That first song is about immigration hate. The stereotypes and all. "Oh so you're running from poverty but can affort to take a plane/boat here?" Shit like that. And how it's so easy to be all tough when you're safe in your basement behind a screen. I assume the black eyes is supposed to symbolize how a lot of people demonize immigrants.
Recently I’ve noticed how a good majority of Norwegian rap is social commentary, often about racism, mental health, substance abuse, and that kind of gave me a new appreciation for it
the first one is a fine ass masterpiece, people literally get this song as assignments in school because it is so deep, people write thesis's and exams on this song. you really need to get some good translations for the song. also most of this group songs are super deep ! true art
Yeah, in theory norwegian is pretty easy to learn. but you want to communicate with norwegians? Yeah, welcome to learning the language 30+ different ways, because of all the dialect variations!
Amazing video. Just wanted to drop a comment to explain the history behind the first song, as I am a huge fan of Karpe. They are singing about all the hate in comments on the internet. the lyrics is basiclly just them reading the comments. Hope this made sense. Would love to see a Part 2. Then you should react to Isah, who is the most up and comming artist in norwegian rap atm, and have been working with Karpe.
The first song is used in pretty much all Norwegian schools to analyze the lyrics. The lyrics are written like a poem, and it's really deep. It's been used in exams. It's really a beutiful song.
@@umairabbas5918 Are you Norwegian? If so, where in Norway do you live? I'm a colored person that's been living in Norway my whole life, and I've never been treated badly. I know there are racist people here, but there are racist people in every country.
In the Karpe Diem song they rap about racism, and use alot of derogatory words and stuff said about immigrants in comment sections. And they have dark eyes since they are seen as monsters or something. It's one of my favorites from them.
you have to listen to Admiral P with the song « gjør så godt du kan «. Which means do as best you can. He has Zambian mother and Norwegian father and moved from Zambia to Norway at the age of 13. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Part 2 you should react to: Karpe - Skittles ( Mostly because of the style of the video as well as it's a very catchy song) Lars Vaular - Stripar ( Straight and pure bars) Lars Vaular - Rett opp og ned ( Rave/Techno rap) Arif & Unge Ferrari - BBB ( Hype song )
The song in 9:31. This is the lyric from norwegian to english. So the "Lett å være rebell i kjellerleiligheten din" by Karpe is a very dark political song. It's a parody of politicians who hates immigrants. An excerpt of the lyrics translated to English are things like: "They said they came from poverty, but had money for the boat over here -- Is this what my tax money is for?", "I don't care if you're Tshawe, Vinz or Nico (black celebs) -- Is it you who are taking my daughter to the movies?", "All of you come from the same place," "We don't need people like this," "You will never be a Scandinavian, you naver, naver, naver," ("naver" is the term used about people in the social welfare system), and "Oh lord, oh lord, can you forgive me for wanting a car and boat? No!"
The first song has like focus on how it’s not easy to get a job and be expected by the community when you com from a country with war and stuf I think it’s some thing like that
1 song: Lett å være rebell i kjellerleiligheten din=easy to be a rebell in your basement-apartment Anders Andersen= pretty common Norwegian first and last name 2 song) fy faen= oh fuck/shame fuck Fy is like a short word for shame Example:FYYY, FYYY, you are not allowed to do that. when Karpe says the name "Anders Anundsen" he is talking about a politician that wants to take away long staying immigrants, in fact, the entire song is about him. the title is about him and the choruses are about a so called "anchor child" living in norway
2:37 he said «mulla mulla mulla everyone is getting fucked» and i think it is weird how my mom that hates swearwords sings this part in the car all the time hahahahaha
BLVK O = ❤️ And since you reacted to the remix, I think you should react to the original: Kamelen - Si ingenting(say nothing) You should also react to: Gamekingz - For the kids (I know the guy behind the song)
The first song is about immigration. And that faded voice you hear reads mean comments and tweets like "is this what my tax money goes to" "they said they were poor but had money for a boat" and "where's your passport". And the black eyes represent that they're immigrants.
Hi bro! Could you please react to more Norwegian music, absolutely loved your first one! I’d love it if you could’ve reacted to more of Karpe’s songs espescially from the album Heisann Montebello :)
AR Gaming! Well considering they were both born in Norway, they technically are. I know both have diffrent backgrounds from India and Egypt, but they’re technically Norwegian. With your logic you could say that no people from the american continent is american, they’re just European, African, Asian and Oceanic (or what ever people from Oceania is called 😂)
Johr yt 2 No they are not. They are foreigners both of them. No they are not technically norwegian. Chirag is Indian of Gujrati descent and Magdi is Egyptian. I know better than you. The logic thing is correct. The only americans are native americans. None of the rappers in this video is norwegian BTW.
Umair Abbas I mean the «native americans» originally came from Asia. Also Magdi’s mom is Norwegian, so he is both born in Norway, is a norwegian citizen and has a Norwegian mom, so I’d say he’s Norwegian. Chirag is a Norwegian citizen, was born in Norway, but has foreign parents. My point is that if you can’t say someone that is a Norwegian citizen and is born in Norway is Norwegian, then who can you say is from anywhere? Also their wikipedia says they’re Norwegian, so if you would like to argue any further, argue with Wikipedia.
The first song is partly written out of comments on other videos, and is a political song about how dark skinned people are treated in Norway, like hidden rasicm.
@@annabv55 well, norwegians are a people. Just like everything else, Ethnicity is a thing, so please have some respect for that. If i sing in norwegian but move to a country in africa and get myself an african passport, Does it make my music african, or Does it make me an african? Not to me. So if you wanna show your friends a vid claiming that it is real african music, and you show a vid of me, singing in norwegian, im sure someone would point out that my music would not be real african music. Some might even be offended by the fact that you call it african music. When its a White guy singing in norwegian. I dont know, but in my experience if im gonna show some vocal talent from a country, id make sure its someone from the country and at very least in the countrys language. I dont expect you to agree with me. But that is my view. No hate, No racism. But respecting what it is and where it comes from
@@MrBjornibjorn well the thing is that they’re SINGING IN NORWEGIAN. so yes, if a friend asked me to show me a video of norwegian rap I would show them something like this. doesn’t matter where they’re born or where they’ve grown up. if they rap norwegian it’s norwegian rap. if you rapped in african and someone asked me to show them african rap, why wouldn’t I show them you? it would be slightly different if they said “old, classic, african music” but this is just a matter of norwegian rap. and these people happen to be one of the most popular norwegian rappers, born in Africa or not. and they also happen to be extremely good at what they do.
@@annabv55 You are entitled to your opinion, and that makes me happy :) **This is long, and i apologize for that.** It seems we differ on what makes someone or something etnic. Its just a matter on how you see things really.. I would show them Ivar or somone like that, if they wanted to hear norwegian music. AKA Ravi & DJ løv or maybe dumdumboys, the kids etc One day we all will just be a memory of what people used to look and sound like in this land. (Kebabnorsk is already a term= our language will change) Unfortunately, Your view is what made the native americans lose their claim of being the majority people of ethnic in america. The fact that everyone had equal rights to call themselves American, made settlers from Europe just take landmasses for themselves, build european settlements in USA. Not reguarding the fact that the landmasses belonged to a people who had lived there for 15.000 of years it was all gone in way under 400 years. It brought war, genocide and almost complete extermination of the natives in America. Now they are just a "melting pot" and the fragments of a ethnic people is all but a hurtful memory. some try to "give back" what is lost to the natives in USA, but its just to many issues about this to make up for what was lost. I personally think it is a great shame that we cant find the native american culture all over USA growing, blooming and what it could have had to offer in terms of culture, music, architecture etc. its just a thing of the past that will never come back. Its not the same if i put on a native american costume, learns a forgotten language of the mohicans, moves to us and tries to make a song in mohican language. (it might even offend some ppl that a white guy, claims he is native american) Its all a matter of perspective, really :) Remember when Siv Jensen dressed up as a native american and we all thought it was disrespectful? What do we say when black people dress up as Vikings? Is that disrespectful? (personally i didnt care that she dressed up as a native american. she was not claiming to be decendant of native americans either way. and as long as blacks dont claim to be decendents of vikings -see SAS commercial about "what is truly scandinavian- i dont care if they wanna dress up as vikings for fun. Depending on how you treat your ethnic people and their culture, matters if it will survive to the next generation or if it will change to something else or dissapear complete. National pride is different to everyone. The Native Americans who are left, claim great pride in their culture and ancestors. that is the only reason it still exist to some degree to this day. Some think its good, some think its bad, and some dont give a shit and some seek to destroy it, not even knowing that they are doing it. My hope is that everyone will preserve what is a ethnic ppl and culture and then improve on it, instead of replacing it. (no matter where it is on earth. I believe every people has a right to preserve their nation and national identity. Cuz i love to visit their culture and see something new. Or what greatness their culture have to offer. Then when i wanna go home and see more of my own people, i travel back to my own people around me and feel at home) That is why i find it almost offensive that this music here is what is "claimed" to be "norwegian music". And luckily im entitled to my own opinion :-) But i know its more of a wishful thinking with todays youth, who loves african american gangster music, more than norwegian music. Old values are thrown out the window, being replaced with values that i dont think is good. (F-ck b-tches and get money, power through fear and respect means fear of violent individuals) I dont think these are healthy values. But hey, now we have; Youth who thinks being proud of being Norwegian= racism Person Proud of being white=racist acknowledge white ethnicity= racism against minorities Proud of being black=respect Proud of african nationality= development Black history month= best thing that happened to human kind Its a bit of hypocracy in my eyes Anyway, as you might have guessed im a white Proud Norwegian man who is a bit old fashioned but loves his own country and its people. I feel we are headed in a direction that is not gonna take care of our National identity. Hope you have a great day, no matter what your views on all of this are :)

But respecting what it is and where it comes from
@@MrBjornibjorn
well the thing is that they’re SINGING IN NORWEGIAN. so yes, if a friend asked me to show me a video of norwegian rap I would show them something like this. doesn’t matter where they’re born or where they’ve grown up. if they rap norwegian it’s norwegian rap.
if you rapped in african and someone asked me to show them african rap, why wouldn’t I show them you? it would be slightly different if they said “old, classic, african music” but this is just a matter of norwegian rap. and these people happen to be one of the most popular norwegian rappers, born in Africa or not. and they also happen to be extremely good at what they do.
@@annabv55 You are entitled to your opinion, and that makes me happy :)
**This is long, and i apologize for that.**
It seems we differ on what makes someone or something etnic. Its just a matter on how you see things really..
I would show them Ivar or somone like that, if they wanted to hear norwegian music. AKA Ravi & DJ løv or maybe dumdumboys, the kids etc
One day we all will just be a memory of what people used to look and sound like in this land. (Kebabnorsk is already a term= our language will change)
Unfortunately, Your view is what made the native americans lose their claim of being the majority people of ethnic in america.
Then when i wanna go home and see more of my own people, i travel back to my own people around me and feel at home)
That is why i find it almost offensive that this music here is what is "claimed" to be "norwegian music".
And luckily im entitled to my own opinion :-)
But i know its more of a wishful thinking with todays youth, who loves african american gangster music, more than norwegian music.
Old values are thrown out the window, being replaced with values that i dont think is good. (F-ck b-tches and get money, power through fear and respect means fear of violent individuals) I dont think these are healthy values. But hey, now we have;
Youth who thinks being proud of being Norwegian= racism
Person Proud of being white=racist
acknowledge white ethnicity= racism against minorities
Proud of being black=respect
Proud of african nationality= development
Black history month= best thing that happened to human kind
Its a bit of hypocracy in my eyes
Anyway, as you might have guessed im a white Proud Norwegian man who is a bit old fashioned but loves his own country and its people. I feel we are headed in a direction that is not gonna take care of our National identity.
Hope you have a great day, no matter what your views on all of this are :)
