Always search the work trucks. You biked right past 3 of them close together while biking to the fire station. They often have lots of books and good resources. At least you looted the 4th one. I was wondering why you wanted to take out the stairs. Just take out the door and put an iron hatch... and get a generator bank and 2 electric fences if you can buy them. I would not bother with their first base. I am much more into fighting hordes where you live and MUCH prefer working with an existing building (partially because the POI will increase the difficulty and loot level). I always do a different building and I like cleaning the place up and fixing all the damage... and try to leave furnished rooms.
I started watching a long time ago. I remember you first trying Subsistence, Sunkenland, and Medieval Dynasty. I can't remember what you played before that. I picked up both these games because of you but they were really not the best. They never did most of the things they talked about (like getting rid of the loot bags) with Subsistence and the combat is pretty bad. I kept holding out on 7 Days to Die until 1.0 came out then I finally bought it. It is good. To tell you the truth I think the Forest 1 was better to watch, but not something I would play... The second seemed to have a much weaker story and while the base building looked fancier I did not find it better. Mist has potential, but they are not really fixing the problems. I do not see it ever really getting much better. Fallout 4 is great... 76 SUCKS. Starfield was OK. Cyberpunk a little better. Astrometica looks pretty good, but the combat sucks and there is a lot not finished. I also like Raft and another good one is Scrap Mechanic. They are working on Chapter 2. When they get that finished (supposedly late Q1 2025) you should try it. Good base building, hordes, vehicle building, survival... It kind reminds me of Raft a bit with the cartoonish style. The building is kind of like 7 Days to Die. Never was into Conan or Ark or any of the other games you played over the years. I watched sometimes, but not often.
I'm not into the multiplayer games... or even watching them. I like single player open world survival games with preferably an RPG with missions. My favorite game is Fallout 4. The survival is not as important in that game as the RPG and story and the settlement building is great. The story, voice acting, missions, collectables... are all pretty good. Far Cry 6 was not bad either, but while it had good progression and collectables it did have other issues, like keeping enemy troops from spawning in areas you have taken over (checkpoints and bases), the fact that half the soldiers were female (felt like I was just killing women for fun) and that ALL the strong characters were female and ALL the male characters were silly diffuses. I did like that you could play as male or female and you character was voiced too. The music and combat was great too.
I kind of wish they had a sequel or something for Raft. I am waiting for Fallout 5 and Elder Scrolls VI, but I do not trust Bethesda to make a good game anymore. 7 Days could easily do a DLC and that would be great. I am waiting on Scrap Mechanic 2.0. Also Civilization 7 will likely be worth picking up. I have not heard anything about a Far Cry 7 yet. I would not mind a Fallout 4 remake. I really did not care for Fallout 3 or NV either and a remake would not fix all the problems. I thought the stories were a bit wearer and the scripting and voice acting were not the best. They also lacked the details of Fallout 4 as well as the base building and I like voiced protagonists. They could improve the graphics a lot, use more colors than brown/yellow, and make the combat better, but they would have to change a lot of other things to make me play the game again. Can't think of any other game I am interested in.
    Boy did I ramble.

I think progression in Rebirth is similar to vanilla, it just continues beyond where vanilla stops. It is learn by doing with a combat class system so you use stone, bone and pipe items to open the class you want. Class progression is through the class weapons and uses a water lock leveling system, so to level a class your class weapon has to be at the same level, then it's xp goes to the class.
You can't craft blocks and boxes in inventory, but you can pick up and use about everything.
There are multiple traders in the compound, Briston has useful info, it is worth reading.
There are a lot of options so if you find something you don't like, such as many large wandering hordes, you can probably change it.

I like medieval dynasty but I haven't really enjoyed your playthrough. It feels like your just playing it to finish all the quests and get to the end of the game. It doesn't feel like you are playing to enjoy the game. Even if you do enjoy it, you playthrough doesn't come across as someone who wants to play the game for fun
