I really hope the rest of the Disney Marvel shows gets released on Blu-ray and 4K . If not I am going to be really upset . Because I really hate streaming services
I love "The Crow" so much, I pre-ordered both versions. I think Sony taking over Disney's physical business will actually help get catalogue movie releases more often, I feel like that may be part of the reason why Sony agreed to it in the first place.
Once Upon a Time in the West .. and ... Crow .. are already preordered! Getting less and less excited for Arrow announcements. Where are the Arrow 4K upgrades for .. PIECES ... REANIMATOR .. BRIDE OF REANIMATOR ... TORSO .. and ... THIEF .....KILLER KLOWNS???
The Disney news is extremely disheartening. I love so many of their films, and I don't always want to stream. I may just want to pop a movie into my player and watch it. This just makes me sick that this is becoming the way of the future.
I am right with you. I don't mind streaming as an option. I do my fair share of streaming watching. But I am a strong believer in physical media. Especially with movies. Like you said, I want to put in a disc and watch a film. In fact, in my home theater (where I am currently filming my videos) I don't have any streaming in there. I only watch discs.
Disney has sucked since Iger started as CEO and the power balance of the board shifted. They need to go back pre woke Disney in addition to less streaming emphasis but you know they won't since they dance to the tune of the global financial system of Blackrock and their ESG rules and the WEF agendas which they force through their corporate structure. Read 1984 and Brave New World instead of watching more Disney shit for once.
Nice haircut Richard. Good stuff. I might get Once Upon a Time in the West. I might get Rolling Thunder and Night Falls. I've never seen Pandemonium. The Long Good Friday is fantastic. The music score too! Very good. Really want that. I liked Crimson Peak. I might grab that too. The Disney Club closing is a bummer. Many thanks Richard! I hope you have an excellent weekend.
01. Unless I missed it, I'll skip The Crow. I've had enough freezing issues with 4k that I'll only get them now if a blu-ray is included. Afaik, it's only going to include the 4k disc. 02. The Disney Movie Club exclusives never made sense to me. Once, I looked at them and was tempted but held off. A lot of the exclusives are pure classics - Escape To Witch Mountain, The Black Hole, Something Wicked This Way Comes, The Love Bug and its sequels, etc. Why on earth have those as exclusives? I'd almost guarantee had their exclusives got proper releases, they could've made some good money. Instead, the public gets dvds while blu-rays are hidden behind a club. So, here's hoping that Sony can bring these titles out for everyone. I also noticed that on ebay, the club exclusives are going up in price.
@Richard and all, how do you handle receiving slightly damaged items? My New Year's resolution is to have zero tolerance for that stuff. I just requested a replacement for "The Most Dangerous Game" because the booklet inside has some small damage. Most people would live with it but if I'm going to pay $30 for a 1932 movie, everything needs to be perfect.
Definitely like it short better. Looks good. Maybe Sony can do a better job than Disney (The Empire Strikes Back & Return of the Jedi). Sony’s got a pretty good rep w phys media.
I think you're spot on in terms of Sony will not get its pick of which Disney films to distribute. Disney has been trying to diminish the physical media market for a while now. Although they will claim this is a business decision, the tin foil hat in me believes this is more to do with censoring content and deciding what and how audiences can see movies and TV shows, which is far easier to pull off when people have to rely on their streaming service. Those are just my thoughts though. Hopefully I'm wrong, and maybe Sony can influence the Disney elitists into releasing more physical media.
It’s to bad some of the studios are abandoning Bluray enthusiasts. All these 4k only titles with awesome features but no new Bluray. By the way I like your haircut, nice look 👌
I have a question about Shout Factory if is saying it will ship when it is available or something like that. Does that mean they will eventually get back in or not ? I am wondering because I kinda want to get some things from them. But it always has that next to the purchase option. I understand if it says in stock or out of stock. But when it says something like will ship when its available or something like that. For a good year straight I'm just wondering what's going on in that case. If anyone knows it would be helpful because. What I want to get has said that for a year straight with no changes. I have been checking monthly so I have been watching.
You are right! I saw that after I finished the video. Naturally. lol Luckily it is a variant and not the only steelbook so there are plenty of options for everyone.
Disney owns Hollywood Pictures which put out Splash. Sad thing, Disney has made that film a streaming exclusive and censored it to where they've blurred out the shot of Daryl Hannah's butt. Touchtone Pictures is also part of Disney, so I think there's quite a bit in there that's streaming only, but I think more stuff that's censored.
That really bugs me. Also a reason why I hope they might let physical releases happen so they put some of those films out unaltered. I'm still angry they also edited The French Connection on streaming. It's not even their own film! Ugh. Please Sony, help make this right! Not they are listening to me but I can try. lol
Disney having a deal with SONY for releasing titles is knteresting. Disney dont, never has, liked people owning copies of their products. I think they truly hate the home video market unless its rental. Lets face it. We are back to renting. Streaming is just that. You can never be sure to be able to watch a certain movie when you want unless you got the right streaming service. Hope Sony releases a lot but not so sure we can count on all good touchstone titles or Fox or… Looking forward to see Once Upon A Time in The West on 4K! Never seen Rolling Thunder.. good? Cheers!
If you know how Blackrock effectively owns corporations like Disney and the WEF agendas that trickle down through their corporate structures you wouldn't be surprised at all since they publicly stated they want the mass populace to "own nothing and love it" aka the great reset. They openly discuss this shit, the globalist billionaires.
As far as the Sony/Disney deal, unless we get FOX catalog titles, Touchstone ect... I can't get too excited about this announcement. Someone wake me up when we get 4Ks for ... BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA .. DIE HARD 2 ... ED WOOD ... DICK TRACY ... THE OMEN ... THE FLY...LICENSE TO DRIVE.... ED WOOD. Just to name a few.
I'm not into Disney but I can see the loss for fans. I don't think Sony will have access to the huge Disney catalog. Anyway thanks for the heads up bro!👍
Thank you Hector! I'm mainly hoping that Sony can release a lot of the Touchstone films and some of the Disney live action films. I'd love a 4K of The Black Hole for example. It'll be interesting to see what happens.
I hope it looks nice too. I think it might fair better than the Dollars Trilogy since I think (key word being "think") Paramount might have the original materials. I'm grabbing Narc as well. Been a long time since I watched it so it'll be great to revisit it.
@@RichardDiaz yeah I think for the 4K of Dollars they finally got it write after goofing up on the Blu release so let's see what Paramount does on their release!
Thank you! That was seriously a real reason why I was keeping it longer. I wanted my Snake Plissken hair! Unfortunately it was becoming harder to deal with for things, like with clients, where I needed to be slightly more clean cut.
John Carpenter did a commentary for Once Upon A Time in the West? Is it just audio taken from an interview or did he actually sit down for a commentary?
That is what I want to know too. I don't have the previous Blu-ray. He did do a commentary for Rio Bravo which is cool. I'm wondering if this might be several commentaries just edited together.
@@RichardDiaz Yeah, sometimes they just edit together interviews. There is a Tarantino "commentary" for Reservoir Dogs that's just taken from interviews. Most people don't know about it because it's only on disc 2 of the 10th Anniversary DVD.
I'm surprised this video ended up being as long as it was. When I recorded it I felt like it was going to be short. Then I got to the editing and ... yeah. lol
Pretty cool video. Gosh I hope they don't screw up the Crow or Once upon a time in the West. Love those movies. The movies are getting so expensive. Forty dollars plus. Yuk🥴🤬
Thank you! And I agree, I hope both of those are done properly. I think there is a better chance they will be but since it is Paramount I am not 100% sure. They have put out some amazing releases but also a few with too much noise reduction. So we shall see. Since the cinematographer did oversee The Crow and I more confident that one will turn out great.
@@RichardDiazI just found out that Umbrella just released a 4K version of Super Mario Bros recently but it's at $40. I said screw it and bought it at Grindhouse Video!

I am so excited about many of these titles. One thing though, Arrow should create new artwork for their 4K releases. The same artwork does get old.
