    Thanks a lot for the feature guys ! And thanks for reminding us about the best practices for the TEMO·450 ❌✔
    Looking forward to your full review about TEMO·450.
    And stay tuned for the release of the TEMO·1000. For sure it will work better on this kind of boats ⛵

      For sure, there’s more to come.. couldn’t help ourselves really - honestly, it was surprisingly good in something it’s certainly not built for! 👍

    That TEMO might be a good idea for say a backup plan for the dinghy.

      It’s pretty good in the dinghy that’s for sure - we did a full review that impressed us, mainly due to its ease of use and portability! It actually became the primary motor ant the 15hp 2t became the secondary!

    Just as with electric cars, we need to wait for the next generation of batteries. Even then, I don't want an electirc car, but there could be definite advantages for a boat - maintenance & and ease of use for example. Just need a more powerful motor with a much higher capacity battery.

      Yup, you’ve got it right there… but what do we do if we don’t want to wait? I guess start with the inefficiencies of the rest of the boat and see why we can achieve?
      That’s our plan with this build anyhow;

    You would have the same problem with a 2hp outboard with 1/3 of a tank of petrol, 1kw is even less power

    • @SailHub
      @SailHub  Год назад

      Yup, your right there.. At least with a petrol motor it’s easy to fill up!

    To be fair you're using dingy motors on a sailboat.

    • @SailHub
      @SailHub  Год назад

      You say that and that's how we feel. Its defiantly the case for the Temo however... Straight from the torqeedo website "The Travel 1103 easily propels up to 1.5 tons'" Im really not sure what I think about this!!

    The Temu design doesn't seem well engineered, the batteries aren't as easily swappable as other electric outboards and the prop is pointed at a suboptimal angle, a lot of the thrust is lost by trying to push the stern upward instead of forward... Seems gimmicky just for the sake of being different from other brands.

      It’s certainly a “marmite” outboard! I actually quite like it which did surprisie me.
      It’s only a 450watt so it is of course for lower transoms on small tenders less than 2.5m.
      We have a full review coming out soon, it’s strong points are portability and weight - for us it would be ideal as a second motor to a 15hp, we don’t often need such a big motor but can’t warrant another huge outboard for small trips.

    You didn’t change the Torqeedo before you used it. You started at near 20% the engine automatically down grades the output at 20% in order to provide some extra range to get you home. So not a fair test of the engines capability

      To be fair? I’m not so sure that’s the case, we’ve been out with the motor fully charged too, the performance is linear.
