@01:37, NICE!!!! This is a very well-loved Sakura palette!!! :^D You can just immedietly tell that it produced a lot of good artwork!! I love the visage of all the mixed colours in the mixing wells as well as the ones in crooks and cranies all around the palette!! 💕👍 You are a true artist! 👏 😃
Probably you could buy the watercolors in tubes and fill the koi box again?💚 I use the white knites watercolor at home and cheap children watercolor on the go
Thank you for another great video! This was super helpful!! I love seeing an artist's supplies! 😃 And it's very encouraging to see that you can create your amazing sketches with a limited palette. 👍💕💕
Hi Becky, I very much hope you're keeping safe and well. Just wanted to thank you for taking the time for sharing your knowledge. I really appreciate it
Hi Becky, I have the Sakura Koi palette too. If you ran out of some colors, they sell refill blocks for every color, so you can replace each color you might need.
I agree! I love my Sakura Koi Watercolor set. I have a couple others but I always go back to the Sakura Koi Set because it is so user friendly and has lovely colors. Plus it holds everything... paint, mixing trays, sponges and your brush.
I made myself a palette out of Starbucks bubble gym tin box in which I put the medicine (pill) blister with gouache and a sponge to clean the the blister has 8 colors in it, but I could add more. It's very light and portable! 🤞🤞🤞🤣🤣🤣
I loveeee your videos.. I'm so happy and blessed that I found your channel. With the paints, Do they have a good holding light-fast? Im thinking of selling my art someday.💖💖
This has been so useful Becky...and it's great to know t main 12 colours u lik to use most in a box x I bought a box of Kuretake Gansai Tambi Japanese watercolours as my brother was painting and said I soud try his and they r so creamy...and wth using a water brush...they wet up quickly...not lik some other watercolours...u just wipe ur brush even once across t large pan and t paint is on t brush...u don't hav to hav a puddle of water on them and they don't need misting to get them started to b used x they sure r worth trying out...and amazon sell them in different size boxes x 😉
Hi Wendy, I have tried Kuretake Gansai Japanese watercolors years ago, it works great as you said. I think it is more suitable for painting in the studio and not convenient to take outdoors and around because the box is quite large. The paint cakes are large and lasts for a long time... Hopefully they make smaller palettes in the future.
@@BeckyCao Hi Becky...they make a box of 12 now which is 2 rows of 6 and I have a box coming from amazon and will pop the 12 colours that I have been using as I follow ur advice and that will b handy in my bag when I go out sketching...I really love the water brushes too and so handy when out as u don’t need a water bottle ...thanks for all the teaching u do on RUclips...u r so generous to share ur ideas and advice and so much encouragement u give... I am so very grateful and thrilled to hav got started on sketchbook journaling x bless u and trust ur theses is going well x
Hey Becky. I’ve been re-watching your old videos ‘cause I like your content. =) Question: in your old videos you briefly mentioned/showed White Nights/Sonnet, but you almost rarely mention it. Like in this video. Did you not like those paints??
The White Nights watercolors pigments are great, but I found the metallic palette to be too heavy to carry around for everyday travelling. The Sakura Koi is much lighter in comparison.
what kind of pen should i use to sketch before watercolor painting? i found that regular sketch pens bleed and make things an inky black because of the water 🥺 helpppp?

Thank you, Becky for the watercolor palettes comparison. :)

Thanks for your video. You can use a magnetic holder (for phone) to stick behind the palette 🎨
What a wonderful channel! So glad I found you. 💗

I totally agree! The Sakura palette is so well designed.

Sounds great! It's very nice to play around with recycled materials.

Have you tried the Watercolor Palette by Portable Painter? I love it’s pocket size and you can add colors you use most often to it. 🥰
Ohh not yet. I will check it out! 😀 Thanks for your recommendation.
Thank you this was so helpful

@@BeckyCao That makes sense, they come with full pans so I can see why you think they’re too heavy for travel.
I would just combine my left colors in one box

You have to make sure the pen is waterproof. Get the Faber-Castell PITT artist's pens, Staedtler pigment fine liner, Micron Pigma pens.
I just found you. You are so inspiring. Did you finish your thesis?
Thank you! The thesis was done over a year ago and I graduated already.
@@BeckyCao Congratulations!
