Wikus was so abnocius in the beginning, in my opinion he got whtpat he deserved, but he reddemed himself towards the end, such an awesome character. Yeah, sorry for My Bad English is My second language.
If you watch Thomas throughout this movie he racks his shotgun at least 5 times and never fires it. I think he forgot his ammo and had to just put on a show

It’s definitely one of those movies that could have a sequel to. A time jump forward kind of thing and we see the aliens migrating into foreign countries etc. as a take on todays current political climate
@@MajorNutsack Yes, you can't even cast it without every ethinic group, female lead and transgernder representation, no doubt good movies is sadly a thing of past.
This was such a great movie, it had so many aspects that reflected on our historical to current conditions in human treatment, using "aliens" as a prop for how certain nations/ demographics are towards fellow humans. Europeans and Indigenous Americans and Mexicans, Europeans and African nations, Europeans and Australia's indigenous, Europeans and Canada's indigenous, Europeans and New Zealand's indigenous, etc. This movie does not need a sequeal, the point is made. Those who start to show empathy and are treated like thr downtrodden, is only when people become aware of the horrors of their mistreatment.
The object was a weapon to turn humans into prawns. That tube was meant to be used and have it be airborne for humans to turn so that the prawns can negotiate to leave earth and "bring" back a cure
A popular fan theory suggests that the ship was actually a slaver transport that had recently enslaved a primitive race by transforming them into Prawns and was en-route back to their home territory. However something happened that wiped out the ship's command, forcing the last surviving officer Christopher Johnson to set the ship down on the nearest inhabitable world and remove the command module to stop the ship's secrets from falling into the wrong hands. This is why most of the Prawns we see are extremely primitive with no sense of camaraderie or critical thinking. Also if you compare CJ's face to the other Prawns, you notice that his face is more bulkier and round whereas the others have more sharper features and a narrower face/neck. CJ is a pure-blooded Prawn and clearly befitting of the powerful technology his people possess. He is intelligent, able to communicate and empathize with others and obviously, knows how to control the command module and the mothership itself.
2009. What a great time to be alive. Technologically advanced enough to have great movies like this but political correctness wasn’t a thing yet, so we get a story about white South Africans working within African slums
@ the movie’s theme of apartheid doesn’t make it woke. Your 2024 brain is so riddled with rot that you believe anything that deals with race must be seen as woke, but that’s simply not true. You completely swung and missed on the point I was making… if this movie was made in 2024, there would be no subtle themes of apartheid, they would be in your face and would be presented in a way that is either lecturing the audience or virtue signaling their moral superiority. You clearly aren’t aware of the pitfalls of modern cinema enough to understand why movies now suck, but movies from 10+ years ago don’t

Your 2024 brain is riddled with rot that you aren’t able to understand the point I’m making. Modern cinema lacks the ability to create subtle messages. You still got a great story and characters without the grandstanding that yt man bad.
No you are completely wrong, this is only that "Fuel" aliens got , they are leaders therfore inteligent, all others are workers stupid and unable to make that fuel , and that little amount take them years to gather, Vicus is only one transformed and by accident

Let’s play with the black alien goo
Eventus stultorum magister.
hahahahah i follow it on X
great film. main character went from totally insufferable to beloved and redeemed. its a shame we never got a follow up film
Maybe it's better that way. Leaves room for imagination. If they make a sequel it better be as good as the first one
The follow up film would be pretty boring with the Prawns bringing in actual warships and wiping out humanity in a couple days
It didnt need one.
Confirmed now
The woke movement would ruin the movie, for sure.
Johannesburg looks better in this than it does in real life.
Damn 😂
"Wikus Got Sprayed Himself"Love this AI content
AI would use proper grammar at least
The way I wouldve been shaking the camera with laughter especially when that Prawn went nuts tossing Wikus and his crew around 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Just saw this film. Knocked me right out of my chair 😮
This film is fantastic - glad you enjoyed it :)
From what I've read and heard, Johannesburg is like this now..minus aliens.
Great fluid. Enables you to wield cool alien energy weapons and other techs like exosuits.
Also slowly starts changing your appearance. But I don’t think that’s a good thing
Crazy how they made a giant prawn alien into a sympathetic character
The eyes chico, they never lie
We need a sequel its long over due

Worldwide liberation is on the horizon, thank you for your words my friend.
That’s the whole point of the movie. It’s an allegory of the real-life events that took place during apartheid-era District 6 in South Africa.
Such a great movie
guess he diddnt watch the movie Alien or any sifi movie involving any sort of canister
Was the bigger yellow prawn also his child? How would it not know what their own technology looked like?

The object was fuel for the key ship so it coukd fly up to the mothership and leave earth and come back with the cure
I'm pretty sure it was established that was fuel that happened to mutate people into Prawns.
Not true lmao
Why the fuck did he turn into a prawn then lmao
The prawns use biotech that fuel was also biotech containing their dna which is why he turned
Nunca salió la segunda parte..es muy buena esta pelicula..

Wikus' transformation implies that every single prawn alien either transformed or is a child of some other race that transformed and thats horrifying

Had the bugs simply sprayed this stuff in the air they could have taken over the planet. :)
