That opening scene looked like it was straight out of a movie 🔥 Congrats on the boat man, much respect for attacking the sea sickness head on. Great example to set, keep grinding man!
My son is getting his 1st fishing rod because of you and your friends. I just bought a rod too, I can take him up to the lake. Trying to explain to him that he won't be able to catch crabs in the Appalachian mountains, well that's another story. Thank you!
My husband introduced me to your videos and now I can’t stop watching them. Lol love your new boat. Drink lots of water before you go out in the sea. My father gets sea sick very easily and he started drinking lots of water before he would go and it’s helped him a lot. He will still bring along the sea sick medication but he won’t take it until he is out in the water and (only if he feeling that drinking of water didn’t help him.) I can’t wait for more of your videos. I hope someday my husband and I move to a place where we can go fishing every day without having to drive 2-4 hours to get to a location. But for now I live off your adventures. :)
thank you. glad you found the channel and are liking the content. lots more boat videos coming soon! and thanks for the tips. I'll be sure to stay hydrated :)
Couple tips for you Matt 1. First purchase for the boat.. BUY GPS and sonar. These two things are bar none the most important items you can own for fishing. If you're strapped for cash you can get the navionics GPS app for your phone. Sonar is under 200 dollars for a basic unit. Location and fishing structure... when it comes to rockfish and lingcod, if you're off by even 10 feet it's the difference between a 15 fish day and getting skunked. 2. Trim down to minimize bow raise for planing. Weight distribution also has a much bigger effect on a small boat like that.
Inflatables are excellent fishing boats, I had one for about 15 years. One idea for you...get a handicap walker, and secure it near the middle of your boat. This gives you a place to mount rod holders, plus it allows you to stand up and fish, pull crab pots, etc. without worrying about falling over. It's easy enough to step around when going fore and aft. Sounds crazy, but it worked great for me!
Great! you will have fun with it! Being single in the craft you should wear your PFD all the time, carry the radio, signal mirror, knife (incase you get tangled up) and your cell phone.
That opening shot was super dope. I think that would look really good as an opening for all of your videos. You can make your logo appear right as your body is out of frame. Just a thought from a longtime fan.
bigwoo Then drop some hella sick grimey dank dubstep with a phat 3d logo with like strobe light rainbow colored fish with bluntz in their mouth poppin off that bitch, then in super deep echoey voice "its tha mutha fuckin fishermayne bitchhhhh" with an airhorn as we fade into the video. Thoughts?
I remember my first boat and many of the same feelings you had. It opens up a whole new world for those that love to fish and be on the water. Make sure to attach the red kill lanyard when you are running, it's easy to end up in the water and you don't want to watch your boat continue on into the sunset.
You could do a video of you testing out all the sea sickness remedies you know and make a video about it to help other people who get seasick. At least then something positive would be coming out of you getting seasick.
Thanks man. A man in a van with a SIB. I do this too, a fantastic platform to get on the water quickly. My Seago 230 is unpacked and ready to go in 25 minutes, I opted for a 12v 40lb trolling motor and 110ah battery which is plenty for my needs, quiet and easy to pack in the van, the battery recharges there too. Love from Scotland
Watching your more recent videos and where you’ve taken things and how good a fisherman, boatman, life philosopher, shore beach/rock fish cook, etc you’ve become it’s fun and interesting to watch these older videos. Good on ya’ for dealing with your seasickness with fortitude and strength. Now that’s a man who loves the sea and his fishing. Keep going strong Matts!
That's what they say, but I've had some really bad days fishing where the seas are rough, raining, no fish, getting seasick, a day at the office ain't looking so bad.
I hope so too! Enjoy your videos! I am land locked but grew up on the Missouri River. Fished out of a 12 ft aluminum boat with a 5 horse motor with my Grandpa. Been on the ocean in a small boat and luckily I don't get motion sickness , Hope you can beat it!
Hey man. I just want to say that I'm such a big fan of your content. It's been top notch from the beginning, and the videos are only getting better. Hope to see more of you in the future and thanks for the vids so far. Greetings from Holland
I watched a lot of videos related to fishing and small inflatable boats. For no reason, I must admit that this video, however simple, is one of the best. A wonderful expression of pleasure and happiness from you. I bought a HONWAVE T30 AE with a small HONDA BF. I can't wait to try it.
Nice!! Congrats on the boat! Glad you're getting a trailer, dragging that boat up the launch ramp is pretty rough on the bottom. Also, little tip, when you're picking up a buoy, go for the line, not the handle. It's a lot easier to grab. Also, make sure you get ALL the line out of the water before you start that motor. You don't want the prop wrapped, or worse! Stay safe man! Excited for your upcoming videos!
Hi mate, i have a very similar boat that i launch from the beach here in New Zealand. You should consider putting some hydrofoils on the engine. It will stop the bow rising so high when your going slow, and you can plane at lower speeds. Great vids, keep up the good work!
Glad your maiden voyage went well bro! I bought and installed a SE sport 300 hydrofoil for my outboard motor to reach plane quicker and it did help a lot and noticed a huge difference! Can't wait to come aboard and fish with you captiaon! I need to take mine in for a maintenance.
Took me twenty years to figure it out but Cabela's had a sale on the SE sport this fall while I was refitting my boat and trailer so now I have less worries about balance in my 14' Alum with 15hp Suzuki. For me best trim position has been all the way down to help get on plane. Your best trim position may change with hydrofoil. My bro has a rubber boat and I liked the metal deck. A bit scary in a rubber boat in 15ft swells when everything disappears each swell.
Same here. Drop the trim all the way down and lock it. Glides right through rough water. Purchased fuel filter with water separator and an external 12V fuel pump to pump and clean the fuel and will be cleaning both carbs.
Hey Matts, just FYI about the crab trap buoys (aka that laundry detergent bottle you used :D), per CA DFG: "• Crab trap buoys must display the “GO ID” number of the operator of the trap. This is the unique 10-digit identifier assigned by the Automated License Data System to your profile. It will appear on your fishing license and all documents purchased through the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW). Crab traps must possess a buoy and each buoy must be legibly marked with the trap operator’s GO ID number as stated on his or her sport fishing license. "
Per DFG: "This regulation will help to ensure that crab traps are being used by the designated operator of the trap in order to prevent others from unlawfully disturbing or removing crab from crab traps." However I actually read a little more into it this time, and it turns out this reg doesn't apply to hoops nets :)
Awesome to see you got a boat. However, it's a little small for fishing along the NorCal coast. The swells can be pretty sketchy and it's especially dangerous out there in the spring because of the strong winds which are common that time of year, so be careful. I believe salmon fishing can be productive right outside Pillar Point harbor by the buoy early in the year so April/May. Could be a good alternative to fishing further off shore where salmon feed on krill that time of year. If you're new to salmon fishing and can't make cable baits, try FBR's and Apex's. Use red, green, clear for FBR (use anchovies over herring early in the year) and the watermelon or cop car patterns for the Apex. Hope this helps. Tight lines.
FYI, pillar point is not protected. Just outside the harbor there are shallow reefs and in low tides they break. Got a crab line caught in my prop few yrs back about 100 yd outside the harbor. Wave broke on us and almost sunk my boat. 21 ft proline wa.
Just want to say that I love your videos! For sea sickness, rather than taking pills I would highly recommend trying Sea Bands. The British navy issues these to all of their sailors, and I have to say I swear by them! They are wristbands that has a button sewn on the inside of them, you place them three fingers below the first solid line on your wrist, and no more sea sickness! They are pretty cheap, and last pretty much forever with average care.
I have to admit, little sick of drone shots. Everybody and their grandma seems to have a drone these days, but that opening shot was fuckin' fantastic.
or bring a compass and memorize (or write down) bearings to two landmarks. i wouldn't trust handling my phone in a tiny boat like that. more accurate than eyeballing it like you were doing and making use of a compass - you'll be even more of an outdoorsman!
Love watching you fish, you remind me so much of a childhood friend who lost his life in an car accident. Keep staying true, and can't wait for future videos from you 🙏
Reason ur vids are so good...you keep it real. No editing out mess ups or things that some would be too prideful to show. Always keep'em this way, your subscribers really appreciate it...and it will garner you additional subs.
Awesome video! Hi Matt, when are you going to have more butter t-shirts? I just ordered a steelhead shirt and a lingcod sweatshirt, but what I really want is the butter. Thanks!
Where are all the places you fish at beside halfmoon bay bro i want take my kiddos if anyone can tell me a good place and safe to fish with my kids I'll appreciate it thank you keep on fishing brother
This is amazing, I’m so happy for you! I absolutely love your channel so much and I just can’t wait for these upcoming months. Congratulations man, what an accomplishment for you, your channel, and the amazing community you have brought together on RUclips! Keep doing what you’re doing.
Nice boat! Watching this video brought back a lot of good memories when I used to own a boat. I believe the reason why you are not planing is because you are not going fast enough. Good luck and go catch 'em!
Highly recommend buying a pair of "sea bands" for motion sickness. My wife bought some for our cruise and they actually work. I ended up using it also during our flights. Helped calm my anxiety down. I would probably wear them all day just for that reason lol
BOAT= Bring Out Another Thousand. Good luck captain have a blast man. Catch a bunch!! Plained out nice. Don't need to go full throttle. Go easy in the waves.
If the swell is coming in from your rear you need to correct yourself and go bow first into it , that way you don't get blindsided by a sneaker wave. Were using freshwater catfish heads? Normally you should use salt water and freshwater bait.
Bonine works great for sea sickness. I love fishing, use it for overnight fishing trips in similar conditions to what you showed. Just make sure to pack some sandwiches because i feel hungry for some reason, not sure if its a side effect. I used everything for years before with no results, dramamine, seasick wristbands, ginger, nothing worked but Bonines does.
You probably need a longer tail shaft engine so it sits farther below the boat. It should allow the pressure to level the boat out more.. Or you are going to need to add a counter weight in the front so that it levels out the weight more. Center of gravity vs center of thrust type stuff. The funny part about slowing down for a no wake zone is that you actually make far less wake on plane at speed than you do at partial throttle with the nose up.
I felt a bit uncomfortable the first time I took my inflatable boat out. I actually stayed close to shore compared with you that went out quite a distance from shore. I now feel more confident in myself each time I go fishing. Each time I go out i go further and further out. I enjoyed your video. Keep up the good work
Love the nice new compact boat. Excellent choice. From one inflatable boat owner to another I recommend you cut a plastic placard or nicely sand a wooden placard smooth to put the stickers on then hang them off both sides using rigging ropes that are normally wrapped around inflatables. Just offering the same advice given to me when I got mine years ago. Losing those stickers and getting fined would suck. Anyway, excellent video once again my friend.
Lets go lets go...... hell yeah! Nice boat brotha. You be coming up in the world of fishing next is a butter sponsor. Keep up the good work with the video.
Congrats on the new boat and motor setup, that is sweet. I remember going fishing with my dad and family and we would troll local lakes for bass. My dad got this fishing line that was a different color every twenty feet, so you would know exactly how much line you were putting out when trolling. I wonder if they still make fishing line similar to that because that would be a very easy way to see how deep a certain fishing spot was. You could always purchase an inexpensive depth finder that has a app to your cell phone also. The GPS thing, you can remedy by just getting a free or very inexpensive app for your cell phone and you will never loose your pots. Thanks for the video and info. God Bless bro.
For those who have been here from the start - yes I still get sea sick, but I bought the boat anyway 😄 . Let's see if I can get over this thing.
Fisherman's Life i guess that’s the life of a fisherman 😃
Fisherman's Life congratulations!!! 🎉
*buys those seasickness braclets*
Fisherman's Life I LOVE YOU SO MUCH IN NEXT VID CAN YOU SHOUT ME OUT
Ginger beer kills it for me. Try it next trip!
Good job youtube. We got this guy a boat.
Dauntless light it's about time. He deserves it.
He earned it.
He is working hard for it
Should have chosen more carefully.
He has a new one now.
That opening scene looked like it was straight out of a movie 🔥 Congrats on the boat man, much respect for attacking the sea sickness head on. Great example to set, keep grinding man!
same to you man!
How do you get that shot? Using a drone?
My son is getting his 1st fishing rod because of you and your friends. I just bought a rod too, I can take him up to the lake.
Trying to explain to him that he won't be able to catch crabs in the Appalachian mountains, well that's another story.
Thank you!
😁
Thats what its all about right there. Awesome.
Marielizabeth B lol he wants that crab dinner
t500010000
He is serious about it. 😅
Marielizabeth B not sure but if you guys have crawfish that'd be my crab alternative.
My husband introduced me to your videos and now I can’t stop watching them. Lol love your new boat. Drink lots of water before you go out in the sea. Crunch Buttsteak best idea ever
Agreed 💯
Crunch Buttsteak He must've not saw your comment. There's no way you see a comment like this and don't use it.
Seeing you so excited is making me excited haha.

it is. had it for a week. been in the water twice already :)
You could do a video of you testing out all the sea sickness remedies you know and make a video about it to help other people who get seasick. At least then something positive would be coming out of you getting seasick.
WE WANT BUTTERBOAT!!
I've been thinking of a name with butter. Thanks you just named the boat
Good job Royy you’ve given the boat the perfect name 😊
i will agree
Thanks man. A man in a van with a SIB. I do this too, a fantastic platform to get on the water quickly. KNO dude shut up
2080064 😂
2080064 dude shut up
KNO Amen.
amen my brotha
You keep moving from strength to strength! Truly living the Fisherman's Life.
A bad day of fishing is better than a good day at the office.
Chris Yarzab I like the way you think man very true
yea
That's what they say, but I've had some really bad days fishing where the seas are rough, raining, no fish, getting seasick, a day at the office ain't looking so bad.
I know that's right.
Hahaha I always say that...
Nice little boat ! Hard to beat the Yamaha outboards, super reliable !
Congratulations Matt!!! Looking forward to more videos of you and your new boat. Enjoy!!
Use your drone to send fishing line further out while staying on land.
I seen a video of someone doing that and dude lost his drone in the water lol there's a risk
You deserve all the success and happiness to come your way !!!!!!!
HELL YEAH, LET'S GO
Awesome to see you just genuinely enjoying your new boat. Look forward to lots of videos with that boat!
Hey man. I just want to say that I'm such a big fan of your content. It's been top notch from the beginning, and the videos are only getting better. Hope to see more of you in the future and thanks for the vids so far.
Greetings from Holland
thank yoU!!
Congrats man. I'm laughing at how happy you are. Not because it's funny, but I just love to see people happy.

For sure. Or something
yan zil nice boat just put a little butter (;
My favorite time at Pillar point is when anchovies are running!!! You never know what you might catch!!!! and its none stop!!! Tight lines!!!!
I thought for a second that the motor wasn't going to start, haha. Excited for rockfish/salmon season this year!
same here! hope salmon is as good as last year
I watched a lot of videos related to fishing and small inflatable boats.
For no reason, I must admit that this video, however simple, is one of the best. A wonderful expression of pleasure and happiness from you.
I bought a HONWAVE T30 AE with a small HONDA BF.
I can't wait to try it.
No more foldable kayak haha love your content
What a opening scene!!! Fantastic visual!!!
Congratulations on the new boat Matts! I christen thee the U.S.S Seabutter!
Nice!! Congrats on the boat! Glad you're getting a trailer, dragging that boat up the launch ramp is pretty rough on the bottom. Finally a new video and congrats on the boat!
Glad your maiden voyage went well bro! I bought and installed a SE sport 300 hydrofoil for my outboard motor to reach plane quicker and it did help a lot and noticed a huge difference! Can't wait to come aboard and fish with you captiaon! I need to take mine in for a maintenance.
thanks Al, I'll look into that! They seem affordable too
Took me twenty years to figure it out but Cabela's had a sale on the SE sport this fall while I was refitting my boat and trailer so now I have less worries about balance in my 14' Alum with 15hp Suzuki. For me best trim position has been all the way down to help get on plane. Your best trim position may change with hydrofoil.
My bro has a rubber boat and I liked the metal deck. A bit scary in a rubber boat in 15ft swells when everything disappears each swell.

Dude that boat glides through the water like butter...big ups, peace.
Hey Matts, just FYI about the crab trap buoys (aka that laundry detergent bottle you used :D), per CA DFG:
"• Crab trap buoys must display the “GO ID” number of the operator of the trap. "
Thanks. Got the go I'd written on the bouys!
alexkg1 May I ask why he has to do that?
Per DFG:
"This regulation will help to ensure that crab traps are being used by the designated operator of the trap in order to prevent others from unlawfully disturbing or removing crab from crab traps."
However I actually read a little more into it this time, and it turns out this reg doesn't apply to hoops nets :)
Here in WA we are only allowed Red & white foam floats. And out Name, address & contact number must be clearly marked.
Congrats!!We’re all excited for you. Can’t wait to see the upcoming videos
Thanks! My plan for most of the fishing was right outside the harbor where it was protected
Or you can chase the salmon outside of Benicia no swells to worry over.
FYI, pillar point is not protected. Just outside the harbor there are shallow reefs and in low tides they break. Got a crab line caught in my prop few yrs back about 100 yd outside the harbor. Wave broke on us and almost sunk my boat. 21 ft proline wa.

started from the bottom now we here I subbed when you had 4k sub Now You HAVE 300K
Wow.....what an opening shot, with you stood looking out over the sea. Your drone filming skills may be approaching Jedi level.
Bro, you forgot to put some butter on the camera mount so you stop vibrating/shaking when recording.
Congratulations on the Zodiac!!! A new chapter begins, let's go catch and cook! Just be careful not to set the boat on fire.
I have to admit, little sick of drone shots. Everybody and their grandma seems to have a drone these days, but that opening shot was fuckin' fantastic.
BucketsAMF drones are cheap for what you get
Love how u started with butter in the cliffs to this small boat and now u up to a full sized boat
Don't have a GPS- just download Navionics on your phone.
Got it now thanks
or bring a compass and memorize (or write down) bearings to two landmarks. i wouldn't trust handling my phone in a tiny boat like that. more accurate than eyeballing it like you were doing and making use of a compass - you'll be even more of an outdoorsman!
Don't know much about fishing but I really enjoy your videos. Always interesting and educational. Congrats on the new boat my friend.

How about a pepper? haha
Jacob Acosta Hell Yeah
Reason ur vids are so good...you keep it real. No editing out mess ups or things that some would be too prideful to show. Always keep'em this way, your subscribers really appreciate it...and it will garner you additional subs.
Awesome video! Hi Matt, when are you going to have more butter t-shirts? I just ordered a steelhead shirt and a lingcod sweatshirt, but what I really want is the butter. Thanks!

Happy for you.. finally..every fisherman's dream..
Do a 24 hour fishing and sleeping challenge on that puppy
Cam Larsen i dont think so... its not comfort to sleep inside a boat dangling on the sea... maybe do a night trip fishing?
Cam Larsen He gets sea sick so I don’t see that happening.
This is amazing, I’m so happy for you! I absolutely love your channel so much and I just can’t wait for these upcoming months. Congratulations man, what an accomplishment for you, your channel, and the amazing community you have brought together on RUclips! Keep doing what you’re doing.
You need a deadman switch asap. Trust me.
Correction, you just aren't using it.
good call
He has the emergency stop cord attached to his wrist.
What an epic Braveheart-esque intro. Having your own boat opens up so many fishing opportunities. Hope you get your sea legs soon.
Congrats Matt!! I cant wait to see the videos to come!
Congrats on the Boat looking forward to your new videos with the boat this is going to be a good year for you i can feel it
4.48 ... when the adrenaline kicks in!!! Lets go man! Love it!!
Every time I think I need a boat I watch this video. While I'm happy for you, I get reminded how seasick I get. I'm almost hurling now, on my couch.
Congrats on the new boat! Have fun and be safe!
The opening scene was truly mesmerizing. Gotta plan a trip to the west coast
Nice boat! Watching this video brought back a lot of good memories when I used to own a boat. I believe the reason why you are not planing is because you are not going fast enough. Good luck and go catch 'em!
Can't wait to see more boat videos!

Hell Yea! Let’s go!! Lol I can see you’re super pumped about the new ride. Awesome bro!
BOAT= Bring Out Another Thousand.
Good luck captain have a blast man. Catch a bunch!!
Plained out nice.
Don't need to go full throttle.
Go easy in the waves.
Because of this channel I’ve only cooked my fish with butter and avocado! Soooo good he wasn’t kidding!
I feel like bonine works best for me too. I took it today and felt great although the water was glassy
Congrats on the boat. I'm staying tuned
Congrats on the boat Matts, looks like a blast.
Awesome dude! Really gonna open up possibilities for you. Great investment!
I am happy for you that you've come this far with all the nice new toys. Love your vids man! Keep it up!
Awesome! looking forward to your adventures !
Congrats on the new boat. Can't wait to see what you do with it.

In the state I live in they require any boat that has a motor to be registered and plated with the BMV just like a car or truck.
