"Jailbreaking" doesn't give you a virus. From my experience, "Jailbreaking" is nothing but benefits. It doesn't even slow down my device much, if at all.
If you are still having problems it might be down to the PS3 controller you are using. I had the same issue but managed to fix it. I was using a PS3 controller with the model no. CECHZC2H on the back and it didn't work. Then I tried one with model no. CECHZC2E and it then worked. Hope this helps!

FYI, notice he doesn't use the right analog stick to look around much. Why? Because it doesn't work right and its impossible to assign all the buttons. I've had this on my Mini for months with no solution to that problem. GTA VC works way better (100% correctly) on android in which the game supports gamepads natively. Not as large as the Mini but still great on my Note's huge screen :)
