DUDE! i thought this was just a digital paintingtimelapse. then i skiped to the end. had more that simple rotations to. parts had the illusion of twisting in space. dear lord this is beautiful
Basically: 1. You pick an image 2. Split that image into elementary parts (you can go much in detail with even eyes and face expression) 3. Import the image to Spine 4. Put bones on the image 5. Do a mesh cage 2,5D-ish wobbles 6. Animate 7. 0-0 Sugoooy
I lost spirit and motivation after so many years I don't have a goal in my life, sometimes I want to create an animation of some of the games I have played, and I was really inspired by this video, thank u so much, I will try harder this time.
the magic of morphing with bones ^^ it remember another tool that was doing the same job, Toon Boom do also same thing but with vector graphics like illustrator.
Amazing work! I need to slow down the bits where you enclose shapes in 3D shapes to understand better but I loved the process video! I hope to see more, your art is mesmerizing! Love the flowy ladies!
+x-Ren-x Those are not actual 3d-shapes. It's a 2d mesh with strategically well-placed vertices. See the Spine documentation on meshes if you want to learn more.
Oh, I see, so Spine doesn't turn them into polygons, but does something more similar to the Warp tool in Photoshop, I guess? I'll go and have a look, though I backed Spriter on Kickstarter quite some time ago so I'm waiting for them to implement that feature in it, I'll be honest!
Hey Hwadock, cool stuff! I just found out that a client wants me to switch to spine after having worked together using Toonboom Harmony. Could you give me an idea of how long it takes an animator to get used to Spine? And regarding this video, how long did it take you to import, rig, and animate this one idle? Thanks!
Can you explain how to seperate layers and how to fill layers from brush after seperation More in detail.....it would be very generous if you can make one video......need your response ASAP!!!! ......I dont mind if its only Seperation and Brush filling
Hi Hwadock, is it possible to get the normal speed version of this video? Esp. the part where you animate the 2d asset into something 3d-looking. Would really appreciate that! :)
Excuse me sir, do you know if Spine can be used for cartoon shorts as well? I know it's primarily for games, but I can't seem to find any information about if it would work for anything else. If not, would you happen to know of any programs that allow you to "fake" 3d for a 2d drawing, similar to what's done in Spine?
This is really great, but I have a serious question to pose to the author: Is there a point where you think, "I may as well make this in 3D, considering the time it takes to separate all the pieces, create bones, and distortion meshes" ? Also taking into account this is only good for one angle of the character, i.e. you could not rotate her to see her back, without making a new set of images, correct? Furthermore, lighting is limited to only what is made statically (cannot be lit from beneath or another angle without more manual editing or possibly a normal map?). With polygon budgets for character models today in the 10,000+ range, why go the 2D route? Is it because of the smaller file size? With every new 2D rig you have to set up for each angle of the character would you not reach a point of diminishing return, where a realtime 3D model would be preferable? You could animate it in much more complex ways. Again, very good work, don't want to take away from, just legitimately curious.
+Will Harrison I think it'd be highly situational, maybe. If you only need this view of the character.. this is much faster. So maybe that is all they need, but like you said, if you need more the returns definitely are diminishing. Might just be a style thing too. Not sure.
+BLUE LED Different style, different results. You'd spend the same amount of time with a 3D model in the post-processing phase to create an aesthetically pleasing "fuzzy" and "blending" look to your otherwise crude and sharp 3D mesh. In drawing, one does not need post-processing effects, one draws them on the spot. 3D mesh VS 2D drawing = Easy and versatile for movement but limiting in appearance VS Difficult and lengthy but unconstrained in imagination and so beautiful to watch.
All good points but sometimes it's just easier to render out a decent 3d character and and do limited animation. Once it's cut up, it's cut up. Also you probably don't take the render hit that you would with 3D. It's all in how creative you can be and how fast you can do stuff. If someone is a fast 3d generalist and can achieve the look dev, character dev, UV, Texture, Rig, animate, render and do it FAST...more power to ya! Personally, I'm thinking of doing some 2.5D stuff and this looks right up my alley.
what is that modeling part called to create roll and bone animation on the z axis and can you do that in spriter pro too? cause i dont have the money for this and already have spriter pro, thanks
How can i create an animation frame that can show you the whole model of an object example: The thingy on the girl´s left shoulder when she flew down it showed you the zone above that thingy and when she flew down it showed you the side zone of it like u r rotating a 3d object in a 3d software like it can show you the entire object in 3d view. Since its 2d So do i have to create a new image that shows you the zone above that thingy and combine with the image that shows you the side zone of it( which is shown at the beginning of the vid) by drawing a new image or u just use spine to create it? Cuz it takes time to draw a new one and it might ruin the animation because it doesnt look like to be match with the image. Plz tell me cuz you fastfowarded the vid too fast
amazing ... and breath taking when you look on how 2d objects acts like 3d ... those shoulder pads ... technology went too far ... look at cubism 2.1 (live2d)
amazing to see a static image being brought to life like that
DUDE!
i thought this was just a digital paintingtimelapse.
then i skiped to the end.
had more that simple rotations to. parts had the illusion of twisting in space. dear lord this is beautiful
That is an insane amount of bones and mesh
Thanks to Live2D and it's templates, as long as you have your body parts layered, it saves hours and hours of work and can produce the same effect.
Basically:
1. You pick an image
2. Split that image into elementary parts (you can go much in detail with even eyes and face expression)
3. Import the image to Spine
4. Put bones on the image
5. Do a mesh cage 2,5D-ish wobbles
6. Animate
7. 0-0 Sugoooy
Dude this is awesome. It has a 3 dimensional effect. Definitely good
I would LOVE TO SEE your speed art. You should make more videos, you could get famous in the art community. Your work is so gorgeous.
I lost spirit and motivation after so many years I don't have a goal in my life, sometimes I want to create an animation of some of the games I have played, and I was really inspired by this video, thank u so much, I will try harder this time.
I diden't expect it to look that good in the end :D very nice.
Huh... so this is how some motion graphics are done. That's pretty dope.
Dude you are INSANE!!
This is amazing seriously mind blown !!
You just got yourself a new fan ;)
even though this vid is sped up it really helped, I'm using spine so i can see what he's doing now. Amazing stuff man!!
I didn't expect to watch jiggly physic. Well done. That was really amazing.
That was amazing work! Straight up made it look 3D.
You could take
more tutorials for new spine members who learn the best how to use this
software and create totally realistic animations. Thank you
Just amazing. Looks almost like it was 3D in the first place.
Insane amount of work.
wow, it really sells the 3D effect.
the magic of morphing with bones ^^ it remember another tool that was doing the same job, Toon Boom do also same thing but with vector graphics like illustrator.
Love the style of the character, awesome job!
This video is good for showing how it works
This is just amazing! It's just so fluid!
Amazing work! I need to slow down the bits where you enclose shapes in 3D shapes to understand better but I loved the process video! I hope to see more, your art is mesmerizing! Love the flowy ladies!

Exactly. It's all 2D, but if pushed the right way, it still looks convincingly three-dimensional.
Its actually insane what spine does when you think about it
wow amazing works!
would like to try too. it's really easy to understand
thanks !
¡Really cool!
Very accurate mesh control, maybe someday you could make a tutorial with some advice .
This is incredible!
god of spine
Hey Hwadock, cool stuff!

I am impressed by the shadows that are projected on her left hand in the leg. How did you achieve that?
thank you very much for sharing. Very inspiring work.
I wish I was this talented...
Oh my GOD!!!! this is beautiful ! 0_0
原来是这样,一直困扰我的问题,切线部分是要模拟出3D建模时候的布线才会出现2.5D效果啊。
OMGGGG THIS LOOK LIKE 3d amazin bro.. Like soo much..
Is it essential or proffessesional version of Spine here?.. Amazing work!!
작업하는데 많은 도움이 될 것 같네요 감사합니다
We all came here for one reason.
Timelapse of Spine Workflow
Hi. Awesome work!
Can you please tell, what is this window in the middle of teh screen (bit righter)? And what purposes it for?
Спасибо
DucatChannel Я там дописал чуть-чуть, обнови страницу. Смотрю твой канал, ютуб тесен. Может моё говно в скором времени тоже обозришь :D
Wow, looks like a 3D object
This is incredible...!!!! Soooooooooo impressive!!
i cant stop watching it!
awesome piece of software
Thank you for sharing!!! This is amazing!!

boobs 3d effect it's amazing!
how do you do it?
Nice animation!
Adult magic ;)
He's probably a boob expert lol ! he fondled with them long enough to know how they work.
He has layers beneath the man boob texture so that he can give it the illusion of squashing and stretching.
he is literally showing you how he is doing it
some kind of magic!
너무 멋져요! 싱기방기

Привет Hwadock Jang, можно у тебя попросить исходник этой картинки? Хочу нарисовать и анемировать в таком же стиле, но никак не разберусь с нюансами
amazing work!
Well done! I'm using Spriter for my game stuff but it's interesting to see other program workflows.
lmao dont compare a shit tier worthless things like spriter to high end software. its embarrassing

i know its 2 years late, but you could actually use both photoshop and after effects to make similar result
정신없이 빠져든다

Just can be say amazing
2:21 lol
Thanks it's great! don't you have the same video but not fastmode?
+Пётр Семашко sorry, only fastmode.
Hwadock Jang How long did it take to create it
youtube has a little settings button. use it
Great work. Very cool.
Hey. I need to do an animation in Spine. Tell me, can you do this?
were you involved in the creation of a relatively recent game on steam? :D I kinda recognized this character in the trailer^^
what game
what is that modeling part called to create roll and bone animation on the z axis and can you do that in spriter pro too? cause i dont have the money for this and already have spriter pro, thanks
How much would you normally charge for animation like this. in terms of commissions?
정말 멋지십니다 ! ㅠ 혹시 원래 속도영상은 구할수 없을까요?
Smash the Battle huh. Nice!
are the lights also animated by spine ? also i see certain things like shoulder armor and boob looks like 3d ? spine or you paint different angles ?
That's mesh deformation in action.
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!1
Why is there a giant >> symbol in the middle? It's very distracting.

Free-Form Deformation, kinda like a 3D mesh, but flat.
Wow that's fantastic !I'm a spine user, can you share the project files please? Thanks
+Enrique Canales sorry.;;
thank god! I always want to know people work with there 2d to turn 3d art really awesome and cool but I say how??? later I find you!
Love the process :)
Amazing, thank you for sharing!!!
OMG... SPINE !
amazing ... and breath taking when you look on how 2d objects acts like 3d ... those shoulder pads ... technology went too far ... look at cubism 2.1 (live2d)
Awesome work! Can you upload a full time video? for learn only T_T
+NQ Hung sorry, but i will upload next video soon~!
Awesome!
Amazing, hope you can upload more videos!
+Janusoo Thanks!
+Hwadock Jang yes, please could you make a tutorial? so hard to get a good one
Dude, amazing work!
What's the name of the backing track in the beginning?
This video is playing on loop since today afternoon just for the track.
와우! 대단합니다.
insane !
How much time did it take for Spine work only?
Amezing.I hope i will can do that one day. 😀
5:20 I had too many cookies
Which version of spine software is the one you used in 2015?
I may be five years late but what version of photoshop is that, if it even is photoshop?
is this spine essential or proessional? I kind of want to buy it but I would go for essential
proessional. I recommend buying a pro.
you cant do half the shit he did with the ess version
Super cool!!!
is that 3D is only for Spine Pro or you have interprise version??!!
only PRO
Great vid! but anyone knows the name of the second music?
스파인에 2D를 입체적으로 보이게 하는 기능이 있나요?
SO COOL!😀
amazing
How long did this take ??
How long did you work on this?
What's the song? It's so relaxing...
Darude - Sandstorm

i dont have the spine script layer to PNG. there just illustrator
Can you do a animation with Spriter?
awesome
