Eric grew up across the street from me and set on his porch and played until dark. Use to go by and tell him "keep playin Eric, sound great"!! He would rely"thanks Rich" Now he is absolutely amazing!!!
I agree, both are brilliant players with different styles. For Blues players, check out Virgil and the Accelerators (unbelievable), Davy Knowles, Walter Trout (live Trout), Jay Jesse Johnson, Lance Lopez, and Blindside Blues Band.
WOW! What a phenomenal & skilled guitar player STECKEL is! I'm already learning from his guitar sounds and style... Stay off the drugs my man! You're it!
While I don’t agree, I do worry he is going down the Joe Bonamassa road of prioritizing technical chops over feel and phrasing (soul). I’ve been watching him since he was 15/16 and he has definitely evolved but I’m not sure I enjoy his latest songs as much as some of his earlier stuff. Playing the hell out of a guitar seems to be a lot easier than writing memorable songs/melodies/hooks. Lots of examples out there of folks that can shred but you’ll never remember any of their songs. I often wonder if guys with this level of chops would benefit from being lead guitar in a band with a strong singer and solid song writers. Look at Slash as an example.

Guitar right out front where it should be, great tone, energetic playing.....excellent!!!!!
Some of the best playing I ever heard !!!!!!!
Eric is a straight up six string assassin blowing the minds of the unsuspecting masses.
He is getting better and better, fast becoming one of the best blues guitarists in the world
I've seen him live at the age of 15 , he was great already , but indeed he's getting better and better.
Absolutely stunning. lightning fast and tasteful.
Eric reminds me so much of Gary Moore in alot of ways but......he definately has his own style. One of my new faves.

He looks like a cross between Steven Tyler and Chewbacca
Sieht aus wie der Sohn von Barry Gibb und Gil Ofarim macht aber feel bessere Musik !!
He plays fast and loud but his music didnt touch me... no soul in his music.
