I love your music, Tuba Skinny! You are all wonderful musicians! Every day I listen and enjoy watching your performances! Well-being to all of you and creative success! With love from Russia...
Dude goin ham on that washboard lol and I didn't even know clarinets could even get that high. Love this, makes me want to pick my trumpet back up again. Haven't played in almost 2 years......
Fascinating video from the band's 2015 western tour. Shaye, standing, deals artfully with surprises. Robin's solo is exceptional, and the recording sound is great. While the band here is slightly diminished in size, it delivers a crackling performance of this classic tune associated with Bix.
'San', given their own very special treatment in the key of A flat, with valve-oiling and friend-greeting doing nothing to interrupt the merry performance! Great to see how Shaye could keep things going with a simple tap on the head at 01:59 to direct them to re-play the Verse instead of the Chorus, while she finished fixing her cornet! 'San' was composed in 1920 by Lindsay McPhail and Walter Hirsch (aka Walter Michels). It was a very popular song in vaudeville. The main early recording was by The Benson Orchestra. A Pee Wee Hunt recording of this song sold a million in 1953. Interesting that Tuba Skinny these days play the piece in A flat and include the Verse. There is a video of them from the Loose Marbles days in which they played it in F and without the Verse: ruclips.net/video/XJ6gwG6bjgQ/видео.html
Correct, Dennis. Among others who recorded it in the early days were Ted Lewis and His Band, The Georgia Melodians, Alex Hyde's New York Jazz Orchestra, The Ballyhooligans, Nathan Glantz, The Alabama Red Peppers and The Benson Orchestra of Chicago.
Just love Skinny Tuba ,always makes me feel happy ..

Wie der Hund sich genüsslich hinlegt als die Musik beginnt, einfach schön. Dann die Begrüßung eines Bekannten, toll. Die Musik ist einfach klasse.

How the dog lies down with relish when the music begins, simply beautiful. Then the greeting of a friend, great. The music is just great.

That dawg really needs to relax more. And the kid on the skateboard is straight outta Porgy and Bess!
Shaye ist so süß wenn sie lacht.
Jesus
Did Shaye change a valve on her horn mid song and come back in right on time?
I think it was sticking a little bit, so she oiled it, then got back to it
and three sleeping dogs !!!
And a child on a skate board.
First time I heard this was by the Paul Whiteman Orch.
