Least they try and convict in Israel of crimes, in other places they celebrate people who commit acts of violence or break the law. Israel is and always will be a democracy leading the way for others to follow when they are ready. Let's all note how Egypt and any other country that doesn't sponsor and embolden terror, never gets on Israel's radar, EVER.

A story ran in a newspaper about the legality of a restaurant only publishing the menu in Chinese outside the shop. After about a week the restaurant added another menu.
A market trader decided that Chinese would be a good language to use.
Many copper mines became Chinese owned.
There are questions about what goes on behind the gate guarded by a surly man with a wooden rifle. I doubt if he knows.

In the US almost everyone supports nuclear power but almost nobody wants a nuclear power plant near them so it is almost impossible to build new ones.
In China, they are a dictatorship so nobody gets a say in whether or not there is a nuclear power plant near them so they have no problem building new ones.

I lived near a nuclear power plant for 20 years (Surry power plant in VA) and since moved into the western part of the state when I met my now wife. I didn't even notice it except for the monthly siren tests. I'd have no problem living near one today. I wish people could see they're not dangerous, and to educate themselves on nuclear energy

    • @LackofFaithify
      @LackofFaithify 4 дня назад +16

It has nothing to do with the location. It's the other far more lucrative energy guys that have all the lobby power and can offer investors fast and massive returns on their investment. Nuclear plants are a long runway investment. They also are insanely long and predictable in their returns. Not that those investments are seen as having any value in the US anymore. I would rather live up against the fence of a nuclear power plant than even several miles away from any of our wonderful fossil fuel power plants. As long as lobbyists don't bribe anyone to change the safety rules of course. You can count on 2 hands the number of deaths caused by the US nuclear power industry since the very start. And that includes the few tragic ones of scientists before we knew exactly how some things worked. Air pollution from the current kingpins? You'll need a few thousand more hands. Per year. It is all a matter of money and who has it and can bribe those in the right places to ensure their ludicrously unfair advantage is maintained.

Great work but I'm always disappointed when nothing is mentioned with regards to the South China SEA esp with what happened last week. There is a higher chance that the USA actually gets boots (and boats) on the ground (and waters) there as the Philippines is an actual treaty ally of the USA. It's been criminally under reported not just by you but by almost every other media especially considering the ramifications are a lot more important that whatever is happening in Western Asia or Europe. I don't want to diminish conflicts in Ukraine and Israel, but if these gets coverage then the Philippines should be front and center as the formal treaty between the USA and the Philippines, a country of 110M, elevates it just a little bit.

Anytime I talk to someone who is against Nuclear in the US, I always get the same shit. “Three Mile Island”. Which is annoying because TMI was a PR disaster not a Nuclear one. But because of the PR and how the information was dealt with people believe it to have been a major disaster. TMI had the biggest effect on the reduction of support for Nuclear power in the US. I cant even bring it up with my grandparents because they refuse to believe that it was anything other than a nuclear disaster.
Then when you compare the amount of incidents to total reactors world wide you see how safe it can be. TMI wasnt a “disaster”, Fukushima was due to earthquakes and tsunami and not the plant itself, and Chernobyl was operator error coupled with design flaws.
Modern reactors are/can be built with a lot more automation in regard to safety and requirer more and higher degree regular safety checks. Its a shame that 2 major incidents and 1 PR issue out of the hundreds that have operated (there are around 440 current active worldwide not accounting for ones previous built since 1957 and since decommissioned) resulted in a reduction of faith from the public.
Yet we still trust planes, trains, and cars.
Yet we still trust wind which has killed 150 globally (more than Chernobyl)
Yet we still trust hydro which has an estimated annual death count of 150k from direct and indirect result of the stations effects.

It's funny how most of the people complaining about what Israel and Netanyahu are doing, haven't offered any other ideas or solutions for how they should deal with Gaza. Then the few that do, have no regard or idea for what it's like to live in a small country, shared and surrounded by those who hate you and don't believe you should exist. Imagine having to deal with that for over 76 years, and be told that you have to be okay with it because youre not allowed to deal with them.

@@ChineseKiwi Chernobyl happened because of human failure. The design of the reactor was crude but human failure inspired by bureaucratic stupidity caused the accident. Trust Chinese leadership?

@@jeremiahmitchell6420 The human failure at the root of the Chernobyl disaster was not the one committed on the day of the test, it was the one that oversaw approval of the design. The Soviets knew that the reactor had a positive void coefficient of reactivity. They knew that was stupid and dangerous. After the disaster, every reactor in the USSR was altered to change that. No reactor in the US ever had that because we knew better. I believe that China knows better too.

You know as a Salvadoran I’ve never seen my country be mentioned so much ever, not when the gangs weren’t following ”human rights” and slaughtered people every night, there’s want media attention on that. There was no funding or help. Yet now that it’s behind El Salvador , El Salvador is wrong for imprisoning gang members 🤔 shocking really where people stand in this world

I am a former and retired US Army special operator. Your clear "bend" on your presentation of the killing of 270 civilian? people is nauseating, followed up by "only 4 hostages were rescued" . It's like this tough guy, THERE ARE NO INNOCENTS IN GAZA. Children, maybe. You're an example of "journalism" searching for content. Used to love your show. Now I watch until I can't and that's with a squinted eye. I don't trust your information. You bend your presentation with your body language, facial expression and snide remarks, in other words, you're an amateur at best.
