Only been to a pawn shop a few times in my lifetime. Once I took in a 3/8 Snap on impact. New in box with the receipt. It was 375 for it. Went to 3 different pawn shops. They all offered me 40-60. That’s BS. I see 150. These tools always sold no problem. I wish I knew why pawn shops offered me so low. All of these pawn shops sold these new impacts for 300 easy.

you’ll always make more selling your items independently. i’ve always seen pawn shops as the LAST resort because im in a bind of just want to get SOMETHING for it. i also try not to concern myself with what they flip the items for because it will make me sick lol

They pay as little as possible, but again no one is forcing you to pawn/sell to them. If you are not happy then simply walk away.

I usually see about 30% going price on the secondary market at that time, kind of an art to nailing down a price.
i assume paying out anything more would be hard for the business to digest.

Was curiously looking thru YT here for 💩 & 🤣 of others’ nightmares pertaining to YOUR specific sitch’, as I too have fallen victim of this never-ending loop of pure $ frustration cycle, HIGHLY REGRETTABLY! Not sure of your exact sitch’ but for me, having been directly affected by the damned pandemic, found myself in dyer need of IMMEDIATE cash, for of course, stupid ass BILLS that were rapidly piling up, as I was patiently waiting for them pandemic relief funds to kick in! Ended up getting a Pawn Shop LOAN from the most valuable portion of my vintage, antique &/or, RARE film camera collection… loan for $3000.00 so you can imagine the actual values of them cameras. Has been costing me nearly $800 once every 4 months IN INTEREST to “renew” this loan!!!! 🤬🤯

Depends on the owner if they are family business oriented or greedy self-interest minded... The former would give you a fair 30%-50% of face value on average and the latter closer to 10%-20% face value...

    Camera $500
    70% = $350
    50% = $250
that means pawn shop's profit is around $150 to $250 if they sell it for $500. No customer in their right mind would pay that much for a product at a pawn shop. If I m going to pay $500 I rather go to store and buy new. I only pay 50% on a product at a pawn shop if said is in good shape/condition. A pawn shop will not give you this high percentages on your item as you claim. I've seen it first hand. Pawn shops should stick to making loans and making money on interest. They be asking more than what an items retails for and item is all beat up.😅😅

Not really a lot of items brought in are straight trash the most profit is people paying interest to keep their items in loan
