Been banging my head against this wall for days. I'm not a religious person, but God bless you for this. I'm usually pretty tech savvy, but damn this had me stumped. Last ditch resort was going to go buy a wifi/ethernet adapter and run the OS updates through that and hope it helped.

I tried the sugestions of Intel, saying to update NVM firmware, i tried all LAN drivers and the LAN driver from the support DVD of MB and nothing. To all trying this year 2022, my Motherboard is a ASUS ROG STRIX B550-A GAMING, i did everything like the video, but instead of build 16299 i used the current one that was on my Windows, 14393. I tried 16299, but didn't work for me.
@@Davidmiguel7 I had contacted Asus support & they're saying to send in my motherboard for repair, should I just wait & try this instead cuz I literally just built an entire custom PC & to have to pull my board out is gonna suck especially if I have the same problem later on
i believe intel should provide the appropriate drivers for every windows versions... it sucks that when we install windows we find that some drivers are corrupted and have to go witch hunting sometimes to find a certain driver.
All of these steps look perfect, but what if the Ethernet controller isn't recognized by the system? It doesn't even show up on the Device manager at all. Any Tips?
You seem so confident but that did nothing for my x470-F Gaming board. Spent 20hrs on this already. When i downloaded the latest driver from Asus it was already at the correct version number 19H. But i still cannot connect to the internet no matter what. What amazes me is its using the same i225-v driver.

Most times it will show connected but when mid game or mid activity while using the internet it cuts out and say no internet access then reconnects a few seconds after. Hey I'm having this issue I just built a pc with a Z490 mother board. The ASUS Strix E gaming. It's updated to windows 10 1703 it won't update any further it says its "up to date" and I tried to install every driver the lan driver wont install. I have tried your method but up to 3:10 it doesn't work further on.
Mine was working and stopped working then work again then stopped folowed all these steps it doesn't work.. Drive installed but still no connection.. I don't know what to do help please
Hi, when I go to device manager I don't have the option of other services nor showing the ethernet controller, I thought maybe it would work going to network adapters/intel ethernet controller but when I try to add the ini file there, it says "the best drivers for your device are already installed", could you tell me what else could I do to add the ini file, I just built this computer (first time ever) and I haven't been able to fix this. hello, I had this issue before where I had to reset the z490 bios motherboard to defaults for the i225 to show up. Somehow if the controller gets disabled, you need to reset to defaults. No idea why this is though. Hope this works
my z490 says my cable is not connected but when i plug the cable to the old computer recognises it and works :( i updated intel lan drivers, bios all, only wifi works :(

Question Dave, I followed your steps and was able to find the i225-v again in my dev manager, however my ethernet cord is no longer being detected. It was an issue I was having before the i225-v disappeared, but it's still not working. Any suggestions?
That’s a diff issue but I’ve seen it before. I had to reset my BIOS to defaults, reboot and get into Windows so that it redetects. It’s like the BIOS disabled the NIC on its own. Also, if you OC’d your settings including XMP, make the changes - save and reboot.

Do you believe Intel should still provide driver support for Windows 10 1709?
i believe intel should provide the appropriate drivers for every windows versions...

@@Drewster301 Yeah, for me, it ended up being a faulty component on the motherboard. Had to send it to the manufacturer for service and repair.

this sounds like the firmware updated needed for the i225-v. Check the ASUS site or ROG forum as there is a process to update...
