I just discovered your channel today while I was searching for info on electrophotometry for my lab class... These videos are amazing I learned like a bunch of things I didn't get at school thanks for your hard work, professor.
Professor! THANK YOU for this and honestly ALL of your mechanism videos. You’re very knowledgable about this otherwise difficult course subject, and you have helped me and at least three of my classmates. I doubt you’ll see this, but had to put this somewhere out there. You’re the best!
Hello professor Dave , this Dr Kareem from Baghdad Uni.. Please make some videos about Polymers and polymerization , it's quite helpful to me. peace out ✌️ from Iraq 🇮🇶
Hi, Pr Dave! it's not about this video, but I'm curious about one thing and I have no idea who I need to ask for😄 I'm going to try make homemade soap from used cooking oil. it could contain some food parts and of course it's gonna be filtered but as I know it's not enough to get really clear oil. my question is about how dangerous could be this soap, what do I need to expect and how could I use it? thank you for your answers, it is very important for me!😊
I have a quick question: What would happen if acid were added to a soap “molecule?” Also, how would I draw the structure of the resulting molecule? Would it be able to clean as well as regular soap? I think adding acid to a soap molecule would create a weaker soap if the amount of lye is not increased to accommodate the acid, right? But I have no idea what to draw, nor what exactly would happen. I'm curious to know what would happen if I added citric acid to soap.
Please help Is it possible to perform an esterification with clourethane and ritlanic acid and how would I do that I shouldn't be cheating but I really need help with my project please

I know it's been three years, but I was just curious. How'd the rest of your class go?
@@PunmasterSTP they went well👍 well enough at least
@@beyzanuryldrmylmaz Sounds good, and well enough is a-ok 👍
Was just going through Organic Chemistry when the notification bell rang and there was our Professor, as always helping me out😁
Best wishes!
Quick & Concise. You make MCAT studying and preparation easier. Thank you for sharing your God-given gift of teaching.
Did you already take the MCAT, and if so, how'd it go?

Dave definitely helps a ton! Out of curiosity, how'd the rest of your class turn out?
Love that I paid hundreds for textbooks just to learn everything from you. Thanks a billion.
Facts.
Your videos are very helpful. Love from Morocco! 😻
Your teaching method is the best..the videos are really helping me a lot.
Love from Pakistan ❤
Your videos are the only thing getting me through organic chemistry
How'd the rest of your class go?
I am in my first year of pharmacy, glad that i found your channel ❤️ they help a lot
Did you already graduate pharmacy school, and if so, how did it go?
Really amazing teaching skill. Go ahead Professor.
Channels like this one makes me think that some day education could be free
I'd say that if you only care about gaining knowledge and not getting a degree, then it's free already...
YOU ROCK PROF!!! YOU ALWAYS SAVE MY GRADES HAHAHAHA, LOVE FROM PHILIPPINES!!!

Out of curiosity, how's your research going?
I hadn't thought about the concept of equilibrium coming into this. Thanks for sharing!
Surprised to see your hair! 😍🙂 Thanks for this vid.
Better than my orgo 2 prof
Out of curiosity, how'd the rest of orgo 2 go?
wow didnt know veritasium cloned himself into a org-chem teacher
"Esterified" into O-chem teacher
best teacher
i love the way you pronounce le chatelier

Would it just turn back into a fatty acid?
yes, protonating the soap molecule would give you a fatty acid
A very helpful video, thank you so much!
"Doc why are you such a stickler for punctuation and grammar?" A: "Because there's a big difference in one mol. ester and one molester." :)
I've never heard that one before!
thanks again prof!
Saponification? More like "Super great information!" 👍
Your Awesome bro Thanks ❤🙇🙌
Thank you!
I was asked to convert methane into butane, is possible to do using grignard reagent?
well, i guess turn methane into a grignard reagent and attack propanal and then eliminate the hydroxyl and hydrogenate. a few steps.
@@ProfessorDaveExplains what about turning it into alkyl halide then using Wurtz reaction?
Thank you, lumberjack for the concise explanation :-))
why doesn't the alcohol react with the protonated ester at the C=O? Isn't the pi star lower than the sigma star
would you like to add the subtitle? bcs i'm still learning in english... thanks prof!!
Love u Sir
Background is cool
Nice!

I know it's been two years, and it seems no one answered you in time, but I was curious: how'd the project and the rest of your class go?
Good

I think more people will watch your vids if you make a little low level knowledge😀😀
This is an organic chemistry tutorial for organic chemistry students.
