if they're burning, right click does double damage. so long distance, if theyre on fire use right, if not on fire, use left. simple. also critial gives you health. So right click can heal you.

the reason you want to switch inbetween the left and right click is left click once you trigger burning doesnt do anything extra proc wise so once you get it up you can switch over to right click and get crits even on body shots, infact if you are good at landing headshots with his left click there isnt a direct reason to switch. but because of distance you needs to be obserdly good at tracking to the point so at certain distance the easy body shot crits will probably be the better damage option and the body shot crits also lets you do lots more damage to things that cant be crit hit normally(ball is a good example).

Questron, your chat is unable to explain shooting both guns at different times to you so here its really simple. The left gun will set people on fire, of course. So you start shooting long range with the left. Your accuracy decreases drastically if you shoot both at long range. So, that being said, after the burn effect starts, you can stop shooting with the left, and start *shooting with the right* That is the use case. After proccing the fire with the left. Youre meant to switch between the two in order to maximize damage. I was getting so frustrated watching your chat not give you a concise and understandable answer rather than a few words that explain nothing.
You use the incendiary ammo just to burn them, and switch to the regular ammo which will do crit damage as they burn. Regular bullets won’t crit if the enemy is not on fire.
I didn’t actually play Mauga. Instead I tried to figure out how to play against him. An annoying interaction with his ult is that anyone can walk in to the ult, but you can’t throw bob in to it. I figured that would be a sick counter ult to throw a 1000 hp turret in his ult, but bob gets caught on the shield. If you think of bob as a turret, it makes sense, but he counts as a player on objectives so I just assumed he would be able to walk through the barrier like a person too. I lost a game because of that, but now I know.

My take is lower his damage falloff when firing one weapon, so that he can do better during the mid-fight with poke. Then see how he goes. Right now he's on the weaker side, he just has favourable matchups into two meta heroes in Doomfist and Orisa
His damage starts falling at 25m, he already has the most consistent long range damage between all tanks in the game. lol It still will do nothing against squishies being healed considering the slight spread, but still more than the close to 0 damage that almost every tank in the game can do at that range.

Mauga's charge isn't that great with his current kit because he wastes all his cc immunity actually getting to the target and the charge itself isn't good damage. If he could poke during the mid fight and save charge for cleanup, it would be better
You would prioritise volatile chaingun at long ranges, whenever a teammate ashe hits an enemy with her firebomb, and you’re not close enough to double burst them effectively. Very situational, they should add burning to other attacks tbf. They just keep coming up with new mechanics/status effects, then forgetting about them.
You know you don’t have to hit them with both to burn them right? You use left click at range, then when they’re on fire, switch to right click. If they’re close range, use both. It’s a simple but well thought out gameplay loop.

He is enormous with a huge head hitbox and no sustain abilities, his guns basically don't function on any character that isn't bastion or the other tank thanks to the enormous spread and how slow he is while firing makes easy af to just avoid. His movement skill is alright but if you get focus fired at all while repositioning you just die. I felt like he was super easy to kill so much so that I could almost 1v1 as a DPS bc thats how ineffectual his primary and secondary are. His ult is cool af and actually offers some cool decision making, like do I go in to heal or do I just let them fend for themselves
He literally reduces damage and heals himself during the same ability. That's actually sustain. And it's buffed with Grenade or Damage buffs. His ult also is a barrier to keep damage out too. He has sustain for sure.
If blizzard hard nerf supports like they’re planning to they will have to rework this guys damage like hamster orisa and rein having a baby and feeding it chicken and raw eggs for 20 years

Wrong. You alternate between left and right click to gain the guaranteed critical shots which combine with Mauga’s passive to gain you Overhealth
