Light Flight became well known in the UK when it was used as the theme tune for a popular BBC drama series 'Take Three Girls', which captured the 'Swinging London' scene of the time.
I really like this! It’s sooo jazzy. This is new to me, so now I will spend a few days going down a rabbit hole for related music and more by his voice. “Meandering” is the best word to describe the journey.
Very good song choice from dad. Great taste. I mean dads youth was an unbeatable era in music so much talent around & pretty much everyone was great live too.
This guys music knowledge is insane. To hear a sample and know the song is from dean blunt instantly is crazy. Does anybody know his Spotify cuz I’m tryna follow
Delightful surprise that this song was being reacted to. Love this album, and the band. Lovely rapport between you both. I would highly recommend Steeleye Span’s The Weaver and the Factory Maid. Maddy Prior’s triple tracked acapella finale is a headphones treat!
Glad you enjoyed the reaction. Steeleye Span is indeed on my list of artists to play for Kai. He’s never heard them but knew I liked them, and low and behold actually found a mint copy of Below the Salt at Value Village a few months ago.
With Pentangle you are opening a new universe of music. Their first three albums are my favorites. Train Song from Basket of Light is probably one of the most rhytmically complex songs of that area. Then you have all the many solo albums by the guitarists Bert Jansch and John Renbourn. Unknown to many is their mentor and musical pioneer Davy Graham. Davy wrote the instrumental tune Anji, which Bert renamed Angie on his first album, elevating it to a whole new level. That first album turned the British folk scene on its head. Learning to play Bert's rendition is one of the rites of passage for aspiring acoustic guitarists so say they can say they have made it as a guitarist. Jimmy Page lifted Graham's She Moved Through the Fair and renamed it White Summer. Page also lifted Jansch's Black Waterside and renamed it Black Mountainside. He also incorporated some of Jansch's licks into Bron-Y-Aur Stomp. Neil Young is a huge Jansch fan and once said Bert's influence on the acoustic guitar was similar to Hendrix for the electric. In a completely different direction, you may like some of the Breton traditional music scene of the 1970s. First, try the early music of the godfather of Breton music, Alan Stivell.
I bought this album when it came out and played the record until it wore out and then bought the CD. This is just filled with gems I love everything about it. Thanks for this reaction form your newest subscriber.
This is what Hip Hop misses now, back then it was a portal to other genres, the excitement of finding the original source material sent you down all sorts of rabbit holes of discovery and appreciation, artists being stung for samples put an end to that, love your guys synergy, your son does you credit sir
I love this song and Just listed to Train song WOW...AMAZING! Thank you so much for introducing me to this wonderful group! I love watching your videos just to see Dad's reactions! Oh btw my youngest son is named Kai. 🙂

Um, I'm super sad that this channel features so many genres rap, hip hop and r&b but there is no Mariah Carey, the only human male or female next to the Beatles as far as hit songs go. She's done work with Nas, Jay z, Usher, Missy Elliott, Nicki Manaj, Busta Rhymes, she would have done work with Eminem, but they both are so intense that they just ended up in a rap battle lol *Rap Features: Mariah grew up in NY and loves rap music. She risked her image and career to do the music SHE wanted and made music history with the song "Fantasy" feat O.D.B. of The Wu Tang Clan (she's a big fan of The Wu)* -"Triumphant" feat Meek Mill and Rick Ross her song she wrote fro ex-husband Nick Cannon to help him with his journey being diagnosed with Lupus. - "I'll Be Loving you Long Time" feat TI -partners having each other's back -"Breakdown" feat Bone Thugs and Harmony one of the deepest break up songs ever written! About someone loosing their mind, but has to keep a straight face - "Unforgettable" (Mariah Carey Remix)” - French Montana feat. Mariah Carey, Swae Lee a song about a jolly good time with women *Ballads: Mariah hated writing Ballads, but she was sure good at it!* -"Anytime you Need a Friend" - Mariah Carey grew up in a very broken home and had to rely on God for strength. -"Outside" Mariah wrote this song about her biracial background and how she will always feel like she is on the Outside -"Butterfly" She basically sang her way to freedom from her abusive first husband (Music Mogul Tommy Mattola) and used she used this very powerful song to to persuade him to let her go! -"One Sweet Day" feat Boyz 2 Men also written with Boyz 2 Men saying goodbye to a loved one -"Hero" When you need to encourage yourself -"Can't Take That Away (Mariah's Theme)" she wrote this song as a middle finger to the industry...💜 -"My All" a song she wrote about an amazing night she wishes that she could go back to with her now ex Derek Jeter(whew!) *R&B: Mariah grew up in the 70's and 80's, so she knows a thing or two about good R&B and Soul* -"It's a Wrap" Mariah cussin' somebody the hell out - "We Belong Together" Mariah holds one of her longest notes (but "Lead The Way" was longer 21 seconds!) -"8th grade" a song about having a crush -"The Distance" about a couple holding strong together over many years together *Gospel: Her family home was in a lot of turmoil growing up and her Grandmother would come by to pray with Mariah and comfort her with scriptures* -"Fly Like a Bird" performed this live at The Grammys and received the only standing o that night💜 -"Make It Happen" powerful lyrics that encourage you that you can accomplish anything -"When You Believe" a song about miracles a duet with her friend, The Voice, Miss Whitney Houston (the song won an Oscar) -"My saving Grace" How her gift from God saved her life -"Lord I Pray" Mariah sings (prays) for peace for the world 💜= I highly recommend that you do not leave this earth without listening to these songs

I think the vibes are quite different, but still excellent recommendation that I wholeheartedly support 😊
It have me the doors feeling at the start
Okay, hear me out...I could see how this could have influenced the alternative rock and pop in the 90s. I can hear hints of Jewel and Alanis Morisette
If I squint I can indeed hear that Morisette connection you mention. I don’t know Jewel though. Thanks for watching. - Kai’s dad
Their guitarist Bert Jansch was a big influence on Johnny Marr too.

Luther has an amazing voice
it would mean the world to me if you get him to react to Seigfried or any Frank Oceans song
This song would be great for like a Subaru commercial
Recommendation: Dad should listen to So Many Tears by Tupac!
Notis
You'll never ever reacted to rammstein?
Can you review Heat Above by Greta Van Fleet? I think you both would enjoy that one.
You should do Mariah Carey - Fourth of July (Acapella)
