This was a huge upgrade over my previous Google Wifi setup. I have 2 less mesh points than I had with the google wifi and my internet is better at all corners of the house. Mine is paired with 300/20 service and it handles it brilliantly.
I started my WiFi Mesh journey with Google WiFi, and I had that for many years. Then Eero came out, and I tried it. It has made a world of difference for many of my clients. Enjoy your fast Internet!
Thank you for going through all the settings that nobody else seems to want to go through. I didn't want to buy it only to be angry that content controls are behind a subscription paywall and have to return it for that reason alone. I think I'll go with the ASUS XD6 instead.
Hmmm, seems like your video is around the time that Amazon announced their gen 5 Echo and Echo Dot will also be remote Eero stations and that gen 4 devices would also be remote stations after the Oct. 20 updates. Would've been nice to have tested that as some of us would already have the Echoes.
I will definitely be checking this out more. I saw that this was announced recently. I personally don’t use Alexa devices, but it will be interesting to see how this works and test on video. Thanks for the idea!
Need to know it you see both 2.4ghz and 5ghz in the WiFi settings. Our current mesh doesn’t allow us to select which frequency so that we can connect smart home devices and should have been covered
Am I missing something, I have Gig internet service. I am using eero pro, which tops at 250mbs on WiFi, I average 200-250 mbs with it. I recently purchased the Asus XD5, with rated higher WiFi speeds. I average 350-400 mbs even with my Gig service. If I purchase the eero pro 6+, I assume my speeds will still be 350-400mbs?? Any help would be great
Hi there - must the device always be connected to your router via ethernet? If you wanted to extend the range, would you need multiple and use the first as a gateway/beacon?
You need one unit to be connected to your modem, yes. If you get the three pack, the other two satellite units do not need to be connected to Ethernet.
Hey! There are truly multiple ways you can tell if your router is going bad. The biggest tell-tale signs are: 1) You no longer can connect to your router 2) Your router frequently goes in and out connection wise 3) No longer getting power to the router Your router could also just be old, and it may be worth replacing anyway because the technology has just improved.
If you don't want the Eero competing for bandwidth with the ISP provided base station. I just asked for a router without WiFi as I've always had my own WiFi base station, the ISP gave me a discounted price on the router and as it's not a product they normally carry, they gave me a higher bandwidth router than I was paying for as that was what they had on the shelves.
You make a great point. It is best practice to turn off your WiFi network from your ISP provided router so it doesn’t interfere. Although the Eero is pretty good at switching bands to the less congested one.

@totaltechwnc, the 3 pack doesn't have ethernet jacks

Thanks for this tutorial video for me it’s one of the most easy to understand
Happy I could help!
Thanks for the detailed video. I have some older devices that only use 2.4. Can I disable the 5g temporarily?

can I use TP-Link wifi extender with this one ?
Theoretically, yes you could. Would I advise you doing this? No I wouldn’t. I would just get another eero device and add it to your system.

If you have a router/modem from ATT do you have to put it on bridge mode?
I don’t believe you do, but if for some reason You were to hook up yours, and it didn’t connect, I would enable bridge mode.

Very nice info
Thank you :)
All eero 6+ units have power and 2 network points on back
