The gender of baby Mondika ( female ) was announced on Facebook Aug 15, 2014.

Why does Asha nervously move around like that? She appears frustrated or nervous. Is it being a new/first time mommy? Amazing how tiny the babies are at birth. Mom's hand swallows entire baby's body. Lots of growing to do here on out. Very nice. Wish you guys did a 24 hr cam of them. I'd love watching their bonding.

It's so amazing the babies are the size of human newborns and the mother's are HUGE but so gentle, I bet they could actually care for a human newborn other then not yanking them by the arms they pretty much are as careful as we are with our newborns.
A gorilla couldn't look after a human baby. Gorilla babies are born with a powerful grip in both their hands and feet and can cling tight onto their mother's fur from the moment they are born. Although a gorilla mother could show tenderness and love to a human baby, the human baby would fall off as soon as the gorilla mother put the human baby on her back to walk around. The Gorilla mom would expect the baby to hang on tight, something a human baby cannot do.
