- Kinmen Island was so much fun! The people there are so friendly, much like the rest of Taiwan. They’re probably the friendliest country I’ve visited in Asia. This was even more so since it was a small rural island. I was there for two nights and three days, and the whole time was incredibly relaxing. It’s very affordable to go there as the cost of food and transportation is really cheap. Of course it helps that my friend drove me around and let me stay in his families Airbnb for free, but the taxis and public transportation is really cheap and many people rent motorbikes when they go there. If you are planning a trip to Kinmen Island, I hope you video was helpful for you.

Kinmen, alternatively known as Quemoy, is a county governed by the Republic of China based on Taiwan, with its location sitting alongside southeastern coast of mainland China. It lies roughly 10 km (6.2 mi) east off the Fujian city of Xiamen, separated by Xiamen Bay. In contrast, Kinmen is located 187 km (116 mi) west from the shoreline of the island of Taiwan across the Taiwan Strait.

You know Jinmen isn't actually in Taiwan right? It's in Fujian province. It's administered by the same government as Taiwan, but the name Taiwan refers to the main island.
Yep, but most foreigners still refer to it as Taiwan since they don’t know the real name is Republic of China. 🤗
Also, if you watched the whole video, I did go to Taiwan/Taipei, so that’s why the title says that. I spent three days in Taipei and three days in Jinmen.
@@EmilyPetersenHomemaking - that's correct. The rest of Fujian was conquered by the Kungchantang in 1949 and has been part of the PRC since. Same with Zhejiang when the ROC held the islands until 1955.

mia k I considered it, but the weather is too hot for me. Korea barely gets winter as it is and I really miss the cold and snow from my hometown in the US.

Jinmen is a small island. 😊 It is very rural.
