Are these the Podiums? If not are they stainless steel? Unfortunately there arent a lot of wheel to wheel to choose from that are nerf bar style. I had Westins and they started rotting within a year. I think all aftermarket stuff is meh quality, unless your willing to pay thousands for custom.
Remember there are NO SOLUTIONS just trade offs. I bought mine, open box Amazon, $326 but half the hardware was missing. N-Fab sent a new pack free of charge. Unfortunately, it took three weeks. The boards were super easy to install. I don't really love the mounting position, would have preferred it be back an inch or two (or have some adjustability). I agree with your comment about step placement/size on exit. So far, my paint is still holding up. I wish the ends of the tubes were sealed so everything stays out of the inside of them.
I just ordered some. They do have a 5yr warranty. I do not live where they salt the roads. Are there any better out there? I had a set on my 2012 2500 and the were sweet.
Thank you for the vid. I have same nfabs, actually my second set. First set chipped and rusted after 1 Mich winter. They (NFab) replaced. Second set lasted 2 years and same thing. Still solid, but wont b 4 long.
I prefer platform running boards. The small step style boards look cool, but functionality they suck. The nfab growler boards look good and are aluminum, so they shouldn’t rust.
You obviously selected the WRONG style nerf rail. I installed a similar N-Fab nerf rail (Podium Step Rail) that are 100% Stainless Steel with a black powder coat finish and I love them. The steps are much wider (4-3/4") and provide a more positive traction surface for entering and exiting my lifted truck 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 HD. When I was in the market for looking to purchase step rails, I looked at the steps that you have but opted, instead, for the wider podium steps for the reasons that you mentioned.
Appreciate the objective review. You've saved me money, time, and hassle. Have you picked/installed a new style? I've been looking at the Ranch Hand as well.
Appreciate the video. I understand where your coming from with the paint chipping off. Unfortunately where I live with the salt on the roads everything chips and rusts and you have you re-spray anything you put on the truck. Even my ranch hand bumper gets a re-spray every two years. I'm glad that it seems that they are holding up mechanically and still sturdy. Thanks for the video!
@@RedbeardOutdoors-IrishSetters The company will certainly acknowledge their 5 year manufacture warranty, all they request is proof of purchase irregardless where purchased. Best of luck and nice truck !
my mega is a 2010, i put these on since new (12 years ago) If i remeber correctly they didnt do this within a year, but they been dropping rush here and there over the years, Finally took them off last week and they rotted out from inside. Pretty sure from not having mudflaps i kicked shit into the opening in front of tube. Was full of wet packed sand in tube. Also the end of my tubes ran abit longer and curved in towards truck like the front does. Assuming they cut that off right at 3rd step to make them more universal with all other trucks (just with different brackets welded to tube) Anyways im struggling to find wheel to wheel steps to replace mine. Thanks for the vid and passing on info to rest of us.

Yeah they are rotting away.

Mine wiggles up and down and when I’m sitting still while the engine is running it makes a metal to metal ding noise.
Mine did a little bit also. I took an impact to the bolts to try and get the as tight as I could.

There are better they just cost a lot more. These are at least affordable.

Thanks for the view and comment!
If I’m not mistaken, these have a 5 year warranty on them.
I bought mine on Amazon and they did not have a warranty on them, but they might if you buy them somewhere else. They probably won't make it 5 years.
