As a biomed student who has unfortunately watched and witnessed tons of severe facial trauma, they did an amazing job at close range shrapnel blast effects on the face. SUPER SUPER realistic especially with keeping the jaw attached (you’d be surprised how resilient your jaw is, it will stay attached as long as it can). I slowed down the grenade scene and the deterioration/deconstructing of the bone structure/facial tissue is insanely realistic. Something I noticed when I slowed it down. The flesh on the left side "right side of his face" fell off and was basically being broken down into a black sludge. I'm assuming because that tissue was basically severed and wasn't receiving blood flow, it was easier for the machine to discard that piece of flesh and just build a new face instead of healing the nearly dead flesh. Very interesting scene. I wonder if they had medical professionals on staff during this scene to make it as real as possible.
@@robyee3325i wonder if the machine actually speeds up the process of regeneration? Necrosis is a part of that, and we use debridement to remove dead or severely damaged tissue to encourage new growth. So it regrows the fresh stuff, and the dead material is basically pinched off as it gets pushed out of the way, like when dead skin falls off.
