Debt free here, and used the debt snowball method! For Christmas, I start shopping in March, never pay full price, only pay cash, and generally buy practical consumable things. I also only buy for my kids (adults) and hubby.

I want to show this in my class. Could you please provide the link to the study you quote? Thanks!

I am paying extra on my CC debt. But I don't agree with pay every penny off before investing. My ETF'S give me much higher interest than my CC charges. Now when my interest income improves, I will start crushing my debt.

It's really important to look for ways to cut expenses! I try to do a super "cheap" dinner at least once a week, like pancakes/eggs/fruit, grilled cheese sandwiches/tomato soup, leftovers, Cuban black beans/rice, refried bean tostados, Mac n cheese, etc. It helps a lot because I can control my food expenses easier than other things like gas, mortgage, internet, etc.

Why cut expense rather than make more income... Prices don't drop for certain things yet having too few dollars IMO create problems!!!

I had the pain of watching a loved one constantly struggle financially including their senior years. I save for retirement but can do better with discretionary spending. This is the 2025 focus. For example, although I paid for it immediately, I overspent at Xmas. I did a spreadsheet budget for this year and found some great deals that fit in the budget for Xmas 2025. I also put $ aside each month for Xmas including entertaining, baking and decorating.

2 ad reads during a 7 minute video is outrageous. I have premium so there could be an added one in there as well if you're not...

I find it so hard to stay motivated, and working 60 to 70 hours a week is getting tiring. what I make every month is enough to make the payments.

    • @thebes118

@christypollock5874 I have daughters in the same boat. I tell them to open a brokerage (free), and start buying high yield ETF'S. Even if you can only put in a little each month. You will also discover BDC'S, REIT's and tax free later. You just have to get into it all. Also put a little away for emergencies. Even starting small will inspire you. It did me. Now if my girls would just keep it between their ears.

You're not a credit card person if you do that. If you can't pay it off every month, then don't use them

how would you recommend i enter the crypto market? I am also looking at studying some traders and copying their strategy rather than investing myself and losing money emotionally.. What's your take on this approach? and How can i reach her, if you don't mind me asking?
