The wooden structure at 29:02 is there so there is less light leak in the first dark ride sequence. So it helps that transition to darkness without having a door or something
One thing I felt when I rode it in California is the complete lack of classic Disney charm. That was one of my favorite feelings I got from Splash Mountain and Tiana’s feels like a constant gimmick to sell merchandise (also the OG music of Splash really helped with that feeling, with all the classic Disney orchestral music).
The jarring transition at 39:15 between what we have now and what they destroyed is so disheartening. Truly a failure by Disney's part. Tiana's will attract a lot of new people to do it once, realize there's no villain/story and not ride again. Splash was the ideal ride for lapping. Can't say the same about this one.
Ive been to disneland countless times, and have honestly gotten bored with just about everything, except i still like the trian and the dark rides and of course splash mountain. It really was the perfect ride. The build up from the moment you hear the owl mysteriously hooting going the seond lift hill, to the progressively darker theming during the ride, till the big drop and of course the perfect ending with the perfect music. The ride hit so many feelings and emotions, you can tell alot of thought was put into this ride by very talented Imagineers disney used to have.
Bayou Country does sound a bit tacked on especially since its only a small part of the land, like Critter country was never the most cohesively themed area, but its name was generic enough to still fit, Bayou Country on the other hand doesn't have that benefit. Not a good sign if the biggest improvement from Florida is thst the ride is smaller and therefore has less deadspace between the show scenes lmao. I get these animatronics were really expensive, but the florida version could have added something to make the bayou more lively, right? Also maybe I'm stupid but whats so special about the salt mine thing historically?
It was a good ride with current animatronics and effects…but I still think Splash is way too iconic to be replaced. They were better off building another ride for Tiana somewhere else.
Your videos are awesome! As a Disney fan, especially a Disney ride fan, I think you deserve way more views. I’ve only ridden the WDW version of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (or ‘Former Splash’ as I like to call it). It was fun the first time, but the second time it just felt okay, and honestly, I’m not in a rush to ride it again. It will never be as great as Splash Mountain, which I always wanted to ride, miss deeply, and will always feel hurt that it’s gone forever (except in Tokyo for now). Keep up the great work! 💦⛰️
Is it just me, or does the story for this ride reminds me of that one mission in Super Mario Odyssey where you have to find Mayor Pauline's band members.
All the figures looks like they have plastic skin Usually Disney adds a silicone skin and masks but didn’t and it’s shows The whole ride looks cheap and Disney should know by now taking shortcuts is not a good thing They should of planned it well and had a better story RIP ones of disneys classic and best thrill ride splash mountain You will be missed
I think the reason they danced around the whole Salt mine thing is because slaves used to work in real salt mines and guessing with how they gaslit people into thinking Splash Mountain was controversial, my guess is they wanted to future proof Tiana by not putting too much attention into it. Also i believe Splash's music is 100% better nostalgia aside, all the music weves into the story (even more so than Tiana's), and there's more variaty in the mood, and Tiana's does not have an answer to Burrow's Lament. So Splash wins there
Disney could’ve gotten it done by September but they wanted to work out the technical problems so it would be better than floridas another level which barely worked
Splash is just miles better- I've done Splash 100+ times and Tiana's about 20 times. Splash was so reridable and you got different snippets of music each time, but Tiana's is already getting boring. I don't want to hear anyone saying the animatronics are better when they aren't working half of the time. At least Splashes were consistent! Great video though, very in depth and I agree!!
Just rode it yesterday, far better than Disneyland's Splash Mountain ever was. People need to stop making videos like this for likes. Splash Mountain closed 20 months ago. It's time to move on
People can make whatever they want, nobody is forcing you too click. Why you care if people like splash more and think Tianas ride is a massive downgrade, which it is!!
I got an ad for this ride before the video started lmao
me too
Stoked for a new video! Great content as always dude, thank you!
it’s better than the florida one, but not better than splash 😂

You deserve a much bigger viewership. Soon as I saw this I clicked. You're whitelisted on my ad block, keep it up!

It’s definitely better than the Florida one but still not as good as splash
at least the animatronics are better
closing the ride early every day is so annoying lmao. but I think it’s because all the animatronics keep breaking

Splash mountain is still in Japan 😅

"Splash Bayou" would have also worked a lot better than the name they gave it
