  • In 2017, ABC News' David Muir anchored the network's live coverage of "Great American Eclipse" from Charleston, South Carolina.
    He'll be anchoring once again on Monday, April 8, for the historic "Eclipse Across America." Millions are estimated to travel to witness it, while scientists study the effects on Earth's atmosphere.

    It's hard to believe that over 7 years have passed since the 2017 Solar Eclipse. Today is my one and only chance to see one!

    I was at my job at 18 when it happened and it was so beautiful first time ever seeing a solar eclipse

      Lol there’s literally a total solar eclipse about every year and a half

      Eclipses are common, but they happen in different places.
      The next ones that will cross the US is in 2044 (just montana and alberta) and 2045 across the middle of the country so there'll be a 20 year gap until the next one in this region

      There's one every 2~ years, keep in mind that the next one in the USA is in 2045 though

      If you count partial and annular eclipses too, there's one about every 6 months.

      You can witness a solar eclipse like by just going to alaska during the 6 months of darkness. It;s the exact same look

    🙏💝I’m grateful I was here for it in 2017. We didn’t have a good view today 4/8/2024. But it’s still an amazing experience. 🙏💝

      northern half isn’t looking as bad anymore just a bit cloudy but nothing crazy

    Today, folks, do yourself and everyone else a favor during totality and all the effects… watch and LISTEN. If you’re yelling, whooping, hollering, you may not be fully watching but mostly you’re missing out on what everything sounds like around you.

    I wasn’t able to see the full eclipse, but i’m glad others enjoyed it. Can’t wait for another chance for the next total solar eclipse in August 2045. See you guys then.👀🌙

    I have never seen the eclipse in 2017, I was 18 years old that year. Yet I’ve never heard or seen something like this, now I’m 25 and I’m just now hearing about the eclipse and what it is…

      Yeah, if you can go to the path of totality is 100% worth it, if you can't this time, you'll need to wait until 2045

    I was just outside of Hastings Nebraska for this eclipse and it was absolutely breathtaking!! Took one picture of the sky when it was at 100% and it was insane!!e and my pops cried after.. a very emotional moment for us

    There is no way the moon moved in downwards, stayed still talking to the sun for a few minutes, then move upwards. This is God's work.
