    Salaam, Jazakallah khair for the video. I have a question. The spring range of pzv should cover both cdtp & set pressure or not? And is there a condition that cdtp and/or set pressure should not be close to the spring low and max values?

    A humble suggestion watch 1.5x 😊

    Why back pressure compensation is not part of CDTP calculation in case of balance bellows and pilot PSV?

  • @hareem0305
    @hareem0305 2 года назад

    In general , wherever you have built-up back pressure or superimposed backpressure, only bellows type valves are used/recommended.

      As a rule of thumb, up till allowable backpressure of 10% Conventional relief valves are preferred, Up till 50% Bellow type is preferred, and above 50% Pilot relief valve is preferred

      @@AsadPassionateEngineer hi, thanks for your reply.
      Note that , as per API 520 part I, even Pilot operated PRVs may require CDTP if used in high temperature service. In the video it is said that CDTP only applicable to Conventional PRVs

      @@hareem0305 my dear brother thanks for your comment . I am so happy to know that you have read API standard. Very few engineers take out the time to read the standard. With reads to your query . PLS watch the video careful it is said "THE BACKPRESSURE COMPONENT OF CDTP IS NOT APPLICABLE FOR BELLOWS OR PILOT OPERATED RELEIF VALVES" .
      And you can verify with any psv expert that backpressure effects are on conventional releif valves .
      So the videos states that temperature compensation part is applicable if temperature difference between ambient and plant is significant. However backpressure compensation of CDTP is only applicable to conventional releif valves .
      Also, If you have more queries or I have not been able to convey my point properly then you can contact me on www.Asad-Shaikh.com.
      I always enjoy technical discussions

      @@AsadPassionateEngineer i just looped back the video to recheck that statement, you are right Asad, it mentions only about backpressure component. I am involved in Engineering as well as Commissioning in I&C Oil n Gas. So not only i have to read API, IEC , i have to implement them too during execution 😀. Cheers !

    What is the Design basis for setting a set pressure ( value)?

    • @AsadPassionateEngineer
      @AsadPassionateEngineer  2 года назад

      API 520 stand helps in deciding this.
      The process engineers have to consider the worst cases, relief capacity etc 😊
