    Video is very good. I bought a renhotecic power supply not long ago and tested it, and it feels that the effect is OK. It is recommended that friends in need can try to prepare a copy.

    I recently bought one of these for my car a MK4 Golf GTI. The "lights on" warning doesn't always work as its control board points needs soldering, so I sometimes find I have a flat battery from leaving the lights on, as these days in common with most I drive with them on, day and night. Nice to now that this small battery starter can start a tractor which is a pretty heavy request. This should save calling out a neighbour to jump start me.

    • @uberdriverlondon
      @uberdriverlondon 3 года назад +2

      Yeah, it's definitely can save to call the neighbour out but also not help to maintain the good friendship with your neighbour. Do you think to wake up a chilli Saturday morning (when nowhere to go anyway) because the neighbour AGAIN keeps knocking on the door and saying "bla bla bla mybatterydied bla bla bla" and take the key and get in the car in slippers, do some tricky manoeuvre etc, just because "THIS GUY AGAIN..." No that's not a bad thing. Your neighbour is not angry or upset, but they are in fact happy.
      Because the morning is starting energetically and have more time on the day to do other things, and also they know they can ask literally anything next time from you. Like, "feed the cat when they are on holiday" or whatever.
      I remember the good old times when we "allowed" our neighbour to push the car and 2 or 3 attempts after the car is started and we were on the way already, and just wave to the neighbour "to say THANK YOU", also the neighbour was wave to us. He was heavily breading and sweating but he looks satisfied... :D

      A few days ago i tried to start my old golf mk3 with a completely dead battery. It started the car, i tet the car run for 20 minutes or so for the car alternator to charge it, but is dead. So with this jump starter battery from 100% i started my golf 2 times and then i started my tractor 1 time and the jump started battery had only 8% battery left. The golf battery discharged this tiny one a lot faster than the tractor because thr battery needs yo be replaced. When i wanted to start the golf again after I let it run for 20-30 minutes it didnt start without help. So it really depends on how much life your car battery still has. If it is a fairly new battery but you forgot your lights on, maybe you could start the car with the tiny battery a few times, but if the car battery is old and empty maybe you can start the car only 1 or 2 times with the tiny one

      😂😅 It is still working after 3 years Actually yesteday i started my ford with it because i need to replace the battery and if i don't start the car for a day it drains the battery.
      The only issue i had with this battery starter was a tiny capacitor or rezistence from the positive wire (i don't know how it is called) but I brought it to someone who repaires electronics and it replaced it very cheaply and works perfectly fine

    Hi,
    The video is great.
    But your tractor has a thermostart (an old-fashion glow plug). It is that device that is connected to a small diesel fuel tank placed in the intake manifold. It also has an electric connection. If it works correctly, when 12 volt is appplied, it produces a flame in the intake manifold, using the diesel from the small tank, that helps the engine to start in cold weather. So you don't really need to use a rag with fuel. If your thermostart does not work, the spare is cheap, about 15 €.

    • @bluesummersky6936
      @bluesummersky6936  3 года назад

      I know what you say, but this engine it not the original tractor engine, it is from a diesel car and it didn't have mounted a glowplug and thermostat. I think it can be done, but i don't use it in the cold weather (only to start it every once in a while)

    • @ferrita76
      @ferrita76 3 года назад

      @@bluesummersky6936 Hi. It's a thermostaRt or flame thrower, not a thermostat. Your engine has a thermostart, as is clearly visible in your video. It is that device that is inserted in the intake manifold and has a diesel fuel line connected. You can see that device in action in these videos and many others:

    The question is if a vehicle without or not battery at all will star directly with a starter lets say a normal 4 or 6 cilinder automobil will start directly placing the starter instead of the battery.

    • @bluesummersky6936
      @bluesummersky6936  2 года назад

      Probably, but it is not recommended to do that. After the car starts, you have to remove the starter in a few seconds. (I think it has a protection of 30 seconds or so). I actually tested something similar that you said. On my older car which I don't use anymore, the battery was literally dead. So discharged that on my multimeter it didn't show any value. At first I thought my multimetre doesn't work. But I tested it on the battery of my daily driver car and it worked. And on my older car 0V. And the car started basically only with this battery starter.

    Your battery dies faster if it allways has dirt on top of it. Dirt can become a voltage draw after a while!

    • @bluesummersky6936
      @bluesummersky6936  3 года назад

      Not that it dies faster, but dirt can become like a barier so that the voltage won't get to the car/tractor and it might not start. But here was not the case because the battery was dead. It was old too.

      @@bluesummersky6936 Thanks for the info. That old Craftsman that I had started just fine with the Rugged Geek. My trickle charger was showing that the battery that was in it went bad and I had to buy another one and put it in the Craftsman before I got rid of it. That battery was still OK even though I had to use my Rugged Geek to start that lawn tractor a couple of times. The Rugged Geek gave my that extra boost I needed to start that thing. I did some reading where those Craftsman lawn tractors had really bad charging.
      I now have a Troy Bilt Bronco that I haven't used for a while and I know the battery will be low. I just don't want to fart around with extension cords, disconnecting the battery, and trickle chargers. So that is why I bought the Rugged Geek.

      True, but without the small battery it wouldn't have started even with the flame. It was very cold that's why I used flame too. Even with a new battery it won't start when is cold outside, because my tractor doesn't have a glow plug.
