling that you want more, more and more!!!! And dude, next year it's gonna be Dino SuperCharge. Plus, the "cheesy look at screen and smile" during the opening was one of the great things and classic things about PR intros back in the Saban era (Zeo, Turbo, In Space, Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed Rescue, Time Force & Wild Force). Anyway, I really can't wait for the next episodes. Really looking forward to getting to know the rest of the rangers. :)
so if my memory is correct, aren't the Dino Gems that give Dino Thunder their power is the asteroid that hit earth and wiped out the dinosaurs? So that means Dino Thunder got their powers from Master Sledges astroid, hhhmmmm...... interesting

The reason she has so many hearts on her is because in the Japanese version, each of the villains gets power by drawing on certain human emotions. She draws on love and happiness, so her design reflects it.
I'm going to just address that back half of the comment, because the front is just ridiculous. Moffat is nowhere near Joss Whedon's league. Not even the same sport.
I watched this episode when it hit nick's website with my kids. All three of us really liked it. My son was pumped, my daughter was having fun and I was just smiling. THIS was what we've been waiting for. Nick has dropped the ball for four straight years now. But they just picked up that long fumble and ran it in for a touchdown....that will be my only sports reference. Hope you enjoyed it. I think this will be the season that turns things around for Nick's era of the franchise. As long as they keep this good pacing up, the characters fun and the energy going strong it will do great. I have high hopes for this series. More so than the recent ones. Also...apparently the 2nd half of this series is going to be Power Rangers: Dino Supercharge if rumors and hearsay on the internet is to be believed. And its a 22 episode season...which is REALLY short. But hopefully they can get their story in with as much as they can squeeze in reasonably before the finale. Here's hoping.

you know what gets me the most about power rangers? 22 years now and the bad guys haven't learned that sending a monster down to fight the rangers, get killed, revived and turned into a 100 foot tall giant only to be defeated once more is the ONLY way to EVER fight the power rangers And then next week, send down another monster, defeat it, grow, defeat again and again and again FOR OVER 20 YEARS that strategy hasn't changed at all
the new intro is a bit better then the last two BUT it still beats the dead horse with a dead horse with the GO GO Power rangers riff. AND AGAIN THE SAME DAMN SOUND EFFECTS WE HAVE HEARD SINCE MYSTIC FORCE! Lazy sound design hurts this show so damn much. at least the cast is more diverse this time. Sledge is freaking terrible, he looks like a shitty Shrek stuffed into armor. the original designs of the other generals just make him look worse. why couldn't they have just kept the original design? they kept the other generals. and wow is that CGI bad.

Also are Chase and what's his face deaf or something? a huge fight takes place not far from their camp and they don't hear it? or see the "T-rex" walk past, which btw, its not a T-Rex so they screwed up on that little detail. and I guess its just another cliche for Power Rangers to always have a freaking juice bar/ restaurant. and really, the Keeper is kind of a idiot for blowing up a spaceship which is towing tons of asteroids in orbit and that then come down to earth and kill him. That was a rather flawed plan I have to say. and wow does Metal Shrek have zero threatening qualities. At least with Lord Zedd they were forced to make him less intimidating, with Sledge.....his monsters are more impressive for goodness sake. I do like the actors, the dialog is still terrible but they at least give a believable performance unlike the last two shows.
Unshaved Stuff I expect effort. I know effort and Saban go together about as well as oil and water but if they wanted to TRY to at least make the show more bearable for older fans that would be nice. I'm going to give it 5 episodes just like Samurai and Mega Force before calling it a complete failure. it is starting out better then Mega Force at least, in number of Plot holes at least.

In all honesty Power Rangers needs to die. I liked the show up to Operation Overdrive. Then the acting went down hill. Compare the acting of say Dino Thunder to Samurai, I garuntee you'll see a difference. The acting is crap anymore.
I watched RPM but I don't remember anything about anymore. I do know the horrible acting trend was foreshadowed in OOD and finally set in during Samurai on up.
Give it another shot. I understand the hate for Overdrive, Samurai, and Megaforce, and just a bit for Jungle Fury, but give RPM another whirl. You might be surprised.

Don't worry Andre! They aren't doing Super Dino Charge. Instead they are doing....Dino SUPERCHARGE! This is a Nick thing. If the name of your show isn't SpongeBob, you get 20 episodes a season. So Saban Brands is getting around the formula by breaking stories into two seasons, differentiated by a different name. I think we're getting 40 episodes of the Dinos instead of 20 Dinos/20 Trains or whatever, so that's good. Really, that gives us 40 episodes of Dino Charge, and that's more episodes than some of the end of Disney era seasons. That said, this was an amazing episode from start to finish. You nailed it...it recaptures the FEELING of Power Rangers. Now our only memories of Super Megaforce will be wishing we could go back in time and have Chip Lynn replace Tzachor THEN.

It's truly a different character than what she was on Power Rangers. I guess they doing the nostalgic turn and smile from the MMPR days.

WELCOME BACK JUDD LYNN! This season looks like it can be and will be the savior from Megaforce and Samurai. The opening is amazing and the music is catchy and just wow. The storyline is starting off good. The storyline is starting much like Mystic Force, and who can go wrong with the Mystic Force storyline? One of the best Power Ranger seasons ever! Good job Lynn!

so i haven't watched power rangers in years and after watching linkara review most of it i'm curious whether i should give dino charge a shot. been getting hit with alot of nostalgia lately and rewatching childhood shows and movies so i'm willing to give power rangers a shot just need to know if i should watch this or just go to the original mighty morphing show.

Yes, Power Rangers is a kid’s show. But in my opinion, the best kind of kid shows are family shows. Shows that adults and kids and watch together and both get something out of it, Power Rangers is at its best when it’s a family show, and that’s what made Dino Charge a really good season. Whether you’re 5 or 25, you can have a fun time with this Morphinominal season!
This premiere was a complete turnaround from last season for me as well. The acting was solid, the characters felt like characters and not "TEENAGER ARCHETYPE #1077," and the writing feels like it has places to go in terms of character development and drama unlike the previous seasons. I didn't know that this series would have so many rangers, though. That...kinda worries me a bit, but for now I'm back into Power Rangers. I'm excited to see where this series goes.
I just got a thought. The Keeper's actions also created the Dino Thunder powers. Because the Dino gems were from the asteroids that killed the dinosaurs, and now we see that said asteroids landed on earth because the keeper put a bomb into the box that supposedly contained the energems that Fury was taking.
When it comes to taking a test at school and one question ask how did the Dinosaur become extinct, I can picture a kid using this episode to answer the question, lol.
Andre, I gotta say this season is shaping up to turn out great. I loved the intro up until the rangers together bit and it fell down to just liking it. Two things for you though; 1. you forgot to mention the shovel scene. 2 I think I know why you like Koda so much. Yoshi is a long time fan of the series. He was a member of the facebook rangers group and posted a lot on ranger board. That may be what is helping things

WELCOME BACK JUDD LYNN! This season looks like it can be and will be the savior from Megaforce and Samurai. The opening is amazing and the music is catchy and just wow. The storyline is starting off good. The storyline is starting much like Mystic Force, and who can go wrong with the Mystic Force storyline? One of the best Power Ranger seasons ever!

Zyuden Sentai Kyouryuger was one of my favorite seasons, so I'm SO GLAD that Dino Charge is a worthy adaption! This series is gonna be awesome, XD

Hey Andre were you in any type of movie because I think watched one that you were on a couple years back
so i haven't watched power rangers in years and after watching linkara review most of it i'm curious whether i should give dino charge a shot. been getting hit with alot of nostalgia lately and rewatching childhood shows and movies so i'm willing to give power rangers a shot just need to know if i should watch this or just go to the original mighty morphing show.

First time watching you after seeing you on Uncencored TV, and oh my gosh, you are a treasure!! I haven't laughed like this for so long, and your points hit spot on as well. I am fine with the turn-to-the-camera-smiles, but I didn't grow up with sitcoms and got overexposed, so what do I know. :) Going straight to watch the next reviews!!

Yes, Power Rangers is a kid’s show. But in my opinion, the best kind of kid shows are family shows. Shows that adults and kids and watch together and both get something out of it,
Power Rangers is at its best when it’s a family show, and that’s what made Dino Charge a really good season. Whether you’re 5 or 25, you can have a fun time with this Morphinominal season!
This premiere was a complete turnaround from last season for me as well. The acting was solid, the characters felt like characters and not "TEENAGER ARCHETYPE #1077," and the writing feels like it has places to go in terms of character development and drama unlike the previous seasons. I didn't know that this series would have so many rangers, though. That...kinda worries me a bit, but for now I'm back into Power Rangers. I'm excited to see where this series goes.

I just got a thought. The Keeper's actions also created the Dino Thunder powers. Because the Dino gems were from the asteroids that killed the dinosaurs, and now we see that said asteroids landed on earth because the keeper put a bomb into the box that supposedly contained the energems that Fury was taking.

Andre, I gotta say this season is shaping up to turn out great. I loved the intro up until the rangers together bit and it fell down to just liking it. Two things for you though; 1. you forgot to mention the shovel scene. 2 I think I know why you like Koda so much. Yoshi is a long time fan of the series. He was a member of the facebook rangers group and posted a lot on ranger board. That may be what is helping things
