I've always loved the additional story in RE if you just take the time to explore and read the diaries, reports, and additional things. These little touches always add a nice layer to the games and stories and it feels more horrifying. One of my personal favorites is the watchman's diary and how it shows a progression from the outbreak and the spreading of the virus from a minor occurrence, but a very nice touch. Moreover, I wonder if the watchman was the zombie you encounter in the same room, it sounds kind of sad like that.

I'm inclined to believe the author doesn't know about the random easter egg girl that screams outside in the streets. After Jill chases her, the girl is coincidentally found dead just outside Dario's building, having encountered a zombie. Judging by the girl's appearance and high pitched scream, I'd imagine it was the daughter, which makes sense since the comic didn't mention anything about her sustaining an injury, like her mother did. To me, this is why Dario exited his container because he heard his daughter's screams. Dario was intent to starve to death, but after hearing his daughter, he exited on his own accord. Let me also put it this way: Why the hell would the developers add a random survivor who Jill can chase a bit, only to have her die outside Dario's place? Afterwards, coincidentally, Dario is found outside his container. It doesn't add up any other way; otherwise, that's a crazy weird coincidence.

Once again, can these manhua really be considered canon? In RE3 it seemed like that one girl who was running around in the alley near his hideout was his daughter and he left because he heard her scream or something... This is definitely more tragic and makes more sense!

Turns out after he walked out from the crane before eat alive, he actually saw his zombie wife and daughter in the horde of zombies attacking him and he actually was eaten alive by them as well. That is the part you miss out.
I imagine this is what Dario must have said after Jill left: Dario: Can you believe that woman? I lose my mother, wife and daughter out there in the outbreak, and she tells me to go back outside just so those monsters can get me too?! HA! What does it matter if I stay here or go back outside? As far as I'm concerned, I'm pretty much dead either way.
You should do a video on the RE Outbreak survivors some of those characters have very interesting pasts like Yoko who used to be an umbrella employee and Alyssa who is a journalist who has an article that can be found in RE 7 nobody really knows what really happened to them after raccoon city
Nathan Perez i see ...But still make sense to say the survivor is alive since they escape with helicopter haha. Wish they are canon too sobs but still good spin off tho rather than shitty operation raccoon city
Alyssa is also referenced in RE 2 and somewhere I saw an extra game where you play as her, in the police station. Not sure if that’s her actual “mission” or just a different outfit you can put on.
I know this is old by months, but as someone said, Outbreak is canon. Her article in RE7 happened in 2016, years after RE 2 and 3 took place, but it’s also as another said: There’s really not a reason to bring the Outbreak characters into the fold unless they did something else (Like join the BSAA, exposed more of Umbrella, etc.)
I have things to correct, the backstory of Dario from the hong kong manga are actually made up, non cannon one. They just made it based on his diary and they made it more tragic, Dario wasn't that cold blooded, he just scared after losing his family.
I always assumed that the girl with the merc's corpse in the Clock Tower was his daughter. The merc's diary really makes it seem like she is and that the girl outside the warehouse was just a random girl.
Glad I found your channel. I always wondered about that but never actually bothered to research it. I guess I might want to check out that manga. Im digging your stuff sir, hats off.
When you go back to the warehouse there's a zombie standing over a corpse that wasn't there beforehand, and activating it only says 'She's dead...'. It seems very apropos for it to be outside the warehouse, and only appear after a certain point, so I'm more inclined to believe that is Dario's daughter.
there's a similar story for a couple of cops from the RPD in the game, one saves the other but when time comes to return the favor the other doesn't, and then ultimately shoots himself with his own shotgun
I would honestly die trying to save my loved ones. I would give my life to save theirs without a split second of hesitation. If they die, I die with them. A world without them in it is a world I don't care to live in.
28 Weeks Later had FAST moving zombies which could chase you and catch you even if you were on the run, and the man was caught in his own house. In this case, Dario outran his wife and child instead of holding their hands while attempting to get away from the zombies, and then shut the gate on them while hearing their cries for help from some paces away. Dario did not even make slightest effort to save his family when he could. The two situations are not comparable.
@@TBAL83-Social I was just about to say this. Plus, while RE zombies puke acid in game, it's never seen anywhere else and not a means of transmission. 28 Days runners have MULTIPLE transmissions of the virus, from vomiting blood, bites, scratches, even a single kiss can infect (as seen in 28 weeks). So he could've ran back, grabbed them, and ran on as zeds can only infect by physical attacks. He had enough time to shut and lock the gate LONG before the dead reached it, his wife and daughter would've been clinging to it as death creeped up from behind, he had enough time to save them both and no one would've been infected. Bites aren't always fatal. A human can sustain tons of damage, adrenaline keeps them alive longer. They would've died in agony because of someone they trusted then joined the ranks of the undead. The guy was far worse than just a coward.
“Both my wife daughter and bag” Actually お袋 here which you translated as bag means mother in Japanese. Or I should say it’s one of many other ways to say mother in Japanese
When you go back to the warehouse there's a girl going to the same warehouse who seems to always be one step ahead of you. Once you catch up with her right outside the warehouse she's killed by a zombie or something like that. I always though that was Dario's daughter
Nall Calmer not only that why would you want someone around you during the zombie apocalypse that would leave his own wife and child to die think of what he'd do to you a stranger 🤔
when you go back to the warehouse where dario is, sometimes you can hear a girl screaming, and find some zombies killing her, i always thought the girl was his daughter
In the same Manhua, i remember Carlos encountering a mother and daughter zombie that was still holding hands as they roamed the streets. I wonder if that was Dario's family?
I dont know why they left this out of the remake! It would of been really compelling than just an old man yelling at you. The game would also be alot more longer with a ton of side missions you can do... Reading memos of peoples hidden thoughts was what makes this game so interesting and speaks a lot about the inner psyche of man.
You can actually find Dario's daughter alive when you circle back to reach the location of Dario again.. When you find her, she is being chased by the zombies but before you could even reach her, she will be overruned by the zombies.
I have a question...when you return to where you meet dario ive noticed that there is a dead female corpse just out side the door....I often wondered if that was the daughter coming to find Dario also hearing her voice made him leave that container.....I was wondering if you knew anything about this unknown female
Ash Ware Entertainment~Good theory AWE, although I doubt the pathetic little bastard would have come out for her. His final journal stated how he cared only for himself. He more likely either left looking for food, or tried a vein attempt to escape, and got overrun. Then again, he could have had a final moment of soul searching (if your theory is correct), but I don't think he had much of a soul to begin with.
@@DBarns7 I notice a lot of people saying he's "soulless" "spineless" "coward" etc. Not every man has a huge strong mindset every man breaks and becomes a "coward" eventually Dario was faced with a situation he never faced before with no training and no weapons and no mental fortitude he's not a coward persay he wasn't ready for what happened in Raccoon City think he's the only one to leave his family behind to save his own skin? Mothers, Wives, Husbands, other Fathers did it so let me ask you something mate out of everyone all the people in the world he's spineless and a coward because he was scared? It's normal the biggest strongest men break the fastest and that is a fact And it is possible that he went out to rescue his daughter once he finally gained enough courage and no I don't care what's in his notebook notebooks only hold information from venting and releasing anxiety and anger etc. So you can't use his notebook as a final statement from him if that were the case my clients would all be put in heavy prescription drugs writing is a form of expression that helps ease tension and onced ease helps people as you see with a scared guy who witnessed death chaos and snapped it's normal so get off your high horse
Charles Bean~ Get off my high horse? Why don't you get off yours? I'm only stating my opinion from what I've seen and read. Dario to me was a gutless weasel from what the evidence was presenting. Do all people break at some point? Maybe. However , Dario was made out to be a guy who only cared about numero uno, and that was himself. If he was something more or better, the evidence doesn't to seem to back it. Many other people here seem to agree on this. If you want to see it from another perspective, or look deeper into it, you're certainly entitled to it. Me, I'm just going with what was presented before me.
They should make Dario's story a DLC for the RE2 remake that is coming out this year. Give the player choices to make throughout the story. Too many incorrect choices will result in Dario's canon fate, where his cowardice and stupidity gets his entire family killed, and he ends up sitting alone in the loading truck, writing his last letter while waiting to die. But enough correct choices will result in a departure from canon, where he goes on to escape from Raccoon City with his family, and writes a novel based on his experience escaping Raccoon City, which launches his career as a best-selling novelist. I would also like to see a DLC featuring the story of John, the Umbrella scientist who Ada had been manipulating by pretending she loved him.
As interesting a concept as that sounds, it wouldn't work. Dario appears in Resident Evil 3, and were talking about the Resident Evil 2 remake. It is very unlikely he'll appear, though there's always a chance for a reference or a mention
RE2 and RE3 both take place on the same day. RE2 begins in the evening and ends in the wee hours of the morning; RE3 begins in the wee hours of the morning and ends in the later hours of the morning. Dario's letter is also found in RE2, albeit it in a bus rather than a loading truck. Dario's story can easily be worked into RE2.
@@cynicalnitro8416 Well, with the RE3 remake now less than 2 months from release, I think it's all but certain that Dario will have a storyline and be a playable character as a bonus.
I always thought that the mercenary in the clock tower who died trying to protect a young girl had something to do with this story. Like the girl was his daughter or wife
Surprised this wasn't in the video. The mercenary's diary says something to the effect that the girl doesn't want to leave because her Dad is still in the city. I always assumed this was Dario's daughter who may have initially survived without Dario knowing but was later killed.
They need to do a remake of Resident Evil 2 based on the journals you read of the officers trying to escape the police station. That would be pretty awesome I think.
I told u I'm not leaving NEVER!!! JUST GET AWAY FROM ME.... He really sounded like a monster the last part but sum versions they took out the last tone of his voice
If you played Resident Evil 3, later on in the game go back to the warehouse. You will hear a young lady screaming when you are in the alley. She tried to make it inside the warehouse but she is killed before Jill shows up. When you show up all you see is her dead body and a bunch of crows. I am not sure but i think that is his daughter. And...you can't save her no matter what you do, believe me i tried.
Hm weird when you go back in RE 3 you hear a woman scream and then find a corpse that is feasted upon by a Zombie that wasn't there before. I always thought that was Darios daughter.

Nice video~but in the Japanese version of Dario’s memo, there were some mistranslation. At one part,it was translated as my wife,my daughter and my bag. But「お袋」(ohukuro) actually means mother, not bag.
Judging from the area where the dead body was at. It seemed she was getting chased by zombies and Dario recognized his daughters scream so he left the container and building only to find his daughters gruesome death leading him back inside to the container which was to late for him. Was he the one that locked that steel bar door with the rope on it where you burn it off with the lighter? That alley kind of looked familiar.
Then whose that girl screaming when you go back to see dario being eaten???? You can see her running for a quick second befor the she runs off camera and when you go back to that warehouse room you can see her on the floor with a zombie standing above her... I alway thought that was his daughter.
there is also the dead girl in the clock tower that died in the arms of that soldier. he also carried a diary that said she is the daughter of someone if I recall correctly. she also wears pink like the girl in the alley. I always considered one of them be the canon daughter of dario,
Also she could have survived if you remember early in the game you can see a young girl near blue mountain restaurant with a torn shirt scream and by the time you catch up to her a zombie has already killed her.. in the Re3 guide it states that its Dario's daughter. so again she survived the first attack but not the 2nd
Gosh...I don't know how I feel about Dario right now. I can't blame him for being frigthened. But he could have saved his daugther at least if his wife wasn't fit to move...just damn

I imagine this is what Dario must have said after Jill left:
Dario: Can you believe that woman? I lose my mother, wife and daughter out there in the outbreak, and she tells me to go back outside just so those monsters can get me too?! HA! What does it matter if I stay here or go back outside? As far as I'm concerned, I'm pretty much dead either way.
Zombies banging on the container"you sure are Dario..you sure are...now get your fat ass out here so we can eat you.....oh wait I mean...errrrrrrrrr"
You should do a video on the RE Outbreak survivors some of those characters have very interesting pasts like Yoko who used to be an umbrella employee and Alyssa who is a journalist who has an article that can be found in RE 7 nobody really knows what really happened to them after raccoon city
Nathan Perez eh how they die? From what i know those Survivors made their escape. Explain pls. Hope Kevin is alive _(:'D
Nathan Perez i see ...But still make sense to say the survivor is alive since they escape with helicopter haha.
Wish they are canon too sobs but still good spin off tho rather than shitty operation raccoon city
Outbreak is canon they all successfully escape the city but they not important to the story so what reasons to bring them back.
I doubt that as the bodies in the clocktower have been dead for days, and Dario loosing his daughter was recent.
I'm back! Rewatching all tour manga vids is SUCH A TREAT! thank you my friend. ❤
Glad I found your channel. I always wondered about that but never actually bothered to research it. I guess I might want to check out that manga. Im digging your stuff sir, hats off.
Dustin Ethridge it's not cannon. It's Chinese cannon
When you go back to the warehouse there's a zombie standing over a corpse that wasn't there beforehand, and activating it only says 'She's dead...'. It seems very apropos for it to be outside the warehouse, and only appear after a certain point, so I'm more inclined to believe that is Dario's daughter.
She's not, Dario talks like she died before the game started.
*I always thought that guy looked like Doc Ock...*
Rice MenaRQ 😑😑
More like the burnt out accountant of doc ock
Dead meat madness. Love it, that’s the only name for a zombie outbreak now
there's a similar story for a couple of cops from the RPD in the game, one saves the other but when time comes to return the favor the other doesn't, and then ultimately shoots himself with his own shotgun
This reminds me of the beginning scene from 28 Weeks Later. Some people might call him a coward but what would you do?
Great point, Paul.
@@TBAL83-Social he was a coward thru and thru. His actions aren't justifiable. He chose survival over his family, then did anyways. Fuking trash.
Very interesting to know about the lesser known characters.
Thx Man. Keep them coming.
Kinda like Harry Cooper (Night Of The Living Dead) hid in the basement. Maybe he was an inspiration for Capcom.
basement was the best spot.....until they found the attic.
Attic was only in the remake........
“Both my wife daughter and bag”
Actually お袋 here which you translated as bag means mother in Japanese.
Or I should say it’s one of many other ways to say mother in Japanese
Old bag.
Simply googling those characters says that it means mother. That makes much more sense than "bag", unless it had his "magic nose suggar".
When you go back to the warehouse there's a girl going to the same warehouse who seems to always be one step ahead of you. Once you catch up with her right outside the warehouse she's killed by a zombie or something like that. I always though that was Dario's daughter
Before going inside in the small alley, there is a woman who screams before a zombie mauls her to death.
Awesome Video
Please keep them coming.
Hope your year is starting well and hope your holiday was awesome.
Y looks like complete explanation many aspects
Well, both Dario stories are interesting. Cool video 😎 @Score PN.
If only he listened to Jill
Mr. Check Yourself He still would've died tbh, likely to Nemesis or one of the other bosses
He'd have been dead weight for her and would end up killed by any of the zombies or b.o.w's roaming the streets.
Nall Calmer not only that why would you want someone around you during the zombie apocalypse that would leave his own wife and child to die think of what he'd do to you a stranger 🤔
His fat ass wouldn't be able to keep up with Jill he would end up being bait for zombies
when you go back to the warehouse where dario is, sometimes you can hear a girl screaming, and find some zombies killing her, i always thought the girl was his daughter
In the same Manhua, i remember Carlos encountering a mother and daughter zombie that was still holding hands as they roamed the streets. I wonder if that was Dario's family?
The zombies dined on his body like the last can of chef boyardee.
"-Both my wife, daughter, and bag-" I love this so much. R.I.P bag.
Dario, the resident evil version of Eugene from the walking dead.
i told you!! im not leaving!! never!!!
I dont know why they left this out of the remake! It would of been really compelling than just an old man yelling at you. The game would also be alot more longer with a ton of side missions you can do... Reading memos of peoples hidden thoughts was what makes this game so interesting and speaks a lot about the inner psyche of man.
He not only left his wife and daughter, he locked them inside the gate with those monsters. He's worse than a coward. He's a coward's coward!!
I am pretty sure Dario's daughter was the one who died inside St.Michael Clock Tower, hugged by a UBCS mercenary
i really dont know? mystery i see 2 in the game, the girl running away our the girl die clock tower
Ash Ware Entertainment yeah I I've noticed that too!
I always assumed it was her. Cause you hear a scream and I always thought there was a way to save her
Ash Ware Entertainment~Good theory AWE, although I doubt the pathetic little bastard would have come out for her.
Not every man has a huge strong mindset every man breaks and becomes a "coward" eventually
Dario was faced with a situation he never faced before with no training and no weapons and no mental fortitude he's not a coward persay he wasn't ready for what happened in Raccoon City think he's the only one to leave his family behind to save his own skin?
Mothers, Wives, Husbands, other Fathers did it
so let me ask you something mate out of everyone all the people in the world he's spineless and a coward because he was scared? It's normal the biggest strongest men break the fastest and that is a fact
And it is possible that he went out to rescue his daughter once he finally gained enough courage and no I don't care what's in his notebook
notebooks only hold information from venting and releasing anxiety and anger etc.
So you can't use his notebook as a final statement from him
if that were the case my clients would all be put in heavy prescription drugs writing is a form of expression that helps ease tension and onced ease helps people
as you see with a scared guy who witnessed death chaos and snapped
it's normal so get off your high horse
Fuck him. This slime doesn't deserve to live
@@cynicalnitro8416 Well, with the RE3 remake now less than 2 months from release, I think it's all but certain that Dario will have a storyline and be a playable character as a bonus.
Dang that was a great video Resident Evil 2 is my second favorite game of all time but I do remember Dario from part 3
“MotherFucker..” 😂😂😂 I was not expecting that hahaha Good Shit M8, Yet Another Awesome Video!! 🙌🏽🔥🔥
Me too, caught me off guard mid-drink. Haha
I already wrote the guy off as worthless, way back when I first played RE3. This just reaffirms that.
Dead meat madness would be a cool name for a band
I always thought that the mercenary in the clock tower who died trying to protect a young girl had something to do with this story. Like the girl was his daughter or wife
Surprised this wasn't in the video. The mercenary's diary says something to the effect that the girl doesn't want to leave because her Dad is still in the city. I always assumed this was Dario's daughter who may have initially survived without Dario knowing but was later killed.
Cross Dimension also I have completed the game about 40 times I think but I had never seen the girl that runs away in the alley
He sounds like an angry kid who's gets mad cuz you took his chocolate candy bar
Cesar Burrito look at him; he doesn’t need it. 🤣
@@devilwings1989 bro 🤣🤣🤣🤣 your comment showed up out of nowhere and flipped my mood
umbrella was behind this
That dude had the best voice performance in the entirety of the original 4 games lmao
I always thought the intro to this game was great. I loved that it started with a narration already going on.
Where are all the parents in kingdom hearts
Steve Rogers ya I have been wondering for years where they are if they are around they are shit parents lol
i've always been wondering that lol
thats nice :3
The Human Unit Never Killed ":3" stop right there, national guard.
I’m heading home this weekend for a family reunion. Hope my bag will turn up LOL
the solider who was protecting somones duaghter in the bell tower
Can’t wait to see him in the Remake
He has some of the same lines.
They need to do a remake of Resident Evil 2 based on the journals you read of the officers trying to escape the police station. That would be pretty awesome I think.
That would be cool.
Keep up the good work and love that outro song
If i remember right this same note can be found in RE2 Leon A on the bus you go through on the way to the RPD building.
Aw you removed the weird voice he does if you interact with the container. "Just stay away from me"
he didn't lost his family. he left them like a weasel and betrayed them.
if he didn't yell it. they should be alive as a lovely family.
I remember this guy being like one of those stories people used to tell about different ways you can unlock him.
man this guys voice acting always creeped me out, i dont know what it was but as a kid it creeped me out and really set the tone for the game for me.
Id like you to do a series of these types of Resident Evil Characters, would be very interesting to watch
Excellent video, can you make a video about Hunk
Can we all have a moment of silence for Dario's dearly departed bag, shit just ain't fair.
Hm weird when you go back in RE 3 you hear a woman scream and then find a corpse that is feasted upon by a Zombie that wasn't there before. I always thought that was Darios daughter.
Thank u so much man
I wish to put 💯 likes for ur posts
U added more info for me... On resident evil...
I am a 1999 resident evil player... So i care about everything that matters with it...
Thank u ❤️👍
I always thought the girl who died in the arms of the dead mercenary while shielding her was his daughter.
wow when i played 3 i said he was an ass but this proves it .... dude i love ur videos i found u when looking for the story on nemesis great work
Nice video~but in the Japanese version of Dario’s memo, there were some mistranslation. At one part,it was translated as my wife,my daughter and my bag. But「お袋」(ohukuro) actually means mother, not bag.
Then who's the girl that ran to the warehouse and screamed when a zombie ate her outside the warehouse
Dario was my favorite character in RE3
The beginning was a really dramatic conversation. Acting really got better by 3
Judging from the area where the dead body was at.
I just lost my daughter out there
Then whose that girl screaming when you go back to see dario being eaten???? You can see her running for a quick second befor the she runs off camera and when you go back to that warehouse room you can see her on the floor with a zombie standing above her... I alway thought that was his daughter.
I love anything related to Resident Evil, I just suscribed to ur channel.
Always wondered what happened to his Wife and Daughter.
Will you be able to do a video on all the UBCS members even the ones from outbreak to?
there is also the dead girl in the clock tower that died in the arms of that soldier. he also carried a diary that said she is the daughter of someone if I recall correctly. she also wears pink like the girl in the alley.
Which Re3 guide mention about her exactly ?
@@adnanturker9471 Re Guide from Capcon
This reminds of 28 days later
Favorite RE in the series!
Gosh...I don't know how I feel about Dario right now. I can't blame him for being frigthened. But he could have saved his daugther at least if his wife wasn't fit to move...just damn
Ukrainum's World Indeed, I used to feel sorry for him but this certainly changed my perspective
Gamergirl4Jesus Have to agree
He deserved it, god i can understand him for leaving his wife but the daughter ugh im glad he died
Luka Vojinovic His wife is just as human as his daughter is, and his wife is someone's daughter. If he thought she was trash enough to leave to the zombies, he shouldn't have married her.
GamergirlAyaJesus I understand your point, he doesn't have an excuse for his action, leaving his daugther behind adds up to this thesis
Dario Rosso’s name is a reference to a director Dario Argento, collaborator George A. Romero Dawn of the Dead.
This could’ve been a separate ways for RE3 remake to see what happened to him and his family.
Never knew that this guy had a short manga story. Pretty cool.
I always thought his daughter was the woman that you see for a split second running, yelling for help.
