That wasn't a race. 350 never accelerated... Looks "promotional " to me for mach 1. I'm not hating because I love both cars... but if you want to promote the mach 1 ..... do that but a real race would be different.

@@Tactical_Taco No the motors are different. One has the flat plane crankshaft and 5.2 L and the other has the cross plane crankshaft and 5.0 L. The firing order for a Voodoo V8 is 1-5-4-8-3-7-2-6. The firing order for Coyote V8 is 1-5-4-8-6-3-7-2. The cars have different heads……want me to keep going?

As a daily, I think it is Mach 1 >> GT350.
AFAIK, the 2019+ model year fixed most of the issues with the Voodoo engine, not that it is or was bad, just a bit tempermental/exotic.
For track and prestige, GT350 >>> Mach 1.

I agree 100 percent! The GT 350R & GT 500 killed it with the body style. However I still love the GT. I really wish they would have made a stick option on the GT 500.

I feel the exact same way. No way is it going to walk on a 350 like that. I have one and it moves out. He need to maybe downshift and romp on it.
Yeah he should have been taching like 4500 + on the launch. He was probably in 4th gear with his rpms too low to compete with the 5.0. I'd have been in second. Not sure what speed they were rolling though.

Two very different cars that both have their place. Mach has great exhaust note but nothing like hearing that 5.2 revved up pulling rpm! So unique. I never been in any S550 car, I have an 03 Cobra and my dad has an 04 Mach. Both awesome cars and the GT350 and current Mach just improve the heritage.

Owned one. Won’t own another. 1 quart every 500-1000 miles. The Mach 1 is like everything about the GT350 instead of oil consumption.
I love my 2019 Bullitt, that Mach 1 is a nice looking car but it is a bit out my price range. In Canada the Mach 1 Premium MSRP is $66,900Cdn so after taxes you are looking at $77,000 on the road, $13,000 more than the on road cost of my Bullitt. So I guess I'll just have to keep my Bullitt which doesn't really break my heart.

@@gumpb5439 The Mustang sales are usually at least 2-3 times that of the Camaro and Challenger so I would say it is the most popular "muscle car", how that relates in overall car sales and general popularity I couldn't really say.

@@BC08 The engine issues of the 5.2L Voodoo were rectified in the 2019 and up model GT350s. I have 37,463 miles on my 2019 and have no issues whatsoever. But if you prefer an underpowered Coyote with a tremec for $60K then have at it.
@@mikehughes8023 The engine issues were never really rectified. The entire idea of a 5.2 liter V8 as a FPC was also more of a marketing gimmick than anything. Most FPC engines are short stroke/small displacement and they get away with relatively light crankshafts that enhance “blipability”. The Voodoo crank weighs over 50 lbs, only around 5 lbs lighter than the regular Coyote crank.
The Voodoo’s 8250 redline has no issue whatsoever being matched and exceeded by the cross-plane Coyote.
Interestingly, Ford Racing/Performance offers what’s essentially the Voodoo top end on a cross-plane 5.2 short block (5.2 XS) and it makes over 60 HP more than the Voodoo.
The Voodoo is also plagued with harmonic problems as power climbs, so Coyotes do a MUCH better job staying together with boost. THAT’s why the new GT500 went back to the cross-plane crank.
The FPC concept was an interesting footnote in Mustang history, but it didn’t resolve any issues and introduced new ones. It’s very clear that decision was driven by marketing’s desire for a unique sound not to solve any issue with the cross-plane Coyotes ability to rev.

I think the GT350 has more of a chance to become a Collector's car. The inner fight would be deciding whether to keep it stock or add a TT. One thing that bugged me: the body panels on the Mach 1 fit better than on the GT350? I detest uneven panel gaps.

Love both but I want the low end torque for a car I’ll drive 95% on the street. Also, Mach 1 you have the 10 speed as an option.
I have an fbo e85 Gen 2 coyote and I like the torque around town. Still haven’t driven a gt350 tho

What I find interesting that no one talks about, is the fact that the stock MANUAL Mach 1 on the dyno makes 460 to the wheel, while rated at 480 hp by Ford. Also, the stock GT350 makes about 460 to the wheels while Ford says it makes 526 hp... kind of interesting. Auto Mach 1 makes 410 on dyno. Fact check me if you dont believe it. Ford may just be trying to protect the Shelby name, and replacing voodoo with a non-problematic motor.
I wish Ford would have kept the GT350. Their decisions are odd!

The Shelby is so much more then the Mach 1. Shelby was designed, Mach 1 is parts put on.

Until U drive 1 U ll keep on ranting like this. I drove 1 and my view changed. Specially the Manual is superb.. the Mach1 might not be as special as GT350 but anyday felt morr special than a Bullit and GT PP2 by a country mile

The shelby is not so much more than a Mach1. I too though of it like that but after driving 1 I felt the Mach1 had way better low end torque than the Shelby giving it much better in gear pulling power, also the 5.0 revs to 7400 and thats still mighty and felt super strong between 3500-7000 rpm. The Shelby needs 4500 to start making power.
The new transmission in Mach1 is amazing.. the Shelby doesn't auto rev match and the engine actually is coarse. The 5.0 is smoother across the rev rage too.. so it has much different feeling compared with the 5.2 Voodoo.
Despite all bad mouthing I actually fell ij love with the Mach1 and is really excited to drive the handling package. The regular 1 itself felt too damn good... hope the Handling pack handles as good or better than the Shelby.
I would say the Mach 1 is more than the sum of its parts. Just wish Ford put the same 6spd from the GT350/Mach 1 in the Bullitt.
A smart but necessary move by Ford, to move on from the gt350/voodoo situation. Stick with the coyote, use a preexisting nameplate with the mach1, which btw luckily had a handling aspect from the original, and you have a replacement for the gt350/voodoo engine
The gt350 has a transmission issue right cuz it was either the gt350 or the Mach 1 I’m just researching which one is more reliable in the long run as I want the Mach 1 more… but lmk which one

The GT350 spoiler on his Mach 1 now is purchase from online. He swap the small stock spoiler out.

Watch his Hulk starting up video. He mentioned he bought that GT350 spoiler to swap the stock Mach 1 spoiler.

The GT350 was legendary 🥺
The problem with the gt350 as a normal daily weekend driver is that you have to wring it out to get to the power, it is gutless down low below like 5,000rpm, granted I'm coming from a supercharged car. The gt350 is an amazing TRACK car but on the street it is not that great at all, unless you just want to cruise around and not have any grunt.

5.0 sounds a lot better to me. They both sound amazing but the 5.0 just has that deeper sound that I love from v8s
I love the sound of the coyote, it’s a great sounding engine. However the voodoo is one of the best sounding v8’s of all time. Can’t go wrong with either!

That Mach 1 is not worth the price. 60k for a beefed up GT 5.0 is ridiculous. GT 350 all the way. I hope they bring that engine back
Does not look like they will, as production has ended, and that specialty hand assembly plant is shutting down, in December 2022, so that might be the end of the GT500, or maybe something similar will be made at Windsor plant.

Voodoo engine has a more exotic note. Coyote is more throaty but both sound great! You guys should have done a few roll races at the end.

2015-2018 GT350 < Mach 1
2019-2020 GT350 > Mach 1
Voodoo made major changes in 2019. Huge engine upgrades, better handling etc. More reliable and less engine issues than the 2015-2018 models.
You've driven them all! How does the Mach 1 feel in comparison to the PP2 as far as handling goes??

It’s a great time to be a Mustang enthusiast. So many different flavors of Mustang, Ford is literally making something for everyone… mild to absolutely wild. I’ve always loved the Bullitt as a previous Gen 1 Bullitt owner but that GT350 sounds absolutely wicked!
PLEASE PLEASE bring your $60k Mach 1 to a open track day and race other $60k cars to see how fast it is

Both cars are really nice but if I had to choose I'd go with the gt350 unless the Mach1 had the 10r80 then it makes choosing more difficult. I'd definitely rather have the auto if I was gonna make some serious HP.

Man, I really admire how far you've come brother, congratulations man! Love the updates you've done to the Mach1, the wheels with a new wang looks much better. I personally like the Coyote much better than the Voodoo, more reliable, and cheaper if you blow it up. The Voodoo engine is way overpriced in my opinion. Especially when you put a Supercharger or Turbo on them, they both kickout about the same numbers from all the videos I've seen with pretty much the same mods. I do like the look of the GT350 much better though. Just wish Ford had put the GT350 big brakes on the Mach1.

There are electric vehicles that are light speed and drive you from point A to point B and there are V8, V6, Flat 6, inline-6 that goes from point A to point Z. It’s the sound, the gas, the oil that gives me instant pleasure along with a clutch.
Mach + Handling = perfect.
Unfortunately the maximum top speed of this car is 168 MPH... GT500 went 182 MPH... 14 MPH slower...

The Mach 1 looks generic compared to the shelby gt350.
I put it on a GT350 a few days ago. Stock Coyote res delete only. Absolutely beautiful rides. It'd be great to meet you and just talk cars and hit a few runs. You seem cooler than ice water. Love the cold scheme on both. Historical badges on both

The oil consumption on the GT350 scares me. My 2019 Vette & F250 have not used a drop of oil between oil changes.
The wider front fenders with side vents and wider front track of 350 is a plus and such a bad ass look as well as the different rotors and the bigger calipers in the rear of the 350 also a plus. To be honest the Mach 1 seems like a parts catalog car put together but that 10 speed is a huge advantage and convenience for added comfort of get in and go. prefer the Voodoo 5.2 sounds and crazy high rpm limit
If there was a not so difficult way of putting a 10speed in a 350 With the regular Bucket seats not Recaros just to get the heated and cooled seats it be comfortable and feel more refined I really think I’d be the far superior car even more than it already is
i like both. whats the curb weight on the mach 1? cant find it anywhere. i'd choose the shelby but since no dealer is budging on mark ups, i'll be looking at the mach 1 with summer.
C8 corvette and hellcat pull up next to my Shelby 350r. Once these cars heard mine they got behind me to listen. Ive seen 9 C8s hundreds of hellcats not one 350R in my area. That's special and cool.

I would love to see a supercharger on that Mach1, Nothing too heavy stage1 would give it some kick!, Bit more power but over all the Mach1 is a beautiful Mustang.....at lease the StangMode edition LOL.
Hope Ford Performance can throw that GT500's 5.2 Liter Supercharged V8 on the Mach 1 if they can do Mach 1 R...

The front brakes are not the same. The Mach 1 has regular performance pack brakes just painted a new color.
I missed something when did you change out the rear spoiler on the Mach
So if this is the Mach 1 that folks are entering to win, why are they out hot rodding in it, most folks try to stay away from cars that have been dogged out and then at the end he's talking about taking it to the drag strip...doesn't seem fair for who ever wins it, because if they win it and then something major breaks the new owner has to pay the bill for repairs
Wish the Mach 1 came with the vented front quarter panel of the GT 350. I have a 2016 GT350.

Anybody who says the GT350 is slower than the Mach 1 needs to drive one. They beat 10 speed 5.0’s pretty easily. 20 horsepower wouldn’t make the difference.

Before I even watch I think the Mach 1 wins, I know it sounds better. Coyote sounds so good. After watching I’d personally take the Mach 1. Looks better IMO, not sure an actual race happened, but I believe it’s faster also. Great video 👍🏼

Obviously the gt350 is the superior car. However the coyote is far from bad. The regular mustang gt is a great car and has a lot of potential! For the money, you can’t go wrong with a regular gt or Mach 1. But if you can afford it comfortably, get the gt350.
