I ACTUALLY LOVE 1974-1976 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL MARK IV'S MUCH BETTER THAN 1977-1979 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL MARK V'S ALTHOUGH I LIKE THE 77- 79 LINCOLN'S TOO
This car and the Cadillac Eldorado were THE personal luxury land yachts of that era. However, the Mark IV had the lines. And, if you look closely, you can see traces of the Mark II in this model design. Shame we don't have cars like this today. I am sure with the current technology in engines and transmissions a car like this could be made that would meet emissions and CAFE standards.
Ride; SMOOTH AS SILK. POWER WAS ALSO THERE JUST FOR THE ASKING. Many times the driver had to look at speedometer, for many times you be driving faster than you thought. NOT IN MANY CARS TODAY.
...a superbly conserved, preserved and maintained 1976 Continental IV...extremely nice looking exterior color and interior two tone detailing ...tho this body was introduced in 1971 with much the more integrated non 5 mph impact front and rear bumper styling these 1974 thru 1976 Marks looked ok with the tail lamps nicely styled to soften the bigger rear bumper...much better looking than much of what Ford was selling post 1972 ...Chrysler did the 5 mph bumpers the best post 1972 ( see 1974 - 1978 Imperials and New Yorkers ) ...these Marks also had a more intricately detailed interior than the 1977 - 1979 Marks with rear windows that opened, additional rear seat area light controls and a center armrest in back seat ...the 1977 - 1979 Mark V's lost these features and seemed more like gussied up Ford LTD's ....the 1974 - 1976 Continental Mark IV's had much more interior and rear deck styling panache than the 1977 - 1979 Mark V's ...
Lincoln as i see has a very long front, and a strange cricle at the bag like a wheel place. It is a feature of Lincoln as i see. First time to see thise kind of cars. My fav is Cadillac Deville and Fleetwood.
Actually not true. It is the second best selling Lincoln series of all time. Only the Mark V that followed it outsold it. Nothing before or since made by Lincoln had sold as well as those two cars.
ed develo Remember the "KING OF THE HILL" contest some automotive magazines used to have between the Continental Mark III & CADILLAC ELDORADO. Til late '70s?
im about to buy a linc mark4 for 1400.-im in Toronto pntario Canada.i have owned a 1957 premiere coupe-1965 continental-1966 and 1967-and 1978 towncoupe
So sad, passing all the FOREIGN car dealers that took over after the oil crunch... Frankly, though this car is very elegant, it's just not BIG ENOUGH!!! Give me the Town Coupe' with room for 8 friendly people and all their luggage in the deep-well trunk! LOL
I am a women and car nut . I own 4 1976 Continental Mark IVs all lipstick edition . I agree the inside of the Mark IVs are not big . Just the way I want it. I consider the car a 2 passenger .A huge 2 person car . I LOVE the Mark IVs . I have a 1996 LINCOLN TOWN CAR I consider it the best Car I have ever owned ,and we have 2 FERRARIs . I love the looks of the FERRARIs but there are downfalls in owning them .
Thats Junk, I can see all the bondo thru the triclad paint, they used a roller and paint brush to hide all the holes also patched up with plywood on the floor and wood screws to hold it
John, you seriously need to be punched in the face!! You make the exact same damn comment on other Lincoln Continental videos. I have seen this exact comment copy and pasted by you on other videos! You're just a jealous hater!
People used to say Duesenbergs were too big and should be crushed .Some were crushed .and that is a darn shame .Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I love these cars I own 4 1976 Continental Mark IVs also have 2 Ferraris and a few more cars Learn to love all cars . Car people are GREAT
Few things are as majestic as a well appointed Mark IV
Oh My GOD!! The interior and dash of this car is the most Drop-Dead-GORGEOUS I have ever seen or imagined!!

Real personal luxury back in the day I mean luxury
...And kids I knew in school claimed that it was a pimpmobile!
Nothing, absolutely nothing rides as quiet and smooth and effortlessly as a MARK IV. Not a III or a V!! Nothing is like the IV.
Nothing!!!
Absolutely gorgeous!

Why do people down Ford-Mercury-Lincoln cars? Must be those G.M. owners. This car is magnificent and still has great quality. Fulk you G.M.

Better put some oil on those hood hinges---My 73 Marguis bad hinge bent my hood--That car is too good looking for that to happen.
VERY NICE)))))))))))))))
Mercy, what a baby doll car! Those hoods run long. Is that the 460 engine?
Steve Holsten 460cid 4v.
Not a hot seller when it was made during the so-called gas shortage but a classic beast

THEY SOLD LIKE CRAZY!!! LOL
Were Lincoln Continentals ever made in RHD form?
Yes I saw a Continental Mark IV on the internet that was factory RHD search you should find it .
Basil II Macedonia. What is rhd form
@@bohemialite6371 Right hand drive
cushy quiet cruiser, the curb weight with the 460 engine was 5100 pounds. Plus you can land a helicopter on the hood.
Yes, but we have to be fair....... You could play TENNIS on the hood of a comparable Eldorado (even if you couldn't actually LIFT the hood!)
