Amazing documentary! Thanks for the upload. I'd love to have some updates 30 years later to know if all the species described here are still around and what other species were discovered through the years.

Wow,......that's NOT a "usuall" ask or even a "usual" concern following documentaries and the like, you've opened up my eyes in ONE carry on sentence,......(in that regard, THANK YOU) I remember watching at a VERY young age the show "WILD AMERICA with MARTY STOUFFER" (if you're unfamiliar with this show, I HIGHLY suggest it!!!) with my father,.......I'd very much like to revisit those old episodes and see what has maybe subsided, perished, thrived,......you name it. Thank you once again, so very cool a concept

The BACTERIA in soil around roots are also important (like bacteria in GUT is necessary for digestion)

Good documentary; however, "An interest in conserving genetic resources." I don't know. Why does life or anything for that matter have to be viewed as a "resource" to either be conserved or exploited in the future? Are we, human-beings, a "resource" to be conserved and later exploited? Is that really how we should view the land and the creatures that live there? That particular rationale has caused quite a bit of dysfunction leading to the sort of ecological collapse cautioned in this documentary. We should remember that humans are a part of not apart from the web of life. Like it or not, we live on a planet of interdependency.

Socotra Island and Abdul Kuri Island are part of Greater Somalia originally in the Indian Ocean within the borders of Somalia on the continent of Africa, not the right of Yemen.
