I would really hate to get that helicopter ride fee on the hospital bill when it arrives in the mail, I can imagine it, staggering

The bill was probably so large that they had to send it via freight. lol

Why is there an engine always there for landings?

In case something goes wrong with the landing. They have immediate fire rescue.

I was wondering why you fly someone from boston to to rhode island

I believe this chopper is owned by a Boston hospital, but I believe it covers that area in Rhode Island? I could be wrong but I believe that’s how it was explained to me.

Rhode Island Hospital is a level 1 trauma center. Medflight most likely picked this patient up in a town south of Boston where R.I.H. would actually be closer.

@@firefighting-videos Boston Medflight and New England Life Flight both serve Rhode Island. The most likely reason for going to R.I.H. is because that hospital is a level 1 trauma center and the patient was probably picked up in a town south of Boston that was geographically closer to Providence.

I dont see how that cant be terrible for those engines to just shut down like that with no cool down time.

Rolls Royce engineering. Also there's a fuel intake valve that is closed when the helicopter is shut down, prevents pressure related malfunctions.

No offense, but civilian pilot. Not military.
