Tauziat wasn’t mean. She just found the noise coming from Seles distracting. At that time, in 1992, players were not used to hearing ridiculous, giving birth screams.
LOL if you want mean read Tauziat's book. She thrashed nearly every player who ever existed, particularly any other French player, Kournikova, any lesbian or bi player, and Chris Evert.
@@obiphil8672 Yes I think that was the goal. And actually her endorsements went up after the book, LOL! She knew the only way anyone would give a twat about her was to write something super controversial. My favorite part of the book was saying Chris Evert wore frilly shorts just to look sexier and influence line judges in her career.
@@stacked7476 That's just BS. 1992 was the 4th year Seles was on the pro tour. Before that she was on the junior circuit for years. Everybody knew about her grunt for so long. They were not bothered by it when Seles wasn't dominating.
I am glad they changed the Olympic rules to allow up to 6 players; 2 solely playing doubles and 4 singles players (2 of which could play doubles together if their combined ranking was high enough). 2021 will be interesting because will V. Williams be able to qualify to play doubles as a former champion? If melichar makes the top 10 doubles ranking by the cutoff date (she is currently #11), who will she pick as her partner? Mattek-sands? (Currently #23). Krawczyk or carter ? (currently #22 and #31 respectively, but are either eligible because neither has played fed cup). Kenin? Will they skip over melichar if she isn’t in the top 10 and go with Mattek-sands to play with Kenin (they have had some good results together)? And let’s not think about singles when you have 11 players in the top 50, 6 of them in the top 32.
Right on Monica! Phenomenal win! :)
Tauziat was mean to Seles at 92's wimbledon. Musta been gratifying for Seles to beat her enemy coming bk from a set down.

@@grantdesjardins764 She wrote a bk? Guess she had to dish max amount of gossip before anyone would be interested in reading it.

Tauziat never liked monica
Wasn't she one of the players that complained at Wimbledon one year about Seles grunting too loud?
