Needless to say, it’s something I’ve always wanted and I’m glad it stayed true to the original submission.
I spent ages searching near green ob, finally came home with a gigantoraptor (base is peninsula between red ob/volcano by redwoods) and a nest had popped up right near there haha
This thing looks amazing. Honestly, I haven't played Ark since palworld came out, but I may have to jump back on for this. Great video btw. Thanks for all you do.
You're welcome, and thank you for always supporting me! I've been a bit slack of late, admittedly struggling for motivation after a rough spot but hopefully moving forwards I can get into a better rhythm and make things more frequently.
One thing I've noticed is the nests stayed long after I killed the occupants, like Deinonychus. Combined with a limit in spawns (I've been monitoring it and it's not gone past 16 nests for me yet), it seems that once it's filled up your spots are locked in. Which would explain why people are finding quite the variety in spawns, e.g for me there's zero on the West half of the map, even removed every tree with admin to double check.

I know a lot of console players who have been holding off because they are cautious of console performance and of bugs, it's been nothing but brilliant. I'll be going looking for a Gigantoraptor later today. By the way would you happen to have any tips on fences/pens? My dinos seem to keep climbing over the walls, I set them to wander so they aren't statues but they sure like to roam.
when the baby gets "adopted love" buff after u bond with it, is that 10% damage resist buff permanent or does the Gigantoraptor have to be near it for the buff to activate?
Small tip to make the taming easier: You can trap the parent while you work on taming the baby. It won't affect the taming process at all. Also make sure everything nearby is dead while you do this since the baby can get attacked during the taming process.
Oh trapping it works? Good to know! Many creatures refuse to cooperate once their path is obstructued, I tested for killed and tranqed but not simply restrained. Thanks!

Does the alloparental bonding ability apply to any creature you hatch/breed at base and choose to put in its saddle, or can it only bond with wild babies?
It works with bred creatures, the one I used in this was bred at base :) There seems to be a limit to how many you can do to each raptor, and you can unbond them if you want as well
Even though the dino gets the 30% imprint to the gigantoraptor can players still imprint on it? or does it not have an imprint to the player but only the gigantoraptor?

I'm really impressed with how similar to your original submission it is, and wasn't too far off with the dossier speculation so I'm calling it a win ;D
I do agree with you that the feeding egg mechanic is a bit annoying considering it may not be accurate, however if the creature is omnivorous it’s not unlikely that it would be willing to eat the egg of another species. Given that even other real world animals that are defensive of their eggs are perfectly willing to eat up those of another of their kind, and sometimes even their own eggs, it is plausible, we just have no evidence.
What happens if the parents gets too far or a wild kills the baby? Does the parent make another nest and spawn a new baby? Or does the parent become useless ?
you have to kill the parent after you tame the baby, and if the parent gets killed by a dino i dont think youll be able to tame the baby since the baby runs off and the next destroys itself after a while.
I haven't seen a new baby spawn *yet*. In one nest I killed the mother off too and the nest is still there 10 hours later, so it's quite possible they function like Deinonychus, with nests generating at the start and then being a fixed spawn point.
I've not found a way to carry or hatch any eggs yet, although worth noting that the ASA trailer showed baby wolves/argys and they can't spawn at all either. These trailer folk are deceptive!
Found the answer! - Put them in the Gigantoraptor inventory - Select the egg - In the central area, below the stats, there will now be two buttons "Place in saddle slot"
Only if the babies are in the basket and you are riding it. It is not a passive feeding trough like a maewing. You must be online, riding the gigantoraptor and because it only has 2 baskets you can only feed 2 babies at a time. @@Sleepymike91 eh I wouldn't say useless since it rerolls imprints. Although of course that was already in the game until Wildcard decided to "make it a new feature" lol. I haven't tested if it can fit gigas and carchas in the basket, if it can then it's useful. I'd rather sit AFK for a few hours while my baby carchas get fed than have to refill them every 5 mins. The whole Alloparent imprint thing is completely useless though. No point in spending the time building up the imprint by hunting if all it does is give the baby a 10% damage reduction when in range of the parent gigantoraptor. There are so many more useful PVP tames to have out instead of a useless chicken to provide a menial damage resistance

From some testing it seems yes, Honey will lure the parent for a single bite (but also the baby, which isn't helpful), and tranqing the parent will prevent the emotes from triggering. So a fertile egg and trap are the working ways so far. I've yet to test if simply distracting with another another creature will work, or if specific egg sizes are required.

no one talking about hatching eggs or raising babys like maewing. if it doesn't its more or less 90% less effective then expected. and massive disappointment.
It has the same feeding trough effect that the Maewing does for baby creatures, and on top of that its roar can be used to reset baby imprint requirements so if the baby wants kibble the Gigantoraptor can scream and the baby will change its mind.

The imprint refresh is shown @ 04:00, baby feeding is not the same as a maewing, and will instead feed only while the player is riding. It's not intended to replace the maewing at all and serves a different function.
Community-submitted creature? Who was responsible for the mechanics of this dino? The whole remove rerolling imprints for this dino's is completely tone deaf and stupid. Weak content at best.
The cryopod rerolling was confirmed to have never been intended, but they never saw it as a priority to fix, I guess with the Graptor coming they finally got around to it. As for the community submission part, the mechanics are merely suggested not guranteed, and that specific part was NOT part of the submission. The original design was an auto-imprinter with a damage buff near babies.
This is a game about dinos. It only makes sense for the mechanic to come from a dino rather than a cryopod. I for one welcome this dino. And instead of having to cryopod several dinos to then have to throw them all back out for rereolling the imprints you can just do a simple roar from the Gigantoraotor. EZ PZ

you dont see the full potential of this dino.... also crashing every minute is not normal... i had no crash since weeks.
Jjjjj
big disappointment
no one talking about hatching eggs or raising babys like maewing. if it doesn't its more or less 90% less effective then expected. and massive disappointment.
It has the same feeding trough effect that the Maewing does for baby creatures, and on top of that its roar can be used to reset baby imprint requirements so if the baby wants kibble the Gigantoraptor can scream and the baby will change its mind.
thanks idk if the vid was too long and i skipped it. But that's its only op feature we all want. No idea why all the vids i seen dont highlight this. @@snakemaster254
The imprint refresh is shown @ 04:00, baby feeding is not the same as a maewing, and will instead feed only while the player is riding. It's not intended to replace the maewing at all and serves a different function.
damn so another useless tame we dont want. cool @@freynlives
@happyday3637 nowhere near useless. Great for enhancing dinos for bosses
It’s no Palworld creature lol
basically its a poverty maewing.....
Great for Pve……. Zzzzzzzz
EZ PZ
It’s useless
