I own this watch. I can't recommend it highly enough. Longines quality, style, heritage and price can't be beaten. Although it's sometimes difficult to see the time. The initial set up is tricky, but like riding a bike once you have done it, it's easy. Trust me you won't be disapointed.
Was struggling to set the month and moon phase. Your video was just what I was looking for. Thanks a lot. It's a beautiful watch indeed. Thank you for uploading.
Fantastic watch for the money, packs a lot of horological punch for sure. Is it a busy watch? Yes. With that said, this is a watch for an enthusiast and is looking for impressive complications. For me it as at least and would definitely add this to my collection as a dedicated dress watch. I wear suits 5 days a week so it would surely get its use. This is definitely a watch you want a winder for because resetting it every couple weeks could be maddening.
thank you for a really good demo.i have jusr bought one of these lovely watches and sometimes the instruction booklet can be a bit confusing. now i know how to set it up. great video.
no need for manicure. it will not last because my hands will get dirty everyday all the time. doing a lot of hard stuff for hard earn money. I think I'll be doing follow up vid soon. thanks for watching.
Hi thanks for the quick reply... I've found the phases of the moon on page 76 of the manual.. I know how to move the moonphase dial, but don't know what moon position it should be at as yesterday was the first quarter...
a bit tricky at first. pull the crown to the 1st position & turn in forward. i just refer to the manual provided by Longines for the phases of the moon. if you turn the crown backward, it will set the date & month. thanks for watching.
That was alovely video...thanks for explaining everything so nicely... I have the same watch but I have one question....apart from the automatic self winding that the watch does based on our hand movement, how else can we wind it manually ? I'm not sure which way to turn the crown to manually wind it as winding it in either direction feels the same. I would be happy if you could tell me that. Thanks
Shazad Irani it is very seldom for me to wind the watch manually because it will (in time) will damage the crown gasket. i just shake it gently, left to right. but if you need to wind the watch, it is clockwise. lol.
thank you for reviewing this watch. i am wondering if this watch is an annual calendar watch. i really like it but i am looking for the watch that i will wear every day without adjusting the date once every month.
it is not an annual calendar watch. there is nothing you can do about adjusting the date monthly. digital watch might suits your need. thank you for watching.
I have recently bought this very watch. Nice bit of kit. As the video shows yoy that it has a pin ( metellic) to adjust the moon phase part of the watch. Good idea and not . The metal pin can scratch the body of the watch,so, from that point of view a bad idea. I would use a humble tooth pick to do the job. Nice video by the way. I learned how to do the workings of it.
Great Review!!! I'm gonna buy this watch soon, but I agree to your opinion on the complicated dial design that too many hands make you difficult to check the time. My opinion is getting rid of date hands and hour small hands and putting date function on the 9 o'clock chronograph. Or making a date window at the left to the index 3. Anyway even though someting in mind, this watch is my favorite in my budget, so I'll buy it soon. Your review gives me a big help. Thanx!!!
Please tell me what is the function of the small clock(two dials one)? The clock besides the minute and the hour quarter. The middle left one! And how does it work?
i think you mean the dial at 9. I hope i can explain this well.. the smallest hand is the second hand; the longer hand is the 24 hour indicator. I hope you understand my explanataion. LOL.
Hi Yes i thought about that...So a full or new moon would be top dead center (TDC) A new quarter left side and last quarter right side... Many thanks for your help....
then i suggest you do it the 'safe way'. set the date to 22 october. set the moonphase accordingly (pg 76). then wind the date until it reaches 24th october (today).
Nice Watch..just that too many needles..this is the cheapest u can get for a calendar..I think chronograph shouldn't not mix with calendar..then it will be cleaner..
There is nothing funny about the movement (7751) the beauty is not about sharing the same movement but rather on how it is put to use. A few other watchmakers share this movement. ERNST BENZ CHRONOLUNAR AUTOMATIC is using the same movement with bigger case but of course more expensive. By using the same movement in different brands, a lot of people can appreciate what they have. if you want something different then go for URWERK.
nice review. i think this watch is one of the best designs of any less expensive than the ultra high end. excellent detail, but maybe they overdid it a little. i always want to like Longines watches for their classic style, but usually I feel they miss the mark. either black markings against a white dial, or white on a black dial. a little one dimensional. but this one is a stunner.
What's the point of your ignorant comment? The value of a watch can be both objective (i.e. market value) as well as personal/subjective. I have a Rolex Oyster Perpetual from the 1970s which has a market value around 2K but I wouldn't sell it for 10K due to its sentimental value. ETA movements are not prestigious to own while VC obviously is, but your comments show that you can't buy class.
@@SuperRandomHobbies it most certainly does not. The genuine has a caliber L682, which this does not. The ETA 7751 is not used in the moonphase, but rather it is used in the newer double and triple dial chronographs.

Great Review! Love the watch! There is nothing wrong with a hard working man who gets his hands dirty! God bless you!
Glad you like it. thank you. thinking of doing videos for all the watches after years with them.

it was impressive in 2012... and still a very impressive movement until today. lol.
Nice watch and very good presentation of how to handle the settings. Thanks.
Perfect Video! Thanks for the Information!
Beautiful Longines

Good for you mate!!! You deserve that watch!!!
My daily driver watch with bracelet.
Great video. Thanks!
Fair point with confusion with the hands overlapping. Also I like luminous for low light so I need to look elsewhere.
Thanks for perfect explanation and now I want to start setting.
Good choice.. all the best. Lol
Great choice of watch. Well worth the money, good value here.
still wearing it. lol.
A great review of a great watch...

Love this watch. But i am a Zenith 2001/2002 edition el primero 410 triple calendar moonphase. Blue dial! End game for me
It's the only one I like in all kinds of Longines watches.

browse the internet! just type 'moon phase' and you can see the moon phases diagram. hope it will help and sorry for the late reply.
you should get one. you will not regret.
Nice video... but still a bit confused on how to set the moonphase...
Longines makes some really great time pieces, but accept for the Saint Imier collection, there's no lume
yes, yes... i don't think they have lume in any Master Collection range.

April-June ? You meant April-May right ?
Bout a week ago (week ago)
sorry for the late reply. around USD3K.
Did you just make the watch.....your hands dude!
can't really make them clean. I'm doing a lot of 'dirty works'.
then i suggest you do it the 'safe way'. set the date to 22 october. set the moonphase accordingly (pg 76). then wind the date until it reaches 24th october (today).

It is a modified 7750. you need to do a lot of reading about valjoux.
