Got mine yesterday. The wrist strap locking mechanism works fine. Hoewever, the stylus tips are not locked. Mine simply fall out after installing them, just by holding the controller. They're completely useless.
Marketing wasn't given the battery life of the controllers or told not to cover it? Apparently for anyone curious they were reported to have a life of at least 2 hours and upto 8 hours battery life. A massive drop compared to quest 2's, 30 - 50 hours battery life. At least the video told you how to plug a wire into the wall.
If meta would confirm once the quest 3 is out I could just buy the headset and then carry forward these controllers from my quest 2 to that I'd buy them in a heartbeat, the upgrade would be less at the time and I could go on to sell my quest 2 as a full set.

This pairing process apparently does not work yet. If you go to add controller there isn't any Meta Quest Pro controller option, just Q2 controllers and gamepad.
Just got my pro controllers and love them with beat saber!…. But! Charging these controllers are weird tho, my dock is showing no lights when the controllers are placed on them. 😫

Some examples I can think of right now would be the possibility to mod the firmware to also do tracking beyond just hand tracking, like i.e. Full-Body-Tracking or compatibility with new future tracking technolgies or just simply currently existing 3rd-party technologies like Valves Base Stations . Or being able to offload some of the headsets processing to the controllers to allow for more performant gaming. There could also be the possibility of using them for more than just tracking, like i.e. as a replacement Android-device (or trying to run DOOM on them 👀).
@@UFAIL I'm not sure, but I've seen an article that says Quest Pro and controller use Wi-Fi to connect to each other. I think the software update is done by receiving it from the main body.
I have these controllers and my only problem is the charger is so hard to make them plug in, I have to fiddle with them for a few minutes, is there any alternate way to charge them?
You could probably buy a $30 cable from Meta that lets you charge a single controller individually, but I haven't gotten around to buying it yet & see if it works in some way. But other than that, I agree with you. The compact charging dock requires a good amount of fiddling to charge the controllers properly.

So do these not work with a Meta Quest 2? According to one of your replies to a user, the Pro controllers are only compatible with the Meta Quest Pro, but this video shows you pairing them to a Meta Quest 2 so which is it?
it will works on quest 2 soon. they are still working on this thing, so it is not possible right now. maybe in december, it will be done. as long as they keep what they say

these controllers come with a SoC almost as powerful as the original quest. they have better tracking than lighthouse based solutions due to the ability to use SLAM tracking (there position is monitored even when occluded). no tracking ring means closer hand interactions. X3 times the haptic motors (reported to be even better than psvr2 haptics). capacitive sensor for index finger allows full positional tracking for index finger (ala index controllers). pressure sensitive grip sensor allowing index and thumb squeezing for fine motor control (again ala index controllers). rechargeable batteries and redesigned ergonomics. slightly heavier weight but seems to cause less hand jitter due to trying to hold a light weight still for hand interactions.
In more simple terms - they track themselves rather than the headset doing it. So you can now put your hands behind your head/back and they'll track it unlike the Quest 2 controllers which are tracked via the cameras on the actual headset (which ofc can't see behind you)

I unpaired it and re paired it still stuck at 0 I have no 3 party accessories on the controllers and switch network it still stuck at on 0 for the update to the controllers

Have you tried unpairing and re-pairing the controllers through the Meta Horizon app? - Make sure that your headset is turned on, then open the app on your phone. - Tap your avatar picture at the bottom. - Tap the 3 lines logo in the top right. - Tap Devices. - Select the headset that you want to unpair controllers from. - Tap Headset settings, then tap Controllers. - Tap the controller that you want to unpair, then tap Unpair controller. - Repair the controllers by following the instructions on the app. Let us know if you have any luck with this!
One other step you can attempt is to place both controllers on charge, restart the headset and re-attempt the pairing process that way. Also, make sure your headset is updated to the latest software. So they still have there own grip button and most features, they just have their own tracking

WHY WOULD I HATE META? i have a quest 2 with beat saber, gorilla tag etc. why would i have a quest 2 if i hate meta when they made that? and now that i am coming back to this message.. 2 MONTHS AGO, i now see its not their fault to raise the price as the quality is so good. meta has done a very good job on their products. and people have their own opinions. you should know that and plus, even if i did hate meta, it wouldnt be the end of the world would it? stop trying to control me and my own opinions because first of all, you dont know me, second of all, your not the god of the world, third of all, you need to learn how to respect peoples opinions because what ur saying is absolutely messed up.

Before we get you over to our support team, we would like to ask you to try a few steps that might fix the issue:
The controller not being placed properly on the charging port can cause this issue sometimes, so maybe move it around till it secures on the port.
Try using a different outlet.
Try charging the controller by itself on the port and off the port with a charging cable.

So do these not work with a Meta Quest 2? According to one of your replies to a user, the Pro controllers are only compatible with the Meta Quest Pro, but this video shows you pairing them to a Meta Quest 2 so which is it?

what makes the new controllers any different? they look like they function the same
these controllers come with a SoC almost as powerful as the original quest. they have better tracking than lighthouse based solutions due to the ability to use SLAM tracking (there position is monitored even when occluded). no tracking ring means closer hand interactions. X3 times the haptic motors (reported to be even better than psvr2 haptics). capacitive sensor for index finger allows full positional tracking for index finger (ala index controllers). pressure sensitive grip sensor allowing index and thumb squeezing for fine motor control (again ala index controllers). rechargeable batteries and redesigned ergonomics. slightly heavier weight but seems to cause less hand jitter due to trying to hold a light weight still for hand interactions.
In more simple terms - they track themselves rather than the headset doing it. So you can now put your hands behind your head/back and they'll track it unlike the Quest 2 controllers which are tracked via the cameras on the actual headset (which ofc can't see behind you)

The quest 2 controllers do so, I'd assume the quest pro controllers will, since they have a gyroscope in them anyways

Although it may not be applicable in your case, we would also recommend removing unsupported third-party accessories that may affect power, battery fit, or controller detection. For example, rechargeable grips, controller covers, etc

Alright, thanks for letting us know!. We understand you've rebooted the controllers and the headset. Have you tried unpairing and re-pairing the controllers through the Meta Horizon app?
- Make sure that your headset is turned on, then open the app on your phone.
- Tap your avatar picture at the bottom.
- Tap the 3 lines logo in the top right.
- Tap Devices.
- Select the headset that you want to unpair controllers from.
- Tap Headset settings, then tap Controllers.
- Tap the controller that you want to unpair, then tap Unpair controller.
- Repair the controllers by following the instructions on the app.

One other step you can attempt is to place both controllers on charge, restart the headset and re-attempt the pairing process that way. Also, make sure your headset is updated to the latest software.
