  • Colin Clive "discusses" why he hates Horror Films:
The "voice" is a creation of AI voice cloning using a sound file
    of Mr. Clive's actual voice.
The text quoted is drawn from an interview with Colin Clive
entitled "I Hate Horror Films" published in the August 10, 1935 issue
    of Film Weekly magazine.

It takes a lot of talent to be able to play a role reluctantly!!!!!!!!!
A big thank you to this actor who agreed to do it, because adults have remained children, and they love to be scared!!!!!!!!! Horror films are children's "big bad wolf" for us.
Thank you very much for this testimony!!!!!!!!!

Colin Clive got his wish to live long enough to outlive horror films. The genre faded for a few years in the mid-30s and he made a few excellent films such as History is Made at Night (1937). But he died the same year.

Colin Clive was born in 1900, not 1898.

Sources differ so I opted for the earlier year. Perhaps the issue can be settled if his birth certificate is found.
