Club mgr in Providence once told me he thought they were a good house band. That was puzzling. These guys were great, had to go every time they came around. 2 of the 3 rock on today with original music as 7Horse.
Sadly I concur with your statement and i often or at least when i listen to these guys or even tell people about their music that same thing comes up and I can’t stop to wonder why they didn’t make it . Disneyland fucked’em up somehow but in my eyes since I first heard their jams I instantly favored them as do i now even up to this moment!
You have impeccable taste my friend. I was young in the 90's and its sad young folks now don't seem to 'get' music... I mean actual music. Rock on. (Popular)Music died in the 2000's.
One of very few friends that I acquired while living in Chicago (85-90) put this on three tapes he composed for me. I am not a drummer, just another soul that appreciates good and unique fucken music ! Mike R.I.P. I miss you bro ! Thanks for the memories !
Another cool song on this album. I didn't like the album very much when it came out, but it has aged well in my opinion. Great lyrics throughout the album. " Like a mime with a megaphone, snow coming down in summer, Dr. King with a sub-machine, like rock and roll and Bob."
What Spotify money? ;-). The label that currently owns this album has not distributed it digitally. That's really all there is to it. Find out which label, and dada fans can pressure them to release it. Until then, it's RUclips or your CD copy.
i wish i could see this band ... i found a cd in a pawn shop in south mississippi and loved it ... a great little find i jam to the band all the time found the cd in 2005
They still get together periodically. Alas they haven't put out a true album since 2004, which was really more outtakes. But they did put out a nice ep and several singles over the years since then, most recently in 2017.
@carmel1119 couldn't have put it any better. Poetry in musical motion. I've always felt kind of sorry for Bob, hoping someday he'll get another gig, but deep down, knowing that probably isn't going to happen, ...the hope is still there. I, too, once had a '69 Slingerland. Thanks for listening!

totally under rated in my opinion, love them
My dad and brothers (musicians) made the best drummer jokes. Why is Dada not recognized more
soundtrack of my youth... and I'm happier for it.
This is one of the best albums of my fifty years.
This is one of the heaviest songs I know. I gauge how old I am on any given day on whether I can still hit the chorus.
Touring in 2024
They ARE huge, it's the record industry that got small.
The best band that never "made it"--hands down.

Yes; great love ❤️, sweets alrighty now… Roy Buchanan would have loved this… The Master of the Telecaster!
They did make it.I watched them open for sting..they smoked him.
1,000% AGREED
Amazing band that somehow flew under the radar. Their fans are pretty dedicated.
Very
"...oh how time flies". Summer of 96. I remember it like it was last year.
Best band you never heard of...period
This is like the coolest song ever! It blows my mind how dada never got huge... My favorite band.
Best band of the '90's hands down. Thought that then, and think it now.
I concur. My favorite band of ALL TIME!
So good and so sadly underrated band .
One of my favorite songs ever I’m only 15 and I know this is a song I’ll listen to the rest of my life

Go see them on tour this summer.

claude hendry best and probably the only way to find one now. Other than buying off eBay or something, my friend got a so-so copy from amazon.
I saw them 4 times in 2017 on their 25th Anniversary Tour. Thrice in LA area & once in Memphis. Hoping for a 30th Anniversary Tour in 2022.

OMG this brings back memories ❤️❤️❤️ thanks for sharing!!
This was on a Yahoo compilation back in the day and I loved it.

Randy Gates I have 2 others, just haven’t had the time. I will, just when. There’s much more.

See I'm tryin' to start this rock band
And my drummer really needed a kit
He's really into Bonham and Ozzy
You know he really likes to hit
So we spent our days lookin' at drum ads
'Cause neither one of us had a job
We circles this one cool offer
'Cheap drums ask for Bob'
So we jumped into my Pinto
And we flew over to his place
We ran up the stairs and knocked on the door
Enter Robert's face
Now ol' Bob was a drummer
He lived with his kit in Glendale
Weddings and bar mitzvahs
He'd do any gig for half-scale
With his five-piece '69 Slingerland
Silver two-tone glitter
He played her skins like a gentleman
He didn't like to hit her
Like a mime with a megaphone
Like snow comin' down in summer
Like Dr. King with a submachine
Like rock 'n' roll and Bob...
Bob the drummer
Now he fixed us both some coffee
He let me play his snare
He lied about the good old days
And how he ended up here
We let him go on for hours
Talkin' 'bout one-night stands
He said you gotta pay your dues son
I said I think I understand
He didn't give a crap about the Grateful Dead
Sabbath or Pink Floyd
But when he got down behind that set
Old Bob could make some noise
Chorus
We wondered where the time went
And did I still wanna buy some drums?
My throat went dry and I felt kinda sick
When I offered him two hundred ones
He said he guessed he wasn't ready to sell her
You never know when there might be a gig
He shot me his best Mona Lisa
And took the last drag off his cig
With his Mr. Rogers sweater
And his velvet Elvis eyes
He stared into oblivion and said
Oh how time flies
Chorus
Repeat
Wing Walker thanks. I think this was the only song, or one of them I didn’t have the lyrics for to put in the description. I appreciate it highly.
Thank you for posting the lyrics. This song reminds me of me and my husband and I'd give anything to go back to this
Carolann Lawyer “oh how time flies”.....
No comma in the title - it's: Bob the Drummer
Maybe they should have choosen less cheesy album covers, many potential buyers thought this was a band of crooners.
You got a few words wrong Wing walker.
